Edit: It’s been 13 days and I keep getting “no you’re wrong” replies. If you play the best of old games then you’re not making a point. There’s slop every era, and good stuff every era. If you only play the good stuff it’s easy to see the past as better than it was and good stuff will always have new fans all its subsequent eras. Stay hungry for things to enjoy, less time sweating the bad stuff. ❤️ Original: Nah, you’re just getting older. We get a better sense of quality as we age, and a less easily amused. That’s why there’s a new hit show or band every five years. People age in and out of what’s made to appeal to them. I’m old enough to remember people saying gaming was dying during the 360/PS3 era, or when X-men 3 was considered the end of comic book movies.
@@franciscosariles No dude, you are wrong. Stop pushing nonsense. I can play Symphony of the Night today and have just as much fun as I had 25 years ago. I changed, but gaming changed more and changed for the worse. It’s undeniable, and denying it like you did paints you as a fool
@@mrg2155lol what? You have a fond nostalgia for an old game that hasn't changed in 25 years and that somehow correlates to the modern gaming landscape? Ok bro 😂
As someone who has played Criminal Girls: Invite Only, Take Me To The Dungeon, Living with Sister: Monochrome Fantasy, Eroico, Dohna Dohna and god knows how many VNs Real
Free games with microtransactions, I begrudgingly tolerate - they have to make money somehow, after all. But when the game has an upfront cost matching or exceeding the cost of single-purchase games, AND has microtransactions, it’s downright criminal.
Rocket league was one of those games where I had the same experience I already paid for it, and paid for the DLC I wanted Yet the game reeks of Free to play things like a paid battle pass and tons of cosmetics It’s a good thing it went free back in 2020, but sadly because I have a grudge against epic, I’m very unwilling to play it Oh and the same problem is in Dead by Daylight I just don’t understand why there’s still multiplayer only games that have free to play flags not be free to play
Play Warframe. You get the entire game for free and earn all kinds of items by playing the game, all of the paid-only items are community works called TennoGen
Exactly, obviously no company is giving things away for free so if the MTX are the only form of revenue then its 100% fair. But do not double dip, if you are already charging people just to play the game then stay out of Microtransactions.
Is it coincidence most the flops have been live service? No. It’s just an excuse for scummy publishers to release a halfassed game with missing content and features all while demanding more money up front for said content with passes and skins. This is why I love Stellar Blade so much, I have so much fun playing it so much so I wanted to support the studio more by upgrading to the deluxe edition.
Not really. Live Service allows them to actually make a profit. the 60 dollar price tag does not accurately capture the true cost of development. A deluxe purchase is still a one time buy. Live service, when done well, can be tons of fun. Consider a game like WoW, it is live service before that term even existed. It has a recurring monthly fee, and is by far one of the cheapest forms of long lasting entertainment
Western live service, chinese, japanese, and korean gacha games are successful as ever, and new non-gacha live service game like the first descendant is also successful

Unfortunately the people that worked at rocksteady during the Arkham trilogy aren’t there anymore. It’s a shell of a company that Warner is definitely looking to shut down
@@tengr0057yea When content creators introduce new games and then mention it was made by the studio that made this other popular and successful game In my mind I’m thinking but is it the same people that worked on it? a lot of people don’t think about that.
You mean Rocksteady. But, yes, the oldheads that made Bully, and the previous GTA games, and RDR/RDR2 are no longer in Rockstar, either. GTA 6 will sell very well, but I expect the actual game/story to be terrible.
People move on yeah, but they typically hire and train "protege staff" that fit into the company. That generation then carries on the legacy. @@RacerC45 Well the most popular new games are coming out of Asia these days. Wukong, FromSoftware games, Palworld, The exception this year being Baldur's gate from Larian Studios in Belgium. But that studio has always done things their own way.
@@gejamugamlatsoomanam7716 yes, but that's why we get surprised when a good AAA like game comes frm a western studio. Remember last year with Baldur's gate 3 ? it literraly started as an "indie" project, made by AA studio. It cames out being the best RPG we got in the last 20 years at least. And you had some people from other big AAA companies saying basically that it's not "fair" to expect this kind of quality. They're weird.
