Great review, really like how it turned out except a small editing error during the shot comparison. Man i CANNOT wait to buy one used for half the price at the end of next year, a dm getting 10+pods on a 68/45 thats incredible out of the box. The m2 tunned will kill any other spool for myself, i miss my dm6 so much and this will blow it out the park easily! big up DYE finally

It's funny and much appreciated that while it is pretty obvious that Dan isn't the biggest fan of this gun, he still points out counterpoints to the bulk of things he finds wrong with it (Reg Shims vs other designs, Mag trigger vs spring, eye pipe vs covers, mag trigger vs spring). Seems for the most part, all of those things are personal preference. The 2 biggest points of issue I see with the gun are the jewels rubbing off after only 3 weeks and the case not being designed to hold parts and pieces in snugly. Both seem like oversights to me and should be taken care of right away. I can live with the case but if I spend 1500 on a gun and parts start showing wear after only 2 or 3 weekends of play I will be extremely upset....here is hoping that jewel issue is not widespread...Great information as always ypbf, thanks for the time in effort and getting it out. PS - I thought the CS1 had a lot of parts and pieces inside of it that "could go wrong" - seems the same story here. I guess that's just the way of the future to some extent.
Got word today that Dye is changing the jewels on the back right now so they don't fade. and they will offer those free to anyone who has the old ones. - Dan

Im really thinking of buying this gun from you guys, and i have some questions: 1. When will the color swaps be available? 2. If the Center Medallion wears off easily, does that mean it will wear off faster or be weak if i do a color swap since you have to take it off? 3. Do you do color swap R-2's? 4. How the hell do i plug it in to charge? Does it have an outlet attachment? 5. If i buy a color swap, besides no new gun smell, are there any Cons? Thanks Dan. Amazing video :)
lol, I don't dislike you at all. variety of opinions are the spice of life. Right now dye is shipping a few at a time each week. We will do swaps as the guns come in to fill those colors. It is a USB to micro use cable to charge. use your phone charger or computer usb. The color swap won't get rid of the new gun smell and it won't wear out the emblem any faster. - Dan
Can i just point out a couple of those issues with the DM15 are just user error.. for 1, the bolt, in all DM's is tight to begin with till it gets used a little and the o-rings " soften " up - you can avoid that by lubing the 2 rear black o-rings properly once you get it from the factory. 2, don't over-tighten your barrels i mean, it's not hard just don't be an idiot -.-. 3 The eye-pipe is easy to get in if you read the manual and actually line it up so it slides in, i see so many people just jam it back in and force it while they twist it and go " Oh ! look it finally popped in " well no... if you actually take the extra couple of seconds and line it up correctly it SHOULD not always WILL but should just slide in nicely
I like the bolt system better on the PE Geo CS1 because it is more efficient while keeping the gun a smooth shooter. However, the exterior finish on the M2 is just about perfect. its a better looking gun imo.
Wow looks like a much better case. The old dye cases were pretty lack luster compared to other similarly priced competitors. I think a big improvement of the loose divider would be a velcro strap or a button snap. That passport is pretty sweet to be honest though I don't know how much use it'll get since I'm a set and forget kind of guy. The only thing that really concerns me is the durability of the hpr and lpr sensors and the oled screen. That placement of the screen and the size makes me wonder how well it'll perform if say a dive in the mud or a point in the rain. The plastic cover looks like it'll scratch pretty easily. Especially crawling and sliding. When doing the comparisons, were the guns straight out of the box? Or tuned and played with a little etc?
out of the box at the start. then about 2-5 cases at the end of the review. not tuned at all. we just used the m2 the whole weekend In the rain and didn't have an issue.
Great job guys, I picked up a GI Eagle LV1 from you, and love your reviews. Is it me or during the sound comparison test, the M2 sounds a bit sharper than the CS1/3.5? The PE guns seem to have a deeper note to them, it doesn't sound noticeably louder, just a higher sharper note to it.
@donald The spot in the case, that was empty, below the marker, there is another clear case (like what your oring parts kit comes in) that holds the two chargers! -hope this helps. Mine was not an empty spot
Thinking of buying an LVR, but wanted to ask what people mean when they say that the LV shoots difference? My issue where i live there no possibility to go and try the marker, i own a DM14 and before that a DM12.
so its it okay to run a SLP reg on my dye m2? i saw you did it in the video but just want to make sure. i really don't want to go out and buy a new reg/tank if i don't have to
you know.. i have a cs1 and it is quieter then the m2 from what i have seen and i just got one but yeah my only complaint was the case.... i hate opening it only for the barrels to all fall out like..... whoever was designing that was not thinking at all lmao.

Every review of an m2 I watch everyone says “people loose the shims” I wonder who is taking there regs apart and loosing shims, if your loosing your shims maybe you shouldn’t be pulling it apart lol
i just got mine and the asa keeps unairing itself. when pressure is put on the asa nipple from the tank it just moves back to the off position. anyone else have this? and recommendations?
Scam artist probably boxed it back up and sold it as “brand new.” Even though it wasn’t shot, nobody wants to buy something that had been tinkered with.

not sure how much you play paintball or not but I'm going to confidently say that you don't handle near the amount of guns that I do as a store. The feedback screw would strip often. We have had to get many replacements from dye. We also have older dms with broken eye pips, I did not run across any non working m2s at cup but that doesn't mean it didn't happen. my buddies on iron seem to have had no problems with them. - Dan
+Short Dan I think you have to up the sensitivity on the spire. Everyone I talked to said the spire will not keep up unless you up the sensitivity bc the guns shoots pretty smooth.

A lot of people used to crack their Eye pipes so that's why when you got a DM, you should've put an oring on the barrel, but I really want the M2 & I swear if there are a lot of problems, I'm gonna be pissed.

normally you have to push it up past the little bump. that's what holds it on
oh i think mine is defective because that bump makes almost no contact if any with the lever.

Sounds like an oring issue. If it's too tight, change it. That's why you have spares
