WM17 still to this day is the greatest wrestling PPV of all time. We will never see a card that stacked from top to bottom. Also, WM38 had some stinker matches on that show. The worst match on WM17, was an Eddie Guerrero match, that tells you how good WM17 was. WM19 is a very close second though.

One thing about the pandemic era is that some of the promos felt so real and personal. The promo Edge cut before Wrestlemania 37 could very well be the greatest promo of his entire career. The contract signing between Roman and Drew is one of my favorite segments of all time. The pamdemic era was a weird time and most of it feels like a fever dream, but I think WWE deserve credit for that era because they came out of it much stronger as a company than what they were when they entered. In a way, the pandemic era brought them back into mainstream.
X-Seven is my all-time favorite and will most likely never be topped. But I will say that the Firefly FunHouse match and the Boneyard match from thirty six were both amazing, especially considering the circumstances. I'm not really sure if I have a least favorite though, I kind of just tend to blur not so great ones out of my mind.😂
I'll agree 27 was the worst. Peak PG era trash. 17 is my favorite for obvious reasons, I was an attitude era kid. Yeah, Stone Cold turning heel marked the end of the era but I feel that it was like a curtain call. Attitude era was fun and amazing, now let's see how WCW guys will do in WWF with a heel Austin.
Attitude era was awful . So much trash cringe content. PG era had a lot of that as well but I think nostalgia blinds people into just how much trash the attitude era was spewing out
WrestleMania 28 was really really good too. From the shock quick win of Sheamus defeating Daniel Bryan for the WHC in 18 seconds, all the way to Team Teddy vs Team Laurinaitis, CM Punk vs Chris Jericho was really good too and finishing with one of the best WM Maint Events of all time with Rock vs Cena "Once in a Lifetime" match
As a kid I went to MSG and saw Wrestlemania 10. The Shawn/Razor ladder match, Bret vs Owen which to this day is probably the best opening match of any Wrestlemania ever, and then Bret on everyone’s shoulders after beating Yokozuna. To me that’ll always be my favorite
The thing about 17 is that the Rock and Austin were two of the biggest celebrities at the time …not just wrestlers. Raw and Smackdown averaged somewhere close to 7 million viewers back then. There will never be another wrestlemania like that again, because wrestling will never be that popular again.
My personal favorite Wrestlemanias are 21, 19, and 17. Those three capture perfect moments in their respective eras with almost every match on each card being gold. My favorite matches on each was Orton vs Taker, Austin vs Rock III, and Kane Vs Raven vs Big Show. Even those are kinda hard to say because there’s so many other greats
I think wrestle mania 21 is often overlooked. -First ever MITB match (phenomenal match ofc) -Eddie vs Misterio (Eddie’s last mania match and was fantastic) -Angle vs Michaels -Taker vs Orton -Batista vs Hunter in what would be the end to the reign of terror -Cena’s first tittle victory
I always feel like I enter a different reality in not liking Wrestlemania 38. Night 1 of 39 is top 3 for me and FULLY agree about Otis and Mandy... Still upsetting that didn't happen in front of a live crowd.
I liked 38, but I definitely feel it’s overrated. Both matches involving the Royal Rumble winners were disappointing, Night 2 was just average and there’s not excuse for leaving both the Intercontinental and United States Champions off the show when you have a 2 night show that runs almost 8 hours in total.
On the empty arenas: Gunther and Draganov had that classic on NXT UK where the lack of noise ENHANCED the match, surely by design. That’s the one pandemic match worth watching.
I loved the no crowd era got so many unique segments and insanely good promos. Example, Roman’s promos from that time period where perfect and could not have been done with a crowd chanting “what” every 2 seconds. Then we got the cinematic matches which i loved each one, it was something different. I want more than just the same backstage areas week to week and that era provided that for me.
Love all the beginning of the Bloodline stuff from the pandemic era, that was cool. Also the Seth Messiah stuff was cool too. I go back and watch those sometimes
Best: X7, XIX, XXIV, XXX, and recently XL Worst: XXVII and then honestly XXVIII (I have no idea how anyone defends this Mania as one of the best ever, so so incredibly overrated)
@@joshuamelton9148 close second on mine. The thing that saves it from the worst is the total presentation, the opener and the Steiner/Headshrinker match