Something I think is important to keep in mind is that the rest of the world isn't the US, we don't want to follow US politics with every game installment we buy. The rest of the world isn't a melting pot, we don't have democrats and republicans etc. To me this is a bit like having to listen to your friends parents argue, you have no horse in the race, you don't want to be there, but you just can't escape it, it's at every turn. PLEASE, STOP. At least leave the rest of the world alone, we don't want to include the California demographic in EVERY SINGLE GAME we make or play.
Believe me, the US doesn't want to listen to "US" politics in these modern games. Many of us don't care, but for some reason, publishers or studios go to these consulting places that say "put more of this diversity in" at the cost of the gameplay, which just feels forced and artificial.
I'm American and even I don't want anymore of our politics which is why I enjoyed seeking out things outside the country because it was new and interesting to see. The fact that there are a lot of people here who legit get angry that other countries don't reflect the US while screeching about 'diversity' says a lot about how much they care.
Lining pockets with investor money before the game is even made. The quality of the final product is not important and often sabotaged on purpose. If it manages to launch and leech money out of players that's extra and if it flops they blame the gamers and use the flop as bait to attract more dumb investors.
Sorry to break the bubble but it's always been like this. The problem is not a business trying to make profit, the problem is that the business is not listening to their customers' feedback.
I play a ton of games. First descendant ,Helldiver2, Fortnite , fall guys, apex , COD. Recently got titanfall 2. What a breath of fresh air. No battle pass. No loot boxes. Not grindy. Only can buy a few cosmetics. Tf2 values your time. You can just have fun. Newer games feel like a 2nd job 😂
This is why AAA gaming should be allowed to collapse under its own weight. For too long they have been focusing on how much money they can strangle out of our wallets, instead of thinking, how can we make a fun game that makes gamers WANT to give us more money.
At the same time we should be thankful for all the talented devs who did their best to deliver fun and unique experience like with star wars battlefront 2 even though they worked for greedy studios. Those were so many years of pure fun for me
If concord's character designs released as a fighting game, I could confidently say it'd be the first time a fighting game actually dies, no 1 player labbing it, no 4 player tournaments, no community discord, not even a page on the Mizuumi Wiki where all the smaller more obscure fighting games go. Concord really is proof that when you have to sacrifice attractive character design to appease gaming journalists, you're just doomed to fail.
They forget that the truth is when you selling something you gotta make atleast Apealing so people would buy that shit then improve it along the way. Concord dump all of that then just serve shit on the plate then called it 'product' yeah... just amazing this shit is 8 year in the making and it took 2 week for it closes make me wonder where are there mythical creature called 'fans' of these type of game???. Absolutely. Fighting games are a genre where the appearance of the characters is even more important than in other genres. If the characters don't look cool, no one will want to play it.

Game studios are simply "doing too much". Games like Black Myth Wukong you are literally a monkey that bonks people on the head with a magical stick. That's it. We don't always need an in-depth social commentary on identity politics and diversity, sometimes we just want to mash buttons and beat up the bad guys. We need to return to simple times, basic gameplay, good mechanics. I just want to turn my brain off sometimes and play until I immerse myself fully in some kind of fantasy world and forget about irl problems for awhile.
Stellar Blade and Black Myth Wukong instantly had my attention when they were announced whereas I literally said "flop incoming" to a friend of mine when the first trailer for Concord dropped. The AAA game industry is completely out of touch with their audience/paying customer base. After the way this year has unfolded, they SHOULD be getting the message loud and clear as to what gamers REALLY want, but I doubt they will learn a single thing and we'll see more Social Justice pushing games that will likewise flop.
Let American developers suffer similar thing as their automaker counterparts in the 70s: cheap, reliable, efficient Japanese cars dominating the American market at that time.
People forget that the idea of fun can be different things to different people. Some might feel a visual novel as fun , some might like a deep story or adventure in a deep world. Some might enjoy intricate puzzle solving, and strategic gameplay. Some might enjoy turn based combat while others might love action oriented dodging , and precise movements. The point is that fun is just not the same for everyone. Many games can be fun. So, I won't say games have lost fun but we coming out with a lot more trash than before just so that companies play safe and make money
You could even make the argument that some people might find looking at badly designed and unappealing characters fun too. Which is exactly what the activist types want to normalise, having fun looking at ugly characters.

