I just had a good idea for something for your Etsy shop! You should do Mystery Boxes filled with things you have an abundance of or things you find quite often and you could do like a 10 item box, 20 item box and so on! That would be so fun for your viewers who live places where they can’t go to old Victorian bumps! Much love from Toronto Canada❤️❤️

Legend has it that the rare Alexandra can be lured with gifts of small beads and tiny doll parts. Under no circumstances do you present her with a Thomas White pipe bowl however or she will flee, never to be seen again.

Ever since you guys did the Q&A and said people told you to slow down your driving at the beginning of the video when it's in fast forward it makes me laugh that some people actually thought you were driving that fast.

I never thought they were driving fast ha ha. I always knew it was fast forwarded. I jokingly said one time they should slow down because it was making me really sick or dizzy or something of that sort. I don’t know how many people actually seriously thought they were driving that fast. That would be completely ridiculous

You could say you have been out, "Midden Scratching", the old archeological term for dump digging. You are the best, "Northern Midden Scratcher's", and today's adventure was a true delight.
Gail nearly made me keel over laughing with her, "...Alexandra in her natural environment." ha ha ha. I loved it! Look out David Attenborough! You found so many wonderful things and had so much fun, and shared it all with us. You two are truly treasures.

As for the bottle fragment with "J. Bouch, Black Bull Hotel, Carlisle, I was only able to find out a little. It was also known as the Black Bull Inn, and it was located on Annetwell Street in Carlisle. Joseph Bouch was innkeeper there in 1907. It was very difficult even finding THAT out. Apparently "The Black Bull" was a very popular name for establishments well before 1907 and even now! If I find out anything else, I'll let you know!

Gail, your narration of the scene with Alex in the wild was so clever and her filming of nature between the finds is my favorite part of the videos, except for the intro, the music, the history of the items, the round up, the creations . . . That one rust stained "arm" looks to me much more like the leg of a cat or dog. Not sure how common it was for porcelain animals with moveable limbs, though. But it sure looks like a leg of a cat or dog, and more like a paw than a hand. ^^ What great finds :D Great place you found there. Must go back and make more videos there. Hello! My name is Audrey and I’m writing from the U.S. When I first stumbled upon your videos about a month ago I had never heard of mudlarking. I began to watch your videos with great interest because I enjoy finding “treasures” myself. When I get to travel to a beach one of my favorite things to do is search for seashells. It’s extremely calming to me. When I’m home and the season is right I enjoy hunting for arrowheads and other Native American artifacts in the fields. I guess I’m not unlike you ladies as I enjoy the hunt and the excitement! When I began watching your channel I couldn’t help but binge watch 😊 now I await each new addition to your video collection. You ladies have a fascinating life and a wonderful relationship and I think that is an absolute blessing. Your talents are amazing! That being said you two make me nervous sometimes when searching without protective gloves on. I’m so afraid you are going to get cut or stuck by something and get hurt. Either way I will still be tuning in to see your latest adventures. I enjoy seeing the beautiful land and seascapes where you are. I have never been to that part of the world. Thank you for sharing and bringing us along on your adventures!

I have meant to let you know I was so inspired by your channel when we went to Brora during the summer I took our foster kids down to the beach looking off sea glass. So keep up the great work xox

Quite a bit of an exciting hunt. I immediately thought of “dump skimming” for such an activity. Or “hillside skimming”. 🙂 The mourning buttons are always beautiful. I was happy to have found one small one.

If an area has been mined for bottles you are sifting through the mine tailings (tailings are what we call the displaced soil from old gold mines here in New Zealand), so that is another set of words for youto juggle with. Love the channel and the treasures.

I loved your tip about when you see ash or charred wood that it is evidence of a dump....I have found areas like this in woods in America...I am going to pay attention to them from now on...thanks. (this dump looked like so much fun...I sure wish I could be there ...how much fun)

it's called SCRATTING!! my dad used to say that's what we wer doing when I was a little girl digging bottles with him and we were on the surface ❤️ that was 45 years ago and I'm still SCRATTING now 😂
