I was lucky enough to get my Pioneer at Race for the Rails (long story, might be able to tell you on the 20th at the Holiday Lights Ride), and I put it on my GT-S the following day. Zero regrets, and my favorite tire in the dirt by a long shot (though I have not ridden the Trail Pro 2). I have bearing pullers handy, and I think I'll be using that method from here out to change my tires, especially since I've "bent" the lips of a couple pairs of tires while trying to man-handle them over the rims. I'll have to see about getting a PVC tube and cut a slot to allow the motor cable through so I can place the block all the way across and avoid it going in unevenly. I use four small nails as guides to ensure the cap is lined up properly before knocking it down and on. I'm sure there's something better out there, but I happened to have them handy once and have kept using them since.
Sweeeet, my buddy just got his and is installing it this weekend! I'm super curious to try it out as it looks like a great balance between Enduro and Pioneer! Unfortunately, it isn't available for the 5" I needed, else I woulda got it too!
Thx! The low light is shot with the Sony a6700 and a 15mm f1.4 prime lens to let in as much light as possible. Either 4k 120fps for slow mo, or 4k 30fps, @ 1/60 shutter (to match other cameras) and Sony's standard color profile with light color grading in Davinci Resolve. So, no log, but that camera is in the highest quality mode and can shoot 10bit, so I have a more color data to work with in post. 🤓
I cringed a bit when I saw you were going to take the cover off. Agreed doubt it's easier plus risky. I built a wooden block that screws into my axle that I can use to lock the hub into a vice for tire changes. Can use c-clamps if you don't have a vice. Makes tire changs 10x easier. Sick setup tho. Love the videos.
Yaaaaaa....I was questioning myself during that part 😅. Love the idea of a dedicated wood block. I did finally order TFL's Tire Bead Breaker during their sale, so that will help out a little more!
My pioneer sprung a few leaks so I had to swap out to an Enduro while I wait on another pioneer to come in. I wanted to see if I could do it without removing the cold ones and I was able to do it successfully without issue. Having the stator exposed makes me very nervous. Love the videos man. Keep it up. 🤙
Haha, reverse scenario! And I think I was worried about bending the Cold Ones fins...plus my plan to remove the hub cover required it....but yea, it's not necessary.
I'm actually working on a vid about just this! But the short of it is, that in this video, I'm using Electrolytes in the GT-S (they are also avail for GT, XR Classic, & Pint series). And there is another RGB controller you can get for the GT-V that I'm using as well. Handy dandy links below 😉 FM Board Option (Pint/XR Classic/GT/GT-S): oakcityelectrolytes.com/products/gt-electrolytes Floatwheel GT-V RGBs: www.etsy.com/au/listing/1802942629/floatwheel-gtvrgb-system?fbclid=IwY2xjawHBYjpleHRuA2FlbQIxMAABHR8_AkOm-4MyEX5EoQa5KZukyvftzrkq4BysNzI2gk8I7dFRvVjJh3A2hQ_aem_mMu2Gcp5f5GZH-x667ZpCA
Only on my GT-V...(and XR-V in the future). I can't level Steep & Deep WTF rails with stock FM software...and even Standard WTF rails only levels with maxing out the 3 degree nose up, and it only kicks in after you get moving. Feels off if I'm rocking back and forth or just chilling at a stop light. 😕 Also...I'm team symmetry!

That shirt is too chill🥶🤙🏽
😎
The pioneer is an awesome tyre. Love mine
Heck yeah Mt. Ginter, another banger review. It was both informational and entertaining ✊
Stoked to hear you dug it Jay! 😎
Love this tire in both 6.5 and 5!
Got the thundercat on the way. I ride 90 percent trails, and have been on the enduro…can’t wait to try it

That twilight footage looks great. Are you filming in Log? Adjusting ISO? 24 fps?

What lights are those on the rear? The light bar is doing patterns. How did you do that with GTV kit?

I'm still on the prototype version of that tire that I received back in July. Even after 5 months, it's still going strong. 10 out of 10 👌
Sweet, hoping for this bad boy to last a while too! 🤘🏼
No curved rails?!