Capitalism kills creativity thru corporate structuring, endless growth and money grubbing mad men. Free enterprise where creative people put their money and get investments for their creative vision. That's where games and movies grow
There is a difference between capitalism (which is how most video games, even early arcade games, got made) and rampant hypercapitalism that doesn't care about long term growth. Thing is, we always blame the companies, but we should also blame players/consumers, trying and buying even tho they know what expects them or that they are going to be disappointed. But there´s also another problem, experiments are far less likely to happen. Imagine releasing a game like the first AC today (which was absolutely amazing in atmosphere, story and game play), would it lead to the release of a second game or would it be torn to shreds on social media (because the missions get repetitive)
I agree about the consumers being part of the problem, but i think we (as in people who watch video essays about video games...) tend to forget that most players are not like us. Most players don't give a fuck about all the issues that we see in the gaming industry, if they are even aware of them. Hell, many players right now are basically gambling addicts that spend more money on microtransactions and lootboxes in a month than i spend on actual full games in a year or two. You think those players even realize how their behaviour actively encourages the industry to further pursue all the anti-consumer bullshit practices? I think not...
make your characters cool and appealing, make it fun, make reasonable price. you make money when theres a community. why not build a game focusing on building a community, focusing on what they want. money comes then later. i dont get why thses companies cant seem to get it.
This is why i love the monster hunter franchise. Gameplay is always great, monster fights are always unique and interesting. They dont keep anything important behind paid dlc, only fun interactions. Great gameplay loop. And progressions isnt super complex, it can be if you want it to, but it doesnt have to be. Its my favorite francjise for a reason. Wukong and Monster hunter have the same vibe
Luckily, Nintendo still knows fun. After years of playing mostly shooters and rpgs I bought a Switch when I became a parent. I got it for my kid but I was surprised at how much genuine fun I've had with games like Super Mario Odyssey and Wonder. They're packed with content, variation, mechanics and secrets. Everytime I thought I'd seen everything they introduce something new to keep things fresh. I just wish there were more adult themed games of the same quality...
@johnbartender3451 Thanks for the tip, I played the Primes back when they released on the Gamecube. Remastered is really nice too. Wish they'd do Prime 2 and 3 also.
I got my Switch back in the Xbone/PS4 gen, and even back then i ended up using my Switch more than my PS4. Years later, I still use my Switch more than my PS5
@MelAncholynus If your looking for more fun games for you or the kids to play on the Switch, I recommend Metroid Dread, Kirby & Forgotten Land, Kirby: Return to Dreamland & maybe the Mario RPG'S like Mario + Rabbids or the remakes of Super Mario RPG & TTYD. I know you might be tired of RPG'S. But I think you might enjoy the Mario RPG'S more than any other RPG'S because they do things that not every other RPG has and that's being simple yet compelling and loads of fun.
The reason I keep going back to Stellar Blade is because it’s just genuine fun. It’s story and dialogue is nothing to write home about, but the combat and visuals and gameplay absolutely keep me coming back to the game. It isn’t seeking to be the “greatest game ever,” but that’s exactly to its benefit I think. Especially on Shift Up’s first major outing, that’s a *massive* accomplishment
Feels like those do more damage to an overweight person. Imagine watching that fat blue dude flying around in Concord easily and unbothered while you yourself huff and puff climbing up a flight of stairs at home.
Inclusivity that isn't in your face is the kind that works, not what Concord did. It's character design that's so safe and tried to appeal to everyone, and ended up appealing to no one. And I say this as someone who likes inclusivity.

I think more flops than successes has always been the norm, we just didn’t normally hear about flops before cause they’re usually flops made by smaller studios with little public exposure. These days, we’re seeing more surprise successes from small studios and indie games, and more surprise (if they still surprise) flops from big companies. It’s weird because we used to think these big companies were “too big to fail,” that with so much money, so many employees, such reputation and experience, they just knew how to make something work every time. But dang, have they’ve proven us wrong…
Black Myth looks fun, but I’d also like to add that Sun Wukong is one of the most popular character in East and South East Asia. Seriously, so many people read “Journey to the West” or saw a live-action or animated show before the MCU was born. They were primed for this game.

Not to mention a lot of the people I was playing with quit as well.
I wonder when companies will realize that people can't play every single live service game and only stick to a few with already a lot of time invested in it.
We are truly lost in nostalgia. "Arcade games where designed to be fun" they also was hard as balls to make you put in more quarters! Of course I agree with that businessmen are ruining the games. But we have a blooming indie scene
As I've gotten older and my desire to play games all day has died down, occasionally I've been going back and playing games that were released back when I was in high school and college but never played until now. While not every game was a massive hit, they've mostly been fun to play which is something I think has been lost over the past decade due to bloated budgets and monetization at every corner. In addition, games back then were pretty much ready on Day 1 and didn't require constant patches. In fact I'm still playing game on Xbox One and even my old 360 on rare occasions instead of spending almost $500 on the Series X or PS5.
