You have just made a LOT of Australians and New Zealanders very happy. 😁Jimmy has a 50-year back catalogue, both solo and with Cold Chisel, and he's been brilliant throughout. But there is so much good stuff to listen to!!! Wild Thing live with Cold Chisel at the Last Stand concerts in the early 1980s (make sure you get the version with the remastered sound) is also mind blowing...

You need to check out his duo with our other living legend John Farnham (supported by Jimmys talented brother in law Diesel also an awesome guitarist and soloist) “When something is wrong with my baby”. Jimmy Barnes has several children all sing as well. His daughter Mahlia Barnes sings backup for Joe Bonamassa. Mahalia is a recording artist herself as well. Mahalia and Joe Bonamassa has a couple songs you would love. Riding with the king and the other one is Nasty Girl. Both are great!
Jimmy is an Australian legend....you've got a lot of material to catch up on. He's been around for generations of Aussies with band "Cold Chise" and as a solo performer.
Thank you! I found Jimmy Barnes while searching for Tina Turner videos. They do a duet together of "(Simply) The Best" that will not disappoint! Jimmy had emergency open heart surgery in December. He was supposed to be back on stage March 31st. I haven't heard if he made it or not. There is an interesting episode of "60 Minutes Australia" that talks about all of this.
Ps he has written 3 autobiographies which are a great read called Working Class Boy, Working Class Man and Killing Time. They are well worth the read....I needed tissues for every book. Jimmy is my favourite artist. ❤

Gotta check out Jimmy with Tina Turner “simply the best” also check out Jimmy Barnes with John Farnham “when something is wrong with my baby. Also check out Jimmy performing with his group Cold Chisel “when the war is over” and “bow river “ live Ringside 2003
If you have never hear of the great, Jimmy Barnes ( aka Barnsy) Jimmy was the lead singer of the most popular band of the 70s/80s Cold Chisel, check them out,You have opened up a 5oyr rabbit hole, get ready for the ride!
Check him out when he was a young wild man coving "wild thing" with the band "Cold Chisel" - live of course - drunk enough to kill a county vut still absolutely on point from start to finish
Man are you about to be taken on the ride of your life! Jimmy looked at America but refused to conform to record execs. Came back home and wrote “you got nothing I want” and he has been all ours ever since. My advice is to watch Jimmy live with the exception of Khe Sahn (do some research first to appreciate this masterpiece) and flame trees (though the video is now old, it tells the story). Enjoy🤪
th-cam.com/video/x4Wwq9_zn_c/w-d-xo.html - this is Jimmy's former band, Cold Chisel (live), and he's sharing the lead vocal with Ian Moss. Summary: he's also the best person in the universe you could ever have singing harmonies. th-cam.com/video/pcR6ML0Saew/w-d-xo.html - same song, many years later (he did this recording from his home during Covid). His note about 3½ minutes in might be the greatest vocal moment ever recorded. th-cam.com/video/mdxXiE3_AHE/w-d-xo.html - another live performance where Jimmy shifts between harmony and lead vocals. There just is no voice like his. th-cam.com/video/erSJGrpfnOI/w-d-xo.html - the one song that had some impact outside of Australia, and the one that solidified that he'd exceeded Cold Chisel as a solo artist. th-cam.com/video/XlVZ28ScttM/w-d-xo.html - another "during Covid" live performance from his home. He released this album in 2021, 48 years into his singing career, and I think it was his best work ever. Deep, touching, emotionally resonant. It's a song about his kids and gives some insight into what a great human being Jimmy is. th-cam.com/video/G-vwOHV2aVs/w-d-xo.html - a bit of a country duet, recorded live. Some flavours of Springsteen, but with a much higher end vocal. th-cam.com/video/crAgnI9BF6M/w-d-xo.html - a duet with Tina Turner. Greatest male rock vocalist, meet greatest female rock vocalist. Leaves me speechless!
Really appreciate you with all the info! Can’t wait to dig into these! His voice was incredible and literally blew me away! Thanks for hanging out and have a great one! 😁
Loved your appreciation of a great Australian artist. Jimmy Barnes is a national treasure and we in Australia have been loving his work since the 70s. Yes please, check out his solo playlist but also add some classic Cold Chisel, his former band. One of the best rock bands of all time! Definitely add the absolutely amazing Cold Chisel - "Bow River", live in June 2003 from their Ringside Tour (make sure you review this particular video, Chisel fans prefer this one). Thanks!
Here is Dr_KAP's 4K remastered version of Bow River from Ringside 2003, absolutely fabulous transformation from the fuzzy original - th-cam.com/video/KwZJGJu7vJY/w-d-xo.html
If you had the money the next lot of Cold Chisel concerts will be in New Zealand. They love the band and especially Jimmy just as much over there. One of his daughters is married to a kiwi and lives there. It may be your only chance to see Cold Chisel play live as they celelebrate their 50 years in the business.
You gotta watch his duet with John Farnham "If something is wrong with my baby" if you want to see more of his soul music or his version of "Wild Things" with his band Cold Chisel if you want to see his rock side
Just search Jimmy Barnes!! Pretty much every song hes ever done is awesome. But if you liked this song, then you'll like his cover of Mustang Sally, he does a cover of Chandelier by Sia, he does a couple of songs with another Awesome Aussie artist by the name of John Farnham, not sure if you have reacted to him yet. But thats another huge rabbit hole to dive into..😁😁😁
We’ve covered one John Farnham tune on the channel and he was incredible too! Loved this performance and the grit in Jimmy’s voice! Thanks for watching!
@@setonhillstudios yeah you have to dive into more Jimmy Barnes and John Farnham. Especially 2 songs they do together, " when something is wrong with my Baby" and "When the War is over"...They compliment each other perfectly..
@@aarondebattista6228 Yes, definitely John Farnham & Jimmy Barnes singing live (always the best with them) When something is wrong with my baby; anything else is also epic.
Unfortunately with Jimmy Barnes you've only got 50 years to catch up on cobber! 😁 His band Cold Chisel formed in '73(probably our biggest band through 70's & early 80's), then Barnsey went solo in '84 & has remained a chart topper till this day. He's put out at least 20 albums & 15 of those were number1. ✌️🇦🇺 Oh!.. & this song was written by Don Walker who was 'Chisels piano/keyboardist. He wrote most of their stuff, but all members wrote hits of theirs! 👍

