  • Come with us on a new adventure as we go searching for a historic rubbish tip deep in secluded Scottish woodland! Our search leads us to a 1940's-1960's tip where we find "bucket" list items (literally) and an array of finds dating back over 100 years! Amazingly, two of our incredible finds leads us to the descendant of the very man who made them and our best finds story yet!

Amazing, how two little Ink Wells have created such a wonderful family history story. How kind of both of you to be willing to share this story and re-unit the INK WELLS to the family that created them. This could make for a classic type Children Book, your channel is so entertaining. The nature photos are beautiful and worthy of a gallery showing. Thank you, and blessing to you both.

Adorn the blank walls of your outdoor sheds and their doors with your interesting large metal pieces. You could probably sell all the neat bottles you choose to leave behind. Enjoy your program so much.

I started back to college in the '80's. One of my teachers was a professor Phillips. He explained that he was from THAT Phillips family and when he was small he had two nannies...as it turned out, they were the two sisters who wrote the "Happy Birthday" song. He was quite elderly at the time and this was nearly 20 years ago. I frequently wish I could talk to him again, but I'm quite sure he's no longer with us. So...there's another connection from your cobalt bottle to a viewer's early education professor. I love watching the two of you. Keep it up...I don't think you really know how much you are appreciated!

You know what would be really cool to do is take the pieces of the broken ceramic pocket watch and cast the missing pieces in silver and then put it together in a mixed media art piece.

How kind and thoughtful of you to get those ink wells to the family! About the die cast toy with Condon England on it, Condon Products Ltd. was formed in 1949 when a Don Rix left the die cast maker Lesney. They made a model of the Muir Hill dumper in diecast. Due to restrictions on the use of materials for non essential products during the Korean War (1951), very few of these models were made and business ceased. Lesney toys was the precursor of Match Box toys.

One of the best parts of your mudlarking, digging, finding -- is that you don't just sit back and admire your finds. You dig into the history, the stories that these little pieces of history uncover -- and in this case you connect up the historical with the living-breathing people of today who are connected to that history.... Love it!

In the 1970s when I was in my early 20s I used to buy a small little glass pot of salmon paste. could make two or three sandwiches from this. I was very poor young woman and it used to cost 11 cents for one. I remember buying a loaf of bread and one jar for under 25 cents Canadian. It was in a little Italian store in my neighbourhood. Wish I could still find it.

Those little ink wells look like they would fit in my antique school desk. In the 70s, when my best friend was teaching, they cleared the old desks from storage and sold them for a dollar each. I still have it! How lovely to send these to the manufacter's family! I think the bird plate may be Japanese Luster wear.

Just FYI -- It is not AI sauce, it is A1 sauce. Not the letter I, the number 1. A1 sauce is British in origin (originally created by Brand as you said, for the king. He then marketed it in Britain as Brand's A.1. Sauce (the number 1). However, it has not been available in the UK in decades. It is very popular in America however.

If it were me I would hang the sign, back splash, on the wall in my craft room so I could enjoy it while working. I do love old things and I think it's beautiful just the way it is. Here we all are going through the rustic farm house phase in decorating and that piece is perfect . You girls have a big hearts and I know the lady who is receiving the ink wells will love you for your gift .

Wooohooo 50k!!! What a wonderful achievement not only the 50k but to connect history to present by finding the relatives connected to your findings. You did an entire 360 from finding it to discovering the history to getting together with existing family. It just gave me goosebumps!

Stick it upright in your flower garden as backdrop. Place the metal bucket planters around it. White flowers would look lovely
