The Russell's Reserve store pick you looked at in Cox's was from warehouse CN, that is the Camp Nelson warehouse. That is the warehouse Wild Turkey pulls their best barrels from.
So what you're saying is I messed up.. lol Good to know for the future lol. Im not super familiar with Russell's products. I've only had the 10 year and wasn't a big fan, but I've also heard amazing things about the CN and Russel Reserve Store picks.
@@TheMashBrothers Just info for next time. The single barrels from Wild Turkey, both the Russells Reserve and the Kentucky Spirit list the warehouse they come from and CN is the one you want. It is the honey hole warehouse where they pull barrels for a lot of their special releases.
The Russell's Reserve private barrels blow away the 10 year.
THA BOYS!!!!
Love the channel! Bourbon is another one of my very expensive hobbies lol
Keep up the great work!
The tumblin dice single barrel store picks are really good!!
Thank you for stopping by our store, Evergreen and our sister stores Cox’s.
If that was a Dewar's Double Double 32yo at the Blind Pig, that's *the* bottle to get. Curiosity Public rated it their best spirit so far, i got it on their recommendation, it's really excellent.
McNair's Lum Reek 21yo is also supposed to be good for the price - it's a blended malt (all malt whisky - multiple distilleries) produced by the same people behind Glenallachie. Most people don't know that, so i'm told it's underrated. It is a peated scotch tho.
Im Also in ohio. Was out of 107 so i just picked up 2 bottles (for retail of course). Walked into a local honey hole and walked right out. No waiting in line at all
Bro, you passed up a bernheim wheat whiskey barrel proof. That blew me away I really enjoyed it, also the old forester single barrel barrel proof is probably my favorite that I’ve tried so far
If you haven’t had the James E Pepper decanter bottle, it’s a good one.
We’ve seen it popping up around here lately. Might have to grab that one next time i see it
The Blind Pig is awesome! Must stop, found some 13th Colony there which I cant get in Wisconsin!
Awesome, I haven't tried that one yet. I heard the double oak is incredible.
Can’t even find that JDSBBP Rye in Massachusetts
Old Forester blue label store picks are buy all day bottles for me! Greens = whoot!
Great picks, but if you haven’t had the Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Barrel Proof Rye, please grab it next time you see it. Absolutely excellent bottle.
You need to check the proofs on the JD barrel proof ryes? If you see any over 136 proof must buy!
Fellow Ohioan about an hour from Columbus. I loved my recent trips to Kentucky for bourbon hunting. I’ve found multiple products that I’ve enjoyed lately because of it. Larceny, Willet Old Bardstown BIB, Knob Creek Single Barrel Reserve, Castle and Key Wheated and Kentucky Spirit are a few that I have picked up. Am curious what your thoughts are on Middle West and Watershed. Haven’t tried either yet.
I've had them a few times, and I have a watershed bottle at home. They are decent, def. cool to have some local distilleries in the area.
Was just down in Bardstown a few months ago, loved the little museum Heaven Hill had. Got a few mini bottles there but my main haul was a bottle of Noah's Mill from the awesome Willett tour. At the Beam distillery I snagged a 200ml Hardin's Creek Clermont. Didn't visit any of the liquor stores but i'll have to look next time I'm in Kentucky. Can't believe I passed up so much barrel proof stuff at heaven hill, though I really liked Johnny Drum.
We had a lot of fun at the distilleries too, we only visited a handful this trip but last trip Luke and i hit like 15 or so on a short weekend. The stores can be a lot of fun
@@TheMashBrothers for sure. Makers Mark was my favorite, loved all the art and stuff. Gorgeous campus, good food, and they let you dip your own bottle. Tho I’m sad they stopped selling Makers White.
@@skraegorn7317 i never got a chance to try that one, but i have to agree it’s an amazing facility. Our next video is going to be the bardstown distillery tour and we loved it there
Heading to Columbus OH this weekend, any places you would suggest to try and find Weller Antique? Can’t find any in kentucky (driving through cincy)
Unfortunately you won’t find it sitting on the shelves, you’ll have to be at a giant eagle or Kroger at least by 7am I’d say waiting for store to open at 9 to have a shot, but no guarantee which stores will have it unfortunately
David, you have any suggestions to pull any of the other Wellers in Kentucky?
I have bottle of that cask strength rabbit hole it’s one of the best bottles I’ve ever purchased
I would have bought all of the ET on the shelf. Can’t get it at home so I buy several everytime I vacation.
We would have liked to but just too much $ for us at this time, the EH barrel proof at the end they wanted over 800 for
Very nice video.
Glad I am in an abc state as those prices are stupid
So disappointed in some of these store prices. Keystone liquor is suuuuuuper expensive.
My god! So many bottles that I would not have passed up on.... it's so hard to get good stuff in arizona :(
It’s overwhelming coming from Ohio were we are only used to the good stuff being on the counter to there being tons of bottles everywhere at every store
If you guys ever plan to visit Savannah ga let me know I work at the oldest liquor store in savannah
Wife and I have talked about taking a vacation there soon, we will definitely keep that in mind! Thanks!
@@TheMashBrothers heck yeah just let me know ahead of time I’ll talk to my bosses and I’ll see what I can do lol
I really enjoy your bourbon hunt videos! Should I subscribe?
Go Blue!
@@robertv4673 personally I’m an Oregon fan, but I’ll cheer blue on any day over OSU 😂
What's the trick to get Weller 107 in Ohio? Was just in Cincinnati and it's not good
Have to be in line on a Saturday at stores like giant eagle or Kroger 2 hours before open and hope that they got some in that week. Typically you can use the Ohio liquor reddit page to help judge what bottles are dropping earlier in the week
I’d love to get my hands on that screaming Titan from redwood
Its delicious, So sweet, honey, caramel notes. very easy sipping too!
Missed a good 4roses SBBS at keystone 😢
Ended up texting my wife and it’s the one i have at home so i left it for the next person
Man keystone was expensive
We got way better prices here in NYC! Lol
Wish I could find an eh or a 107 at the price u said I never see them
Eh is typically harder to come by here in OH, 107 is more available but still have to be at the store bright and early in the morning
Missed an eagle rare for $50 that’s a steal where I am from.
It was only a 375ml, i thought about getting it just to have a smaller sized one but had a tight budget for this trip and had already spent too much as it was
@@TheMashBrothers ahh didn’t catch it was a 375ml totally understand the pass on it then. Haven’t seen a little bottle in a long time
@@jmunza1 I've only ever seen 2 I believe, once in KY in this video and the other in NYC. Both times $50 or more for the bottle unfortunately
Traveller's is the "new" W. Pot stilled 🫣 lol. 😂🤣😉
Lmao you’re not wrong 😅 it’s decent but nothing i wanna spend my money on
Another great video guys! We love Penelope too. Just recently picked up the American Light Whiskey and it’s definitely our favorite.
Damn. We've been trying to get our hands on one, and have had 0 luck so far.
