I like upgrades that are both practical and attractive. The cutting board is so pretty sitting on the counter. I do love my Epicureans, though. And the new lighting is warm and cozy, rather than harsh and utilitarian, what a difference! Nice choice. As a small business owner I really appreciate you trying to buy things locally. Had a giggle over the comment about how you were sure people would let us know what you were doing "wrong" with the glue.

This is what I learned years ago from chefs about plastic cutting boards vs. wooden cutting boards: Plastic boards are for raw meats as they can be sterilized. However, wooden boards cannot be sterilized so they're for cooked meats and vegetables (raw and cooked).

Never underestimate the power of light to make a cozy inviting environment. I am a sucker for different types and varieties of lighting options from colored Luci lights, magnetic LEDS, battery operated curtain lights. I have even put small led lights under the seats in the cab of the van. I just found some magnetic motion lights for the van exterior when stationary that are added to my equipment wish list.

The red color is good to use befor bed or in the middle of the night, as it does not wake you up completly, thus you fall asleep quicker again. As a bonus its less visible from afar.

That update hit the spot! The lighting - can sure see how that is a gentler option. I was a fan of contact cement when I was younger, didn't know it was still around. I'll have to look for it the next time I need to stick up something in the van. The olive wood board is a handsome addition. Guess what I appreciated most this time - just your own commitment to what works well, instead of what's strictly "beautiful". It's giving me a chance to think about how I choose to adjust and augment my own van space. Tks!

The plastic cutting bords are for ceramic knives, the wooden ones for metal knifes, just in case you did not know that.

Great little upgrades for your van home. Magnets are so useful in a tiny space. Notice any good or bad with so many magnets around you? I know they are used in health care.

I haven’t noticed any effects from the magnets. Only convenience

I think double sided tape might be easier.

I’ve tried using several brands of double sided tape in the past. None of it ever sticks for more than a few months. That’s how I switched to glue

The lighting is so much better. Did you buy the cutting board at Trader Joe’s? They used to sell olive wood cutting boards.

Found the cutting board at Marshals. I think TJ’s only sells them during the holidays
