Like Fischer said, Morphy was the most accurate player that ever lived and almost never blundered. His exact words

1864... I remember it like it was yesterday.
Morphy makes chess look easy. When I try to play like him, I usually find myself doing passive moves after a while, but he never stops.

Could this possibly be one of his last recorded games? Most sources say he retired In 1861 and his list of recorded games end in 1863 in paris.

I love how so many Morphy games the guys of the era never get their queen side pieces out and hence why he often seems to have started without queenside knights and rooks uin handicaps. Get your pieces out and active esp against non masters and don't think too hard about being down a piece/pawn etc

In terms of raw talent no chess player comes even close to Morphy. Fischer maybe... but he was reading over 1000 chess books by the age of 18 whereas Morphy READ his first chess book when he was 18... crazy to think about.

In my opinion Paul Morphy was one of the most intellectually gifted peoples who ever lived. Using such telent for chess was not all that great. He should have use it for research in mathematics or physics.

I'm looking at a game from Portsmouth 1923 between Alekhine/Vajda move 15 whites pieces are more but has backward pawn i'm looking at nd7 bd7 f5 to create isolated d or e pawn depending on whether black to take c4 which in turn play nc4 bc7 f take e what do yo think of this solution