The thing with suicide squad, it wasnt made by the arkham devs, the arkham devs left and made a new studio (Hundred Star Games) during development, its almost like they didnt want to sell themselves out to warnerbros by making that live service slop and warnerbros forced the rocksteady to do it and fill it with DEI

A few monthd ago my internet was bad so i decided to only play multiplayer with friends and dive into singleplayer games and omg its so fun. Dead cells, Sifu, Astroneer, etc are straight out if the box fun games that i can sink hours into
One of the major gripes ive had with modern "AAA" games is the micro transactions. I see it as big budget games taking a monetization strategy used for indie/mobile games to make money. Mobile games in particular are F2P initially MOST of the time. The devs don't get any money from downloads, they get money from ads and micro transactions... AAA are AAA because its big budget, and needs to be BOUGHT. developers are GIVEN MONEY to make the game and revenue is from GAME SALES. They had money to make them, the price is predetermined and preset to make that money back plus profit. Mobile games and indie devs DON'T get that luxury, they rarely have sponsors that give them a budget to fund development. Most mobile games are made with the devs own money, in their own time, and micro transactions are there so they can make SOME profit, if any. There is absolutely no reason, absolutely NO REASON, for AAA games, games you are ALREADY PAYING FOR, to have in-game purchases, to have micro transactions. THEY DON'T NEED IT. Its become so blatantly obvious how deep the tone deaf greed goes. They see how apps make money, and think they can do the same, completely ignoring the context for why that method of money making works and why it was implemented. The whole "political" bias and catering is a can of worms of their own, but i just hate how montization wise the route AAA has gone. Everything went downhill in regards to triple A games for me when they removed split screen from the Halo franchise. It has never recovered.
Disagree about companies trying to make a profit part.😂 "Modern Publishers" & "Modern Developers" put " THE SOCIAL MESSAGE" above all else. They all focus the smallest customer base (the 700 Modern Audience). Those "MODERN DEVELOPERS" sideline, belittle, ignore, attack the core or general customer.
this is looking at the past with rose coloured glasses a bit too much though. I remember arcade games and how horribly monetized they were. they made games harder and even flat out unfair to eat your quarters and they started to charge more and more for games with "full motion video" or that had some kind of ride on element like the motor cycle games. the amount of money spent for play time hurt almost as much as modern mobile games. some people really did love how difficult old arcade games got but that is a tiny amount of people compared even to just the segment of modern gamers playing comfy games alone. the reason i loved early console game so much was that finally i could play them as much as i want without the constant outflow of quarters. honestly the main reason the era of gaming from the late 80's to the early 2000s was so good was simply the lack of internet availability. if game companies could have pulled the same endless money grubbing for skins and dlcs and live service garbage in the 90's they totally would have. look no further than the pokemon and magic the gathering card games for how scummy video game companies wished they could be. (edit) now that I think of it look how scummy the Pokemon games always were, selling multiple versions of the same game with a few Pokemon cut out of them so you could never catch them all yourself.
obviously, nevertheless there is a distinct and noticable ubandunce of unoriginal live service games at the time which is the point of this video. I think what easy is trying to capture by saying the good old days of arcades is to buy a game for a set price that was simply made to be enjoyed not to consume.
You completely missed mentioning the key factor, fun. Which this whole video mainly focuses on lol those games in the 80s and 90s and 2000s were fun for their times. A good example is halo during the bungie years and now halo during the 343 years. The bungie halo games were played religiously by people back in the day and there weren't any skins or stupid prizes. It was just a fun game all around that didn't waste the players time. Now look at halo now under 343, it's just not fun and focuses on stupid skins.
Metal Slug is a fun game even though it is hard as hell, making you lose all your coins before stage 2. There is no such fun in modern slop. It is not just "rose colored glasses" the past really was just better.
