I am comforted by my heating pad and essential oils. When I'm back on my feet I walk !ostly groomed trails. if not outdoors than I go to a mall. Our malls open for walkers early before the stores are open. I enjoy that. I just put in ear buds and listen to comforting sounds like ocean waves or a crackling fire. I sometimes think about what vehicle I would get next if something happened to my Chevy express. I really like what I have. I hope that I don't have to put another engine in it for a long time. Parts for chevys are easy to come by and so are remanufactured engines. So I'm planning like you are to stay with the type of vehicle I have. I'm aware that what I've written below isn't going to sit well with you, and because you are so uber-sensitive about the littlest things I won''t be surprised if you block me. I do, however, want to see you do well with this channel. My words are not said with any kind of malice - they're merely food for thought, so I am hopeful you will actually read them and consider what I am saying. ___________ Oh man, "legitimate questions." ::snort:: Dude, you've got to learn to roll with the repeated questions -- work on developing a thicker skin. That's the nature of a video channel. It's just how it is, and how it will always be. People ask because they don't know and they are curious. No sense in making them feel like they irritated you, which is obviously what they do, give how many times you've taken us to task for one faux pas or another. Same thing with people who watch your videos, then feel like they have a tip to share. You get so obviously frustrated and irritated by that because you know everything you need to know, and you like what you have, and the way you do things, and you don't need-no stinking tips. The thing is, it's pretty much a tradition for vanlife people to share ideas for those come actually read the comments. It's how we all learn. If you don't need a particular idea, maybe the next person does. Be happy that people are here watching and supporting you, rather than trying to dictate exactly how you want them to comment. If you don't want comments, simply turn them off. Participation helps to foster a feeling of community -- it's your choice. Final thought: I didn't count how many times it was mentioned in this video, so I'll just say that you mentioned health issues many times. Not just this video but you've alluded to it several times in other videos. My point here is that since you've said it so many times, will you be sharing said issues? Even if you don't mention specifics, maybe just the resulting limitations? What happens when you mention something this often, it becomes a sort of tease. Like clickbate titles are a tease. All that does is irritate your viewers, after they go through a lot of concern and wanting to help.
@@StaticCamperVan So I'm guessing you didn't hear anything I said, only the criticism, not the content? Okay, no worries..... I will wish you well and leave you to it.

I would never have noticed that YellowBird stuff but for you, and now I see it in my local Whole Foods. Maybe one day I will get the courage to buy some. I am not a big fan of hot and spicy. I just recslled that you had mentioned engine and transmission issues. A friend of mine owns a Nissan with 80,000 miles and just had catastrophic transmission failure. After some back and forth with Nissan, they are replacing his transmission even though it is out of warranty. Apparently over the last 20 years or so, Nissan has had judges order recalls and forced Nissan to extend warranties to 120,000 miles due to their widespread engine and transmission issues. Apparently consumers have protection under the legal concepts of 'implied warranty' and 'fit for purpose'...very good to know!
Hey I’m out of town right now but last week I found a super cool trail off Santa Rosa ave towards Petaluma Hill Rd - you can catch it across from Friedman Bros- it’s called Hunter Creek Trail really sweet

I love that you’re spending time here in Sonoma County. I’ve worked and lived here 14 years. A new adventure calls tho, soon I will be living in Asheville, North Carolina. I leave with many great memories, especially In Sebastopol, Petaluma and Guerneville.

Have you visited the filming location of hitchcocks “The Birds’ schoolhouse & church over in bodega? Santa Rosa is known for movies filmed there like PollyAnna on McDonald Ave. Peggy Sue got married high school is the Santa Rosa H.S. And in Petaluma Ca. American Graffiti too. Enjoy your stay & travels!
Thanks, Sonoma County has been great. Just what I was looking for this winter. I avoid anything hollywood related. But the weather, the people and all the great coffee have made my stay here very enjoyable
We were on a journey to see family and a regional fencing event for our kids years ago and found a wonderful coffee roaster called Mariposa Coffee, a small family run roaster. It's close to Oakhurst. What an amazing family. I highly recommend a visit to them. They have a website and directions.
Have you considered getting a dog ? I’ve travelled extensively and have some experience. You can get a small dog free, from the SPCA or an overloaded dog pound. Besides a great companion, they are great security. There are many pit bull types that are easily trainable. Look at an outwardly friendly dog ,about 25 or 30 pounds neither too young or old. They will let you dog walk him for a few days to see if you both can get along. Good luck . pS . You’re never alone .
Hi Scott. So when your Promaster City finally goes to minivan heaven, what do you intend to replace it with? The reason I ask is that I have been considering downsizing from my full size Ford Transit, but no one is offering small cargo vans anymore. The Promaster City, the NV200, the Chevy version of the NV200, the Transit Connect, and the Metris all have been discontinued. Yes, I could buy used, but then I'd be buying an orphaned vehicle that parts availability will decline much faster than a current model. And most of the used vans have high miles, due to being used for commercial purposes. I'd like to hear from anyone out there that would like to purchase a new small cargo van that has the same concerns that I do. (I wouldn't consider a passenger minivan due to all the windows, and the need to tear out the seats and trim in order to do a campervan conversion.)
Unfortunately, our options are limited as you have pointed out. It’s my goal to keep my van for as long as possible. I made a video that goes more into my thoughts on this here: th-cam.com/video/WqfWFJndLvg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=3bJgMFH9G9EettUW

