We have 3 iPad mini 5's in the house still going strong, they're awesome
They really are.
I prefer ipad mini 5 because of the form factor. Thinner and lighter. Chin and head bezel support hand grip and prevent hand fatigue. I got ipad mini 5 with 256gb and cellular and its my everyday carry. And the performance is still great. My wife have ipad mini 6, but i never like it. It was too heavy and thick. So ipad mini 5 is still great a great option for a small tablet.

I agree 100% ; I like the thinner edges so much more; more comfortable to hold and easier to balance on your chest when surfing in bed 😅
iPad mini 5th gen. was released in 2019... In 2021 it was discontinued.
I have been using the IPad mini 5 for more than 3 years now and it is the perfect device for my use. Use it mainly for note’s taking, content and reading books. Perfect size for reading I must say - easy to hold when lying down, not heavy at all and the bezels make it easier to put your fingers around without unintentional touches. Going to hang on to this until it breaks down completely and the next mini model comes along

Thank you for giving us a very objective and informative assessment, which I needed to understand if I can replace my IPad 5 , with a more recent , I pad mini …which is less pricey than the IPad 6th mini , which I now realise I don’t need to have . Being a 72 year old , retired bloke in South London , these decisions are quite important 😂
Those iPads are much more powerful than most people really need them for. The average user watches videos, reads websites/pdfs, checks emails and maybe plays games. Less then 1% of users edits videos or high res photos on them.
I bought an iPad mini 5th generation for $15 at the Salvation Army thrift store iCloud lock free but had a passcode I reset it via iTunes and it’s good to go 😊

What is the actual usable screen space in mm, height and length? I use GoodNotes 6 and would like to know if it renders A6 format completely in portrait mode.

The drawing is very good. Surprisingly good actually. The only problem is the size. Artists would prefer a larger iPad for the real estate.
