    Joanna is quite thorough. Don't think I could prepare so much. Great video however! Especially the part about pulling in stories from your experience. I enrolled in an ID program only to find out that I had already been doing a lot of ID work in my higher ed teaching on a formal level. it really is about setting the narrative. Thank you!

    Another amazing resource. Thank you to the both of you. I am an aspiring ID based in India, and your content has helped me a great deal in making this transition.

    I feel better knowing that it's taken Joanna 10 months to prepare because I've been prepping for 8 months and feel like I'm not doing much of anything. I guess I should give myself some grace.

    • @DevlinPeckYT
      @DevlinPeckYT  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, definitely give yourself some grace! It's a process and as long as you're making progress, you'll get there :D

    How long did you teach? And what formal ID qualifications did you have before applying. I taught for 2 years...high school level....had experience in corporate training....worked as Facilitator/assessor airline training. Now I reach online using an LMs. I have completed 1 of 4 in a micromasters in ID. What advice do you have for me?

    • @DevlinPeckYT
      @DevlinPeckYT  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! Joanna taught for a couple of years in the US, 2 years in Korea, and 4 years in Taiwan before coming back to the States and pursuing ID. She doesn't have any ID certs that I know of...all self-taught and the bootcamp! Feel free to join us in the community for advice and support along your journey: www.devlinpeck.com/id

    Thank you for this and other content like it. I have a third interview with an organization on Friday. They want me to compete a case study for the team on Friday. Does anyone know what a case study means?

    • @DevlinPeckYT
      @DevlinPeckYT  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You’re very welcome! And a case study is generally a write-up about a project you’ve completed and the results it produced, but I’m not sure in this context if they’re expecting you to bring one or if it’s going to be a practice assignment of sorts.

    • @BilboDad
      @BilboDad 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DevlinPeckYT they’re giving me 40 minutes to complete one, so I’m guessing it’s one they want me to create. Do you think they want to me analyze a project that’s already completed? Do you know of any examples I can study?

    Joanna Cappuccilli, what coding skills do you need for AWS?

    • @DevlinPeckYT
      @DevlinPeckYT  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Good question, Faizan. Coding skills are not required for roles like this, but showing off that you can use custom xAPI to track user interactions in a Storyline course generally makes a difference for tech roles like this.

    • @flagshipbuilds
      @flagshipbuilds 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DevlinPeckYT Where do I learn xAPI from? Do I need to know JASON before xAPI? I think you mentioned it before but it's hard to keep track.

    Please don’t call Experts “Smees” as in we don’t refer to Instructional Designers as ID’s (ih-d-s).

    • @superlean5991
      @superlean5991 ปีที่แล้ว

      I work in a corporate environment and hear “Smees” exclusively and never hear someone say “S.M.E”. They’ll just say Subject Matter Expert if they want to be long winded.