Hahaha. You know that you missed April Fools by a day. So close!
@@StaticCamperVan So I'm guessing you didn't hear anything I said, only the criticism, not the content? Okay, no worries..... I will wish you well and leave you to it.
REI carries yellow bird as well as some trading outpost shops
Maybe they ask about something larger because they want to see what you would do with more space.
Personally, I like the comfort of a small space.
I think your van is a good size since you present with a small frame. That size wouldn't bother me at all if I chose the van lifestyle.
Your car might be a bit too small to live out of. This is simply an observation, not an attack
@@StaticCamperVan Mine would definitely be too small as I have a Mini Cooper.
I've lived in Sebastopol for over 40 years and can't imagine living anywhere else. Glad that you made it through our small town. I'm drinking Taylor Lane decaf coffee as I write this. There's traffic because of people going to the coast and Occidental.
Thanks!
Hey Thanks Jeffrey!
I wish I could afford one of those Prius style Toyota vans that they don’t make. Climate controlled GOAT dwelling space there 🖖
I would never have noticed that YellowBird stuff but for you, and now I see it in my local Whole Foods.
Maybe one day I will get the courage to buy some. I am not a big fan of hot and spicy. I do like the
refrigerated Havens Kitchen Golden Turmeric Tahini they sell there which is expensive, but very tasty and not burning spicy hot. Turmeric
& tahini are supposed to be very good for the health ... anti-oxidants I think.
Bless your heart, I appreciate your camper van life that you share with us! What business is it if you want a small van, the “they” bother me so I feel you!😊 Anyway keep up the videos & your wonderful coffees! Yum! Coffee is my only vice if that’s a word to use!😁💜
King of subtlety. That has to be the gentlest sarcasm I've ever heard, and I love it!😂
Feel better Scott!
Thanks
Thanks Scott! Another fine video.
We have Yellowbird in my Local Jewel Grocery store under 4 dollars
I really enjoy ur videos u are so funny ! It’s so hot here me and my dog Blue are stuck inside till the sun goes down mosquitoes at my sons camp ⛺️ I dunno how he does it out there ! But all in all he’s got a nice camp with a creek water spicket nearby and the city placed a portapotty half a block up ! So like u I’m thankful for the lil things he’s got !
Great news for your friend
Hey I’m out of town right now but last week I found a super cool trail off Santa Rosa ave towards Petaluma Hill Rd - you can catch it across from Friedman Bros- it’s called Hunter Creek Trail really sweet
Hey Thanks
I await the day in which this guy puts yellowbird in his coffee…
Are you going to get a bigger van? ... Just kidding, I watched the entire video. I added some of that Yellow Bird hot sauce to my Amazon saved list, the description sounds like it would be really good.
You might want to try and find Yellowbird locally as Amazon really price gouges
Scott, I agree with you 1000%!
75% would be plenty
@@StaticCamperVan Oh shoot 😒
@myvanlife1 haha
Good thought turning stickers into magnets - I’m going to use that one. 🤓
Hi Scott, new subscriber here, ex PNW dweller now doing the nomad thing in Australia. I’m loving your videos. I hate malls too and much prefer a nature trail. What camera do you use in your videos as It films great! I’ve just been using my phone for my vlogs but am considering an update one day!
Thank you. I use an iPhone as my only camera
Enjoy your outing! Love your videos
I found yellow bird at Walmart today
Walking on trails, then getting coffee. If you could only walk a trail to coffee!
Hmm, that would be good
You Know, Far Northern CA like near Redding/Crescent City'/ Eureka/Red Bluff/Lassen is the Pacific Northwest!
Yes! And it’s all wonderful
No stores in the UK sell yellow bird. Other types but not yellow bird. What a shame
Yellowbird will ship across the pond but you’d probably be better finding a local hot sauce
Where are you from? Are you a California native? I live in Southern California (home), but lived in Ferndale for many years and left because I was getting moldy.😂 I like flip flops like you like coffee.
Haha. Yes, I’m a SoCal native. But I prefer Humboldt and the rest of the PNW nowadays
It's good to be thankful❤
I really appreciate the coffee recommendations you make and I’ve tried a few. So far best tasting for me is Humboldt Bay. It’s a bit pricing when you add in the shipping cost. I’ll be heading North when it warms up in Bay Area. Thanks for another great video with some wonderful destination ideas.
Oh that’s nice to hear. Thanks
I was in my local Walmart the other day and the had a whole endcap loaded with smaller bottles of Yellow Bird of numerous flavors. I think they were clearance. Check your local and maybe even their internet sales.
You’re the third person to comment on this. That was a holiday promotion
An interesting tidbit. True, or not, Sebastopol has the reputation of having a high population of witches… take it for what it’s worth 😳
I didn’t get turned into a frog