I think diversity and inclusion is games is great, but not when it’s lazily done. Hate it when diversity and inclusion ends at “hmm let’s reskin the main character but give literally 0 nuance to them, just change their skin tone”. That’s when people are upset. When diversity is done right, like Wukong, drawing inspiration from real life sources and culture, it’s SUPER fun. A lot of people were saying how they liked Wukong because they knew none of the characters. They were new and interesting!! Modern day studios would just make a Black Zeus and say “here ya go, diversity”; instead, it was a studio that took a character from their own unique culture, and breathed new life into it. And people love that
YESSSS. THIS. People dont understand how frustrating it was to see new character from idk lets say from japan. And lets make it BLACK. And TRANS. Without any reason at all. No controbution to the story at all. It feels out of place and not deaerving. Why does my sexuality matter when the whole game im fighting agains dragons. Or agains a whole kingdom? People dont understand that forcing propaganda downs everyone throat is a bad decision. You dont have to put diverse character in the front menu to be represent a group. The easiest and simplest example is the sims 2. You can do everything you want there. Be as diverse as you want with your character. But no one finds problem in it? Why? Because its not forced and isnt feel out of place.

The "cost of games" you mentioned is a self-inflicted problem. If these companies would stop making $200 million games, they could afford to take more risks in their games. Stop spending the GDP of an entire small nation on making games. That's the solution.
When the halo music hit at 0:58 I remembered how much fun I used to have in the old days. I enjoyed pretty much any game I played, destroy all humans, halo, call of duty, ninja Gaiden and so many more. Having grown up I've slowly but surely lost the love I once had for gaming, I've watched halo sink, I lost interest in cod and I struggle so hard to find a game to enjoy nowadays honestly. If anyone has some good recommendations, I'd truly be very thankful.
Baldurs Gate 3, deserved to win game of the year and it did, small but GREAT studio. Buy it you wont regret it even if youre not familiar with the genre
You called out the COD crowd. Thank you. I know what you are getting at, on a much broader sense. It's not just the COD crowd; it's gamers in general. When we, collectively, tolerate corpo nonsense, and over time, it becomes rote and normalized, and the next generation of gamers grows up thinking X and Y and Z are all normal... companies can get away with pushing the envelope further and further. Scummy and exploitative corpo shenanigans are crappy, you'll get no argument from me there. But we gamers, as a whole, really do deserve half the blame. Remember when there was a firestorm of public backlash against the Xbox One's DRM at launch? Or the Helldivers 2 community on PC checked Sony for demanding they link their Steam account to PSN? We need more of that: gamers standing united and telling companies, you serve US. You want our money, you bow to US.
Funny thing is that Paladin, a hero shooter some consider a failure, has 3k active players compared to concord. But anyway, IDK what sony expected. The hero shooter genre is oversaturated and honestly kinda feels like it's coming to the end of life, kinda like the battle royale and zombie game trend we had so many years ago.
I never use traditional game reviews to tell me whether a game is good or not. if i hear about a game and it piques my interest i follow it. i also look at the devs and publishers to see if it has any possibility of modern gaming stuff (live service and microtansactions) And normally after i see a couple trailers as well i can usually tell if a game is gonna be good or not.
Sony did had success with Helldivers 2 but they screwed it up by nerfing the guns, and by doing the PSN account link for PC gamers. And made the game restricted and lost out on a market in several other countries, not to mention the community manager banning players. They did have a love service shooter but they killed it and lost out on their golden goose.
I feel as though one company that you should’ve at least give a shoutout to was Capcom. They have been making record breaking sales for 7 consecutive years because of this: video game sales and quality of games. Monster Hunter World and Rise, Street Fighter 6, Resident Evil 7 and 8 along with remakes of 1, 2, and 4, and Kunitsu Gami: Path of the Goddess have been very positively received and some even achieving critical acclaim. And lets not forget the fact that while most western companies are laying off employees left and right to save costs, Capcom gave all employees salary increases and bonuses. As an avid Capcom fan, I am just so glad to be living through this renaissance after living through its dark age in the eary to mid 2010’s.
Dustborn, the pro-left PsiOp project also failed. These aren't failing because they're live service, but because people don't want identity politics shoved down our throats. Most play games to escape the manufactured hate

Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door has a trans person in the cast, and is considered one of the best games ever. Modern Birdo from Mario is also considered trans, so any game she’s in is also woke. It’s your choice to not like woke stuff, but saying it “needs to go” is just needlessly restrictive for all game devs.
