What's cool was good words in a time when I needed to hear it... that's you! Trying to show my appreciation by purchasing something from you but here's where my luck fails me ...he will order for me, just don't know when... irresponsible

The chiastolites are indeed sawn and polished. It’s actually the mineral andalusite.

That is not green rutile in those crystals. It is an amphibole called actinolite.

So I have a peridot with green rutile. Bought it 15+ years ago never seen another since. Sillimanite is an aluminosilicate mineral with the chemical formula Al₂SiO₅. Sillimanite is named after the American chemist Benjamin Silliman. It is rare and shares the same chemical formula as Kyanite. The difference is how the crystals form. Ok full disclosure I looked it up.

The local miners in Madagascar are paid pennies for their backbreaking labour. Child labour is illegal in Madagascar, but unfortunately common in the mining industry. The gem/mineral trade in Madagascar is pure exploitation. And yes, I’ve actually been to Madagascar.

What other trades are there to feed the population other than subsistence farming? There is nothing for these ppl, that’s why they flock to boom towns to try and make a living. Because there isn’t one otherwise.

Victorian England was built on the backs of Children. 7 and up. I saw early 1900's footage of a busy downtown with mostly kids wearing aprons and uniforms tending various jobs. All stopping to look at the camera capturing the day. It's the kids who have no responsibilities i worry about. The spoiled.