New subscriber as Jimmy barnes is a legend. Along with another aussie legend John Farnham. John is considered the best singer in Australia by many and Jimmy and his band cold chisel are like royalty in Australia. Cold chisel are considered by many as best Australian band ever.. even ahead of other aussie bands like INXS and AC/DC. Jimmy does great duet with INXS.. the songs is called goodtimes,
Thanks for the sub and stopping by! We checked out John Farnham on the channel not too long ago and he blew me away! So much talent out of Australia! 🇦🇺
Check out early Cold Chisel !!!
Enjoy🤪
Thanks for the backstory and suggestions!
th-cam.com/video/x4Wwq9_zn_c/w-d-xo.html - this is Jimmy's former band, Cold Chisel (live), and he's sharing the lead vocal with Ian Moss.
Thanks!
Ringside Tour recorded live in June 2003 at the Hordern Pavillion in Sydney
Thanks for the suggestions!
Here is Dr_KAP's 4K remastered version of Bow River from Ringside 2003, absolutely fabulous transformation from the fuzzy original - th-cam.com/video/KwZJGJu7vJY/w-d-xo.html
I think they also did a cover of Lazy by... blank, and knocked it for 6.
Lord luvs flippin ducks, you gotta check out there epic cover of Lazy.
The best recorded video I have ever seen . Cheers!
I just left the last comment and I really like this guy he reminds me of delbert I think you would love him
Thanks for the suggestion!
You gotta watch his duet with John Farnham "If something is wrong with my baby" if you want to see more of his soul music or his version of "Wild Things" with his band Cold Chisel if you want to see his rock side
Jimmy Barnes was born in Scotland 🏴
He is Aussie now
Jimmy and TINA TURNER…. 👌
You now need to do their deep purple cover of lazy
The musician's in this song withi jimmy's voice to top it off
Check out Joe, Jimmy and crew destroying "Lazy" by Deep Purple... it'll grow your hair back! ;)
Oh snap! Thanks so much! Definitely have to check that out!
Unfortunately with Jimmy Barnes you've only got 50 years to catch up on cobber! 😁
His band Cold Chisel formed in '73(probably our biggest band through 70's & early 80's), then Barnsey went solo in '84 & has remained a chart topper till this day. He's put out at least 20 albums & 15 of those were number1.
✌️🇦🇺
Oh!.. & this song was written by Don Walker who was 'Chisels piano/keyboardist. He wrote most of their stuff, but all members wrote hits of theirs! 👍
Definitely ready to hear more and catch up!
Jimmy was in a band cold chisel. Look at there song i believe 2003 concert bow river concert
Sweet, thanks for the suggestion!