Honnestly? One of my favorite games this year was helldivers 2, but even then it got hit by sony really hard, at least appart from the escalation of nerfs update, that was them, but they listened and fixed it. It sometimes really hurts seeing what companies do to appease investors. I mean sony wanted to make a psn account mendatory and the devs had to listen, excluding a large part of the playerbase. They rolled it back, yet a lot of the players are still locked out. HD2 was a massive success on launch. It still is, but sony really hurt it.
Unfortunately, the forces behind the scenes destroy the gaming industry by forcing this agenda crap to the games. They don't care how much money they lose or how many gaming companies are destroyed. They have higher plans for us. Not only in the US, but also in Europe and slowly in Asian countries too. I missed those 90 - and 2000 era when companies making videos games for us to enjoy and have fun, such good and woke free games we have on those days 😔
Hope you wrong tho. If they smart they change it if they want PROFIT but if they pull the Joker card 'it's not about the money it's about the massage' crap then we gamer are doom 😢
Higher plans? What plans are those? Stop acting like a doomsayer. It's not "forces behind the scenes", it's forces like Sweet Baby Inc. that are ruining gaming. Developers like Ubisoft are bloating the AAA market with complete slop. Coincidentally, Sweet Baby Inc. was founded by ex-Ubisoft devs. Who'd have guessed, the worst "narrative development and consultation studio" in the world was made by the worst video game development company in the world.
Yes. Wukong and Stellarblade gave me the same feeling. Just a joy and somehow generous feeling. What a chore.
Not just modern gaming, but also modern comics, shows, and movies as well.

It’s been 13 days and I keep getting “no you’re wrong” replies. If you play the best of old games then you’re not making a point. There’s slop every era, and good stuff every era.
Then why does a based game from Japan like Elden Ring have Body Types instead of male and female characters as well?
Believe me, the US doesn't want to listen to "US" politics in these modern games. Many of us don't care, but for some reason, publishers or studios go to these consulting places that say "put more of this diversity in" at the cost of the gameplay, which just feels forced and artificial.
I'm American and even I don't want anymore of our politics which is why I enjoyed seeking out things outside the country because it was new and interesting to see. The fact that there are a lot of people here who legit get angry that other countries don't reflect the US while screeching about 'diversity' says a lot about how much they care.
The arrogance of Americans is baffling.
What games are you playing? Not once have I played a game from this year and anyone stopped to go on about abortion rights or whatever.
Modern games are more about pleasing investors and lining pockets rather then fun and creativity.
Lining pockets with investor money before the game is even made. The quality of the final product is not important and often sabotaged on purpose. If it manages to launch and leech money out of players that's extra and if it flops they blame the gamers and use the flop as bait to attract more dumb investors.

Just perspective and confirmation bias
Black Myth looks fun, but I’d also like to add that Sun Wukong is one of the most popular character in East and South East Asia. Seriously, so many people read “Journey to the West” or saw a live-action or animated show before the MCU was born.
They were primed for this game.
Here’s the solution.
Make these new games fail on purpose.
MAKE sure you play older games, until this “modern” bs games dies off.
Easy accepted that helldivers are dying and decided to become a general video game youtuber.
Well, good luck,man
Lol! far from the truth. He streams different games. Some I play. Some I don't. One I haven't got him to play with me yet. But he does have a life and schedule just like me.
Well, as somebody that was there kind of from the beginning and got a solid 300 hours of gameplay out of it. I feel like I at least got my money's worth I had a lot of fun with that game. When they did the nerf with the flamethrower and the breaker incendiary right as they released the flamed theme battle pass. That was the final straw for me. Not to mention a lot of the people I was playing with quit as well.
Some would say Wukong relies on one of the oldest IPs around 🐒 👑
I wonder when companies will realize that people can't play every single live service game and only stick to a few with already a lot of time invested in it.
The destined one from WuKong is a furry, how inclusive is that.
Monster Hunter is My Favorite game, Me and my Calico Palico with Giant swords, Giant monsters, underdogs that will hunt these beasts... It's Fantasy that's what a game should be... An escape without any attachments Just you living a different life in FUN.
I cant agree enough. I used to only play multiplayer games like Valorant, Overwatch, and Tarkov on my free time.
There is no modern gaming, they are just bad games.
There is modern gaming.
@@tankarmeng8982no, those are bad games, aka: American games
They’re definitely not the only ones guilty of it.
Sony censored stellar blade as it was too “revealing” lmfao
this is looking at the past with rose coloured glasses a bit too much though.
