You mentioned accidentally stopping the blades and falling out of the sky. The CSC (Combination Stick Command) bit me once. I was recording for the motorcycle police, and was just hovering while waiting for the instructor to quit talking. I looked up and noticed they were all getting back on their bikes. This was a little ways away from me, so I really didn't hear my drone, andI forgot I was hovering. Out of habit, pulled the sticks down and out to start the blades and take off. Dropped 20 feet instantly, and fortunately, not on a police officer, lol. Cost me $500 for new camera and legs for my Phantom 3 Pro. My Mavic is being delivered by a brown truck today, so I am glad to see it has the CSC for "Breakdown Only" option.
    Love the vids Ed, thanks!

I just discovered your channel last week and have been combing through your videos diligently in preparation for my arrival of my very own hormonal teenager:) I love your content and the sarcastic humor you include in your videos. I'm certain these tips will enable me to hit the ground running when my Mavic Pro arrives. Sorry I didn't purchase through your links, but now that I know a little about how you-tubers make money and how consumers can support your channel, I will definitely be conscious of that the next time I make a purchase:) Good up the good work!!

Thanks for talking about the "Always/Breakdown" part. I don't think I've heard anyone else mention it. Seems like it should be number one on any of the beginner tutorials for the Mavic, or any drone that has that option. You're probably right, many people have probably lost their drones because of this.
Also, love your videos. They are the most informative, and you are by far the easiest to learn from. My Mavic should be here within the week, and watching your videos makes me feel like I'm already flying it. I've only had a few minutes on a friends Mavic, but I've got a couple hours on a Phantom 4 at work. I've never had the time to adjust ANY settings, or figure out any Intelligent Flight Modes, but thanks to your channel I think it'll be a walk in the park now!

I applaud the work you are doing, Ed! I have been watching most all of your videos and am especially glad that you have posted many of them about the Mavic Pro. I have already made about 6 flights and did see that it was a little abrupt on braking, etc. I went ahead and did the changes that you recommended and will test them out next time I go fly. Not only am I a licensed fixed wing commercial pilot and flight instructor, but found that the quadcopter is almost as much fun. I am really into photography and the Mavic is the perfect match for my dual hobbies!

I ordered the Mavic Pro on Amazon on Jan 3rd. Twice they gave me a delivery date between Feb 3 - Feb 23. They have retracted the delivery dates twice and now shows March 20th as the release date. DJI store now says they ship in a week. Buy from Ed and subscribe. He takes great videos and explains things well. Sorry Ed, I bought mine through the DJI store last week before your link.

Ed Ricker Vlogs - Ed, It should ship from DJI this week since I ordered it from them online last week. I am going to cancel the Amazon order. Thanks for posting your videos. I can tell you have experience in photography and your videos show that. I watched your unboxing. Mine is also a gift to myself. My wife hates it when she finds a gift from Santa to under the tree for me. Last year it was a Gibson Les Paul Custom Silverburst. Santa has a good taste in guitars too. Thanks for sharing your videos and making them entertaining as well as informative. I'll keep recommending them and give you a thumbs up.

Nice video Ed, I'm shortly to get airborne with the Mavic and would like some info on settings for the total beginner!
I don't want it to be too sensitive, please could you tell me from maybe 1 to 10 on setting up! In an idiots guide to flying the Mavic,
I have flown years ago fixed wing model aircraft with a few accidents along the way,
But I feel this would be easier than that but with a great deal more adjustments before first flight!
    Kind regards

Enjoyed your vIdeo, learned a lot. I’ve noticed that certain settings on your remote differ from mine. For instance on the “urgent stop mode” that the rectangular box on your remote says “breakdown “ while mine says “for use in emergencies only” and when you click on the box you can also choose “CSC maneuver .” What is CSC maneuver? There are other areas on your remote that you can make changes to that influence the movement of the drone that don’t exist on mine. By the way I am talking about mavic Pro platinum remote and drone. Thanks .

Ed, I am in Australia I am really enjoying your show. Thank you very much. I have set up my Mavic pro based on your instruction. It is pretty good ,just one issue I have, if you get a moment could you please reply to my message. The problem is, when I take picture pressed the button on the controller the screen goes black, I have to restart my phone pretty much to start from the beginning. I don't know what is the problem or what I'm doing wrong or perhaps what setup I have to change to make it work. My final question is can you get a goggle for FPV goggle for Mavic pro. If you do have one for sale in your business. I am more than happy to look into it to purchase one, just let me know.
