Montreal hip-hop fans really appreciate the spotlight you're giving Backxwash! You're doing way more for her career than any major media outlet in Montreal, Quebec or Canada will even try to do... thank you!! Shout out to Urban Science and LeCypher, that's where I first heard her perform!! Pure genius!
she’s incredible !!! so glad anthony put me on backxwash, this album is so incredible and i’m so hyped for what she does next. i hope that melon reviewing her gave her a boost in audience man, she really deserves it
Seriously! I was listening to the title track like “damn, is this screaming chorus kinda TOO ‘horrorcore’?” but after listening through again it’s pretty damn great and sets a terrifying atmosphere without being too grating to me 👌🏼
edgar allah poe mmmhmmmm to be fair i dont like when people stereotype themselves either as a part of those groups. It makes it akward for me or feels like I’m being seen based on something that’s out of my control and becomes uncomfortable. Ideas otherwise make me really dysphoric, like I just want to be treated normally lol I get that it’s not in bad spirit it just doesn’t make much of a difference to me when i feel liek stereotypes are being applied to me

anthony thanks for reviewing stuff like this. really helps me find new artists that are actually really fuckin good. appreciate you. and shoutout to backxwash for this insane album!
Another amazing artist I never would've known about without you. Her lyrics on Burn To Ashes are exceptionally realistic and accurate to the mindset and emotions of a suicidal person. 10/10 for me.

@@nightmaresand808s Stravinsky's 'Rite of Spring' which is not even aggressive had the same reaction in 1913. On its premier the audience started a mini riot and critics called it barbaric. It'd be amazing if that happened though.
Hey Anthony as a Canadian artist its dope to see you putting out content on artists from me area! Keep at it man, Canada has some of the world's best musical artists
I’m just noticing that Anthony really likes albums with black and white covers (Money Store, TPAB, You Won’t Get What You Want, Backxwash’s albums, etc).
Yeah this is probably my favorite album of 2021 so far. Utterly floored by it after GHNTDWTLHO blew me away last year. Eternally indebted to this channel for putting them on my radar. It's a 9 for me.

I started listening to this a little bit ago and I do recommend heeding Melon's words: This isn't for the faint of heart. I had to stop after track 2 because... wow i was sent flying back into a time and a place i did not want to be in. Consider this comment a content warning for those with a past of suicidal ideology. But, if you can push through it please do. It is incredibly worth while, and I still love what I heard
It’s a good (great even) album, but honestly I wish the production was a bit more detailed. It doesn’t quite reach the high water mark set by groups like NIN and clipping.