There was an inbetween period that was neither the 80's/90's nor the 2020's.
As a kid I never had more than a few dollars of quarters at any given time. How are you seriously comparing that to mobile games in regard to expense?
Metal Slug is a fun game even though it is hard as hell, making you lose all your coins before stage 2.
There is no such fun in modern slop.
It is not just "rose colored glasses" the past really was just better.
First mistake concord ever done is made it $40
I didn't even know Stellar Blade was coming out on PC! I really hope the port isn't butchered.
Fantastic video man! Keep these video essays coming!
Just got into ps gaming. Buying so much stuff on steam sales seasonal. Never gonna pay the full price for anything 💀. 90% 80% maximum 70% sales.
@MrVal05 what a dumb take. Nothing is being forced down yout throat unless you choose to consume it.
@@gustavgustav2670 oh come one. Read your own reply again.
"Nothing is forced if you consent" lmao.
Who the hell bought a prehistoric japan game. And edpect "ph yea i want an out or place black character that obviously wouldnt exist and would not be able to become a samurai in that era, totally reasonable"
I appreciate you for providing insightful information and factual arguments in regards to the video game industry. Oh believe me I'm beginning to hate gaming journalist a little more each day for the way they try to manipulate and lie by omission of facts.
Gaming is more about the investors in stock the reason they want live service is because profits at the end of each quarter would be good it’s going to ruin gaming you won’t see very many single player games I bet soon!😢
Fun will only end up winning, if gamers stop purchasing the yearly release of Call of Duty, Assassin's Creed, FIFA (ow whatever it's called now), Madden, etc., if you keep buying them, playing them, and spending in-game, things will only get worse, and you won't have any fun with your games.
No fun on xbox, because the games come on ps5 mostly 😢
So u like hack and slash games. Action games. Like me. Here is a list.
Steller blade
Black myth wukong
Bayonetta
Heavenly swords
God of war 1(OG)
God of war 2
God of war 3
God of war ascension
Devil may cry 1-4
Devil may cry 5 special edition
Nier automata
Uncharted 1-4
Uncharted lost legacy
Last of us (wish there was a last of us 2 oof)
Ninja gaiden 1-3
these are a few that I could remember at the moment I wrote the comment. Got any more? No open world, rpg, looter shooter or fps games. K it has to be a straight forward action game minimal open world.
@@viggolito :O noted thanks, idk why I just saw this but thank you!
I miss when Warner Bros cared about their game quality like mad max
We all do.
that game is great
@@Kkkka1153 The bosses were rather repetitive, i agree, but the car combat felt very good, and the landscape was beautiful
@@Kkkka1153 Mad Max was amazing
No, anything woke, greedy, and no effort in story telling has ruined modern gaming.
Balder’s Gate 3 is extremely pro-left. Maybe wokeness isn’t a variable in games being good or bad. Maybe it’s just whether or not a game is good or bad.
@@thesmallscout9810BG3 would failed when they forced everything sadly The left pushed that garvage game so hard but in the end Real Gamer who are not woke will win
@@thesmallscout9810woke must go i will not touch one of this 💩
@@azizalfa752 Balder’s Gate 3 is considered to be one of the best games ever, and it’s woke as hell. Bioshock is woke as hell. Any game with romance options that doesn’t restrict you to man x woman relationships is woke, including Mass Effect.
BG3 was universally praised by everyone of both sides of the political spectrum. Not just the left. In what way does it “force” wokeness anyway?
You hit the nail perfectly. Better couldn't been said. Great video.
Modern WESTERN gaming, and media in general.

MY MAN ❤
the original tetris is super basic and is still fun today
When this man started with the dictionary definition of entertainment I knew I had to sit down for this one.
When I was a young kid, I enjoyed playing multiplayer games. By the time that I grow older, I play single player games instead.
When AAA developers/publishers stop making games for games journalist things will start to get better.
"Woke free games"
You mean games like cod who were full of propaganda?
I agree. One of my teachers' once told the class ,"The best is the enemy of good enough."
Patrolling the Mojave almost makes you want Easy to talk about Fallout New Vagas.
new vagas :D
Yes. Wukong and Stellarblade gave me the same feeling. Just a joy and somehow generous feeling. By comparison a lot of other games I just feel constantly on edge, not because I'm riveted but because I'm trying to figure out the most economic way to play the game, not get ripped off and not get left behind. What a chore.