Yeah, but thanks to Chris they cant talk about it. Benoit belongs in the HOF without question, just like Chyna, but between their terrible life choices and a simple google search, it’s never going to happen. (Yes, Chyna is in as part of DX, but she’ll never get inducted individually.)
I think you could tell that they really would’ve loved to talk about it and they aren’t ashamed of Benoit’s career in their company but they obviously hate what he did and it would look bad on them if they were to acknowledge him.
@@Deathpool_04 thing is though, what pisses me off with WWE is that they're not acknowledging great iconic moments from so many wrestlers careers because it involves Benoit. A classic example would be the Royal Rumbles 2000-07 aren't uploaded to YT because he's in it It's not fair on Batista, Undertaker, Rey Myserio etc. You could even argue the 2004 one where Benoit won, lots of great moments happened in that match for other wrestlers
@@Batmanthe3rd Well, if we are talking about the WMXX ending with Benoit and Eddie, unfortunately that’s a Benoit moment even though it’s also a great Eddie moment. I do agree that it’s sucks that a lot of great moments and matches can’t be talked about due to his involvement. He didn’t do those great matches or had those great moments by himself but so many people would hate the fact that they acknowledged someone that murdered their wife and son before killing themselves and I wouldn’t blame them for that.
Austin turning heel wasnt the problem. And the match ending is iconic. The aftermath was the problem. If Rock didnt have to leave or if Triple H could've stayed healthy long enough to turn face I think we would be looking at Austin's heel run differently.
I think the bigger error was trying to kick off a major storyline with the 2 Man Power trip when they already had the Invasion storyline on the horizon........ I'm not sure what they intended to do with the 2MPT thing tbh..... They only really had a Kane/Taker duo that could feasibly stand up to them and they burned through that pretty quickly. The SCSA heel turn could have just been saved for a pivotal moment in the Invasion instead. Everything after WM17 was a clusterfck anyway; so whatever, I guess........
I still think mania 19 is my favorite. Return of Michaels at Mania, Austin’s last real match, Brock and Angle, the only downside was the ending to triple h/booker t match.
WrestleMania 17 is The Absolute G.O.A.T of WrestleMania’s and No one can tell me different!!!! Wrestling was on its Absolute Top at that moment! 2 Baby Faces in Rock and Austin! The Attitude Era Card was literally all Future Hall of Famers!!!!
27 is the worst, no doubt. But I'll always hold a grudge against the 34 main event. Worst Mania main event, easily. Fans hate the entire match, with chants of CM Punk, Nicolas, "you can't wrestle," and "bullsh*t". And then Brock just wins again. Vince's biggest "screw you" to all fans.
You could also say WM 39 was one of the best just because it had some great matches. Rhea vs Flair for the title, Fatal 4 Way tag team match, Rey vs Dom 1, Owens and Zayn vs The Usos for the Undisputed Tag Titles, Rollins vs Paul, Triple Threat match for the IC Title, Bianca vs Asuka for the Women’s title, Finn vs Edge in the Hell in a Cell match and who can forget Cody vs Roman 1 for the Undisputed WWE Championship (which the ending of that main event ruined the end of the show) i still think if Cody would’ve won that main event, it would’ve capped off to what could’ve been the greatest WM of all time in my opinion.
WM 17 is untouchable. It’s in a league of its own. Argument can even be said for WM 19 which phenomenal as well, but I agree worst WM was 27 Triple H VS Undertaker is the only thing good about it. The rest of the show absolutely terrible. It’s not the wrestlers fault just wrong booking and wrestlers facing the wrong person and terrible build up.
@@alphanerd7221Holy cow no it is not. WM16/2000 is probably one of the bottom 5 WrestleManias. There wasn’t one singles match on that card, and all of them except the Triangle Ladder Match sucked. That ladder match was fantastic- and that was of course the best match.
I know Wrestlemania 14 probably won’t be in a lot of folks top 10 but the build up with Tyson in the mix along with Austin & HBK was pretty cool! Also Kane tombstoning Pete Rose was awesome and he had the match with Taker for the first time! Wrestlemania 12 had the greatest wrestling match of all time with Bret Hart vs HBK.
I remember i had gotten a Stone Cold 12 inch action figure that christmas before Austin turned heel and i just remember being so disappointed afterward and my main thought was "I just got the coolest Austin figure and now he ruins it by turning heel" lol

WWE was boring. people were walking out main events.
38 is definitely a great one, that doesn’t get mentioned much, so glad to see that get some love here. Bianca vs Becky, Seth vs. Cody, triple threat tag title match, Logan Paul’s tag match, Knoxville vs. Zayn, Owens vs. Austin, were all great, and I really found the McAfee portion entertaining.
@TheWrightMovies Yeah, that main event was the epitome of underwhelming. If they had that last man standing match from SummerSlam on that Wrestlemania, we would obviously look at that main event differently
@@javico_1155 that has been the case since 2 Night mania began, for me atleast. Night 1 really sets up the expectations to the limit. Night 2 starts strong, and by the mid way point, it is always underwhelming. I have yet to see anyone say that Night 2 > Night 1 for any WrestleMania.
Every mania since wm37 (37,38,39) could have been undoubtedly Ben top 10 manias if it weren't for them always losing momentum on night 2. I am pretty sure u can still make arguments for any of them being top 10 still but if they didn't mess up night 2 each time, they would have strong reasoning to be top 10

