Ask him to go back to his hometown where he can pay after eating. SG is not his hometown. Different countries have different practices. Even in China, in many videos I've seen, the PRC Chinese pay before eating, especially at such food stalls. He's just a scammer.

If 10 customers eating before payment, how’s the hawker going to keep track how much each customer has eaten?
Luckily this tourist didn’t escalated the issue further otherwise if arrested he will probably pay 1000 times more.

It’s not that the Chinaman was “ignorant”.

Put a signage that customer has to pay their food first.
A small footnote indicate the seller has the right not serve to uncooperative customers.

No point. He can definitely notice that every customers at that place pay before consuming the food.
Probably he realised it and that's why he heavily enphasized on their China method.

Precisely, because PAP gives away passports to so many dubious PRCs and foreigners, even Thailand and many other countries now require Singaporeans to apply for and must have an ETA just to visit. Need no further proof how our international reputation is going down the drain, thanks LHL.

As a tourist, before coming to SG must do some homework what are the DOs and DONTs and laws in our country.
Must adhere, respect, and follow our country rules, laws, and culture🤨 for example go hawker centre, some tables reserved for handicapped use only. Queue up to board bus, train, buy food, or pay for groceries.
Showing courtesy and graciousness will leave a good impression with our fellow countrymen 🤗

Ask the tourist whether he can fly before paying, can he stay in the hotel before paying, can he join the tour before paying, can he watch a movie before paying, he has wasted the police time and should pay for the public service by the police.
This tourist obviously doesn't know "Do what the Romans do" but only know do what the Chinese do.

Don't be in a hurry to point fingers only at others. Please take note that this applies to Singaporeans visiting other countries too. There was an incident in Australia years back when two Singapore ignored the no swimming sign at a seaside and went for a swim in those dangerous waters and got caught by the currents. The life saving volunteers responded and saved those two Singaporean fools. Unfortunately, this came at the cost of the lives 2 of the volunteers, a father and son. The son's wife was pregnant and expect to deliver the baby roughly a month later.

  • @lazarusguan2388
    @lazarusguan2388 หลายเดือนก่อน

“入乡随俗”,the Chinese equivalent to what other netizens commented here. "When you are in Rome, do as the Romans do." So yes, this China tourist should abide by our custom. That being said, where the hell is the graciousness of Singaporeans? There is no black sheep among our own is it? Two of our own ignored the no swimming sign at a seaside in Australia years back and got caught by the strong currents. Those two fools were saved but 2 of the volunteered life guards died as result. One of them was about to become a father. Also, Singaporeans seems to have forgotten our humble history of being a small fishing village at first, look down upon by the the developed countries during that era, namely the US/collective west. And now, we have the bloody cheek to look down upon China's citizens, a country over 10000 times bigger than us with a population over 1000 times more than us. Not to mention having rich natural resources and even critical ones the US govt(but don't really have) need for their MICs, for green energy transition, our smart phones etc. "不知者无罪", can't fault someone who didn't know the rules. I said this more than 20 years ago and I can't believe I still need to say this again today, the way most Singaporeans criticizing this China tourist is just as uncultured and unruly as this China tourist. We Singaporeans call ourselves citizens of a developed country, but Singapore only developed in economy and technology, nothing more. Too many comments for this video to prove my point. Shameful.

I suggest the china tourist don't travel lol if they can't handle other country's food payment. Yes its official there is 2 types of payment. One pay first and the other pay after eating. Food Vendors are compulsory to put a sign board in mandarin and english for tourist understanding the country's payments style.

Haiz? Very misleading title. Most countries only pay after dining. In US, EU, the rest of the world follows this culture. Only in Singapore and Malaysia Chinese do otherwise because of its Street food union monopoly. Even in Malaysia, malays and indians restaurant let you eat first before paying. That is the most culture do. Dont visit Singapore. There better Asean countries where people eat first and pay after.