I love that you’re spending time here in Sonoma County. I’ve worked and lived here 14 years. A new adventure calls tho, soon I will be living in Asheville, North Carolina. I leave with many great memories, especially In Sebastopol, Petaluma and Guerneville.
Best of luck with your move east. Supposed to be a great place out there.
To me, east African (Kenyan, Ethopian) coffee tastes like light roast even if it's sold as medium roast. It's my favorite.
New subscriber here, and so enjoying your real world videos. We fulltime RV'd for 16y and most of that boondocking in nature. Happy travels!
Thank you
I noticed you’ve been in my neck of the woods for awhile. I hope you’ve been enjoying your time in good ol Sonoma County! I live down in Rohnert Park s/o Santa Rosa.
But the weather, the people and all the great coffee have made my stay here very enjoyable
when are you going to get a bigger van?
Good to see you, Scott. Always love your videos!
Thanks. I hope you’re doing well
@@StaticCamperVan I am doing great! I have spent my whole winter in Florida at the beach!
We were on a journey to see family and a regional fencing event for our kids years ago and found a wonderful coffee roaster called Mariposa Coffee, a small family run roaster. It's close to Oakhurst. What an amazing family. I highly recommend a visit to them. They have a website and directions.
Thanks, I’ll try and get there this winter
Have you considered getting a dog ? I’ve travelled extensively and have some experience. You can get a small dog free, from the SPCA or an overloaded dog pound. Besides a great companion, they are great security. There are many pit bull types that are easily trainable.
Look at an outwardly friendly dog ,about 25 or 30 pounds neither too young or old. They will let you dog walk him for a few days to see if you both can get along. Good luck . pS . You’re never alone .
I like dogs a lot but don’t have the capacity to care for one properly
Wow, 7 years! Where do you take showers and go to bathroom? Are you currently working? Have you found saving 7 years of rent worthwhile?
Yes, I still have bills and vanlife is relatively expensive. I have a Playlist that answers most of your questions: th-cam.com/play/PL9PWzpL1cZIHqSZqC7ho6jhfWSQaLisGF.html&si=R0usqx_YfMlZdguG
Can you film inside thecafe. Do you ever just "hangout" in a coffeehouse? I used to write or draw or read or people watch. Maybe not you.
I do occasionally hangout in a cafe. Yesterday’s current vlog (not this one) was partly edited in a coffee shop. I rarely record inside a cafe due to people talking and music playing
Am your fan in South Africa...what really triggered you to pursue this lifestyle?so therapeutic anyway
Hi, initially it was to save money but now it’s because I like options it gives me
Do you go to malls when the weather is bad. I know they are rsther commercial but just sitting to have a coffee, people watching, can be relaxing.
Not often. I’d rather not be around large crowds. Here’s a vlog I did during one of the worst storms I’ve experienced: th-cam.com/video/6QE_XDPRsQI/w-d-xo.htmlsi=S921XNwzuNvCJrk-
still having problem with charging your battery you should get a dc charger charge directly from your generator when you drive
It isn’t a problem but if you are curious as to why, here are two videos where I answer why no engine charging: th-cam.com/video/c8rj9DDkxac/w-d-xo.htmlsi=y766IuirYvp1EMq5

There is a lot of traffic in that area.
I started watching u a little while ago and love ur content
Thanks Deborah
Meijer has Yellow Bird for $3.49 on the app.
Great price!