The Boneyard match was the silver lining of WM 36, stopped Taker who was admittedly chasing that last great match, & Metallica’s “Now That We’re Dead” was just the perfect song to have him arrive and depart too 🤘

We’re being too forgiving to 9 because it has a ton of nostalgic moments. But as a PPV, it stank. And the ending is still the biggest travesty of any Mania.
WrestleMania 34 is the worst by lightyears. Asuka losing to Charlotte is the stupidest, most ill conceived booking decision ever in the womens division, Jinder Mahal won the US title, Taker and Cena was an under 3 minute match just to troll Taker (Taker says this himself, Vince found it funny because Taker had been training for a 30 minute classic), Nia Jax won the womens title, Nakamura lost to AJ in that horribly disappointing WWE title match, a 10 year old won the tag titles, and Roman/Brock was rejected so bad the audience were playing with beach balls.

Of course most people agree 17 is the best one but my personal favorite will always be 21. The first Wrestlemania Goes Hollywood. They made spoof trailers with the wrestlers. The Taxi Driver one where Batista's asking the guy what his line is and he keeps saying "Are you talking to me?" is classic! The Wrestlemania that put John Cena AND Batista at the top. 21 is my personal favorite. It launched both Cena and Batista, MITB debuts, Angle/HBK have a classic, Taker/Orton is also good, Rey/Eddie have a banger
WrestleMania 28 has been my favorite since it happened. My favorite match of all time (End of an Era), my longest confirmed match build ever and possibly the most hyped match ever (Cena vs Rock), a fantastic (and not talked about enough) WWE title match (Punk vs Jericho), and possibly just the most hyped I've been for a WrestleMania in general... Honestly Night 2 of WM 38 was horrible. Sami vs Johnny was the only thing I liked
WM 17 is horribly overrated. Outside of Austin Rock, TLC 2 and Angle Benoit the rest of card was meh
@@Titanscw Angle vs Benoit, Austin vs Rock, TLC 2, McMahon vs McMahon, the hardcore triple threat, Chyna vs Ivory, and Undertaker vs Triple H. The most overrated WrestleMania is WM30, without question. That WM is hard carried by Triple H vs Daniel Bryan and the Triple Threat to close the show. Undertaker vs Brock Lesnar sucked and so did everything else on that card.
@@Supreme_Valentine McMahon vs McMahon was lame as was Chyna vs ivory. Everything was either ok or bad
@@Titanscw WM30 was a bad show outside of those 2 moments. The coast to coast during McMahon vs McMahon was crazy and the match wasn't bad. Chyna vs Ivory was for the great moment of Ivory finally losing and Chyna getting her payback. The worst matches on the WM17 card were Taz and the APA vs Right to censor and Eddie Guerrero vs Test. WM30 had the horrible divas battle royal match, John Cena vs Bray Wyatt, Brock Lesnar vs The Undertaker, and The Shield vs The new age outlaws and Kane which were all trash. WM30 gets remembered as a top 5 WM when it shouldn't even be top 15. Also, the WM30 Triple Threat is damn near a carbon copy of WM20's Triple Threat with Benoit vs Triple H vs Michaels. WM30 ain't the worst Mania, but it shouldn't be top 15.
WM35 was brutal. Felt like an eternity, no Undertaker & if you got home at 2am, you were lucky. Best part of the night was the dueling chants of "Turn the lights off" "Can't see S*it"
It was weird. Everyone who is normally good, SUCKED at that Wrestlemania.
Most crowd pleasing WM! All the faces won!
Kofimania was great but the opening match was too short and the main event had a botched finish and an exhausted crowd.
It was cold and the matches were weak lol…Kofi winning is a moment I’m glad I saw live because everyone was so happy but other than that I was miserable lol
WM 31 is really underrated, and one of the best
That show had no reason to be good due to lackluster buildup, and the card didn't look too fun. Completely left field with how good the show turned out to be.
Nah that’s the most overrated WrestleMania of all time. Remove the heist of the century and the RKO outta nowhere spot and u have a meh WrestleMania.
@@StraightEdgeKnight19 it was good
Intercontinental Ladder match, John Cena vs rusev, Bray Wyatt vs Undertaker was okay (Undertaker returned after concussion) and triple h vs sting with NWO and DX returning, just because some people didn't like the outcome doesn't mean the card sucks, it's always good with surprise element to such shows, otherwise what's the point of watching such shows.
It was way better than it had any right to be because the build up was bad.
I think 30-33 are great mania’s
Love this interview. basically the 2 best interviewers in wrestling media nerding out together. Could listen to hours of it lol
Wrestlemania 39 Night 1 I would put up there as one of the best ever. Rey vs Dom, Charlotte vs Rhea, Seth vs Logan, and the tag team main event
Don't forget the Tag Team Showcase was phenomenal too. Guys just busting their asses doing crazy stuff. That's what really set the night off to be great
And then Night 2 was mostly ass...
@@L_HDDisagree. The womens showcase was terrible and that was it.
Brock v Omos was fine was just
Bianca v Auska was good (wrong winner)
Finn v Edge was great
IC Title Triple Threat fantastic
Roman v Cody fantastic (even with Cody losing)
1 bad match out of 6 matches. I don’t see how that’s terrible. Maybe you see something I don’t.
@@nyameleyefekaska2895Three of those matches (Belair v Asuka, Edge v Bálor, and Reigns v Rhodes) had the wrong winner. If only one or even two had the wrong winner I think it would be less egregious, but the fact that all three of them ended with the wrong person standing tall really deflated the crowd come the end of the show
@@reddeath5791 Edge vs Finn was the wrong winner I do give you that, but that doesn’t take away from the match at all neither does Bianca v Auska.
Reigns v Rhodes was literally PERFECT. All of that has lead up to where we are now. This is literally the endgame. Cody is even MORE over than he was before. Roman is looking more desperate even with the highest form of help with him in the Rock. Everything is falling apart and this is all what Cody predicted.
Wrestlemania 27's biggest flaw was that it set up Backlash instead of concluding story lines.
Sounds like 40 could have the same problem as 27: The Rock
@gnikulodeon1999 Regardless of what the next event was called.
@@jrod2510 - I full expect these 2 WM40 main events to be like the HHH v Sting match........ Massive amount of shenanigans and storyline elements rather than being epic wrestling matches..... Purists will not be happy.
The tag match especially will 100% have to be low work-rate and lots of smoke and mirror cos if either Roman or Cody (or Seth to a lesser extent) get injured the whole weekend goes to shit.
Wrestlemania 22 was my favorite all time ….not mentioning it was my first ppv I ever orders but it was also the only wrestlemania I got to enjoy with my grandpa b4 his passing
Wm22 was great! The Shawn vs. McMahon, edge vs. Mic, Cena vs. HHH, with CM Punk being a goon! Even the Boogie Man match was good!

