I have a lot of respect for this lady....she kept her voice in very similar condition to when she was young. A very nice coloratura sound....I have been spoiled by Callas (young) and Sutherland - but I do appreciate Miss Gruberova very much. Seeing her bravery at singing this repertoire at this age - really moved me deeply. The E flat at the end of a very fast/slow/fast/slow Puritani was really good. She is really something! Good for her!💝
Ok, the top notes, particularly some at the end of the arias are no longer perfect, but I must say I'm really impressed with the rest, she is sounding much much better than I expected, the technique is still there at 70, truly amazing! Thank you for posting.

How anyone can be critical off this is in my opinion just not listening no singer sounds as they did in there thirties so to sing like this at this ability is just marvelous . I know its my opinion she is a wonder .

Vorrei ricordare che gli anni adesso sono 70. Non credo siano mai esistiti o che esistano attualmente cantanti, soprattutto di sesso femminile, che possano vantare una tal carriera con simili risultati ancora a quest'età dopo 50 anni di carriera ormai. Una leggenda vivente. Tecnica formidabile.

Aber entschuldigung-hier sind paar Toene nicht ok, aber zeigen sie heutezutage solche Saengerin wo paar Toene technisch richtig sind! I am very impressed with her singing (and I am by now means a fan). With one caveat, though, and that is the horribly flat top notes. I am not talking about the normal high notes (to C or so) that are fine (and more than fine for a singer of Ms Gruberova's age) but particular the first high E (Eflat?) in Lucia. The second is actually OK - so maybe she just had a bad moment. It seems, in a way, like Ms Gruberova sings better now than a few years back - I read that she god a new singing teacher and made some changes.

Her last performance was in Gersthofen on 20 December 2019. Her two planned farewell performances in November 2020, in a semi-staged Roberto Devereux at the State Theatre Košice, were cancelled due to the pandemic. Fifty one years of singing leading roles.
She did this for fans and because she loved singing the most in life....Would be a shame to sing to empty walls in her Zurich house while thousands were willing to travel all over the world to listen to her... It is always a choice... you attend a performance or not but the artist is naked on stage so do not boooo you do not have to clap but do not boooo!!!!!!!!!!!!
