Wrestle Punching and the Missing Link

  • Mixing striking and grappling skills fluidly can be challenging, especially for new fighters. Often, we see that they have a tendency to segment those skills out.
    This is a great drill to start encouraging them to explore how to implement striking while also dealing with simple frames, grabs, and obstructions.

    What I do not like is that "playful approach". If you do not know what I mean watch the guys from urban combatives. Train with the right mindset.

      Appreciate in the input. I am very aware of the UC group and training methodologies. Great stuff. There's a time to train hard and gritty, and a time to be playful. In my experience, training with a creative mindset allows dexterity in addressing dynamic problems. To each their own ;)
