Elegant design, grand presentation, actually poses physical danger and is clever and ambitious to boot - definitely the finest draconic villain since Smaug in the Hobbit at least.
Pretty awesome that someone else compares him to Smaug. I thought I was the only one 😂.
And he’s the weakest one which is insanely scary.

Matt Mercer sure knows how to play his villians. He was great as craven edge and sylas briarwood too. Hopefully he'll still be playing a villian in the next season.
I think he may voice the ice dragon but I could be wrong. However his will definitely be present in season 3

They also made him quite a bit more terrifying than he was in the Original campaign so that just speaks volumes on how sheerly OP Vorugal will be
To be fair with the exception of con he has higher stats than Vorugal.
I mean... Raishan is physically weaker. But she has magic, and she is freakishly smart.

I loved Umbrasyl every time he appeared on screen, definitely my favorite dragon design from the Chroma Conclave.
I like Vorugal and Thordak more myself. I love how Vorugal is almost bear-like, which makes sense, more mass means more body heat. Pretty important for something that lives in cold climates. Thordak is super dignified (for now) and regal, his voice work (RIP Lance Reddick) makes him sound educated and genuinely intelligent.
I knew they'd be doing something cool with the dragons the moment I saw how he was handled. He isn't just a normal dragon who breathes acid. His wings rain acid as he flies, and his throat swells like a frog when he's about to use his breath

actually in the campaign it was a total wash in a sense. Only scanlan went inside Umbrasyl through the wound to come back out and he didnt even do much. Someone whose seen more of it can correct me.
Not sure why they changed it (comedic effect , maybe) but at the table they actually just used dimension door to teleport inside the dragon.

The truly scary thing is that Umbrasyl isn't even the most powerful or dangerous member of the Chroma Conclave. He's just the one they went after first

Iirc, In the campaign it took them 20 minutes or so to get up to its lair, where the dragon used that time to heal up.
One of the most seamless blends of hand drawn animation with CGI I have ever seen. I wish they could go back and fix Brimscythe because of how great the Chroma Conclave looks in season 2.

Probably not. They need to give Thordak and Raishan the screen presence befitting their narrative importance.
Still, I do hope they reference Gelidon. Would help explain what Vorugal has been up to during all this.
Will be interesting to see where they put him this time.
I don't think we have seen any dragonborn in LoVM so Draconia might be Wizards of the Coast property. Will Vorugal still be in Wildmount?

That's the nature of dragons. Their greatest weakness is their pride and their vanity, especially when they're winning, because they can't even comprehend a scenario when they start losing.
I still don't get why he is not a leader of Conclave. He is smarter and realised the power of artifacts
Because Thordak is far more powerful than he is, and Raishan is far smarter and more skilled with magic.

Besides, it was Ripley whispering sweet nothing's in his ear that got Umbrasyl so arrogant and assured and even interested in the Vestiges in the first place.

And it was really the arrogance of the last two dragons Vox Machina slew that did them in.
Vorugal does not seem the type to stop for a monologue.