Mania 21 is my favorite & the most underrated. Legend killer Orton almost ending the streak. The first MITB match. Cena beginning his run as the face of the company. An absolute clinic with Angle vs HBK. It was also my first mania I saw as a kid. Nothing tops it nostalgia wise
It really was a match full of 5 star matches i can name 4 on that mania
Thank you!
@@mikewootson2085 Absolutely agreed, the match quality was stellar & the storylines going into each match were some of WWE’s best especially for the ruthless aggression era. Even the buildup to Wrestlemania 21 was iconic, those were when we got the Hollywood parody commercials lol
@@proskeptical789I think WM 21 would be remembered more fondly as being one of the best wrestlemania's if the 2 main event title matches weren't such duds. Everything else was pretty great.
Sam was right about Wrestlemania 27 being probably the worst
I'll agree 27 was the worst. Peak PG era trash. 17 is my favorite for obvious reasons, I was an attitude era kid. Yeah, Stone Cold turning heel marked the end of the era but I feel that it was like a curtain call. Attitude era was fun and amazing, now let's see how WCW guys will do in WWF with a heel Austin.
Attitude Era ended in 2002. After WM17 there was still a lot of Attitude Era meat on the bone afterwards.
True because Cole vs Lawler was awful and the main Event wasn’t as good because well Dwayne was the host and then got involved
@@StraightEdgeKnight19that is when it ended to me, 2002. It felt like the very last good year they had.
Attitude era was awful . So much trash cringe content. PG era had a lot of that as well but I think nostalgia blinds people into just how much trash the attitude era was spewing out
WM 9 was was freaking trash, Punk/Orton, HHH/Taker, Rey/Cody was 10 times better than whatever 9 was
WM 20 is my all-time favorite. So many great moments in that one. Taker's return, Benoit winning the WHC, Eddie retaining. The hug at the end..
Oh yeah the main event between hbk and triple h for the World heavyweight title were none of them won at the end
It was solid, but half of it was filler
@@jackhughes7637 The thing of it is, those filler matches were great lol Rhodes and Show and Orton and Kane had 2 awesome matches that night.
@@D_2387 Orton/Kane was skippable. Ngl though I do have a special place for WM28, very good show.
Dude how could you leave out HHH vs Undertaker HIAC? Best false finish of all time.
@@jackm4124 you're completely right, my mistake sir hahaha
-First ever MITB match (phenomenal match ofc)
-Eddie vs Misterio (Eddie’s last mania match and was fantastic)
-Angle vs Michaels
-Taker vs Orton
-Batista vs Hunter in what would be the end to the reign of terror
-Cena’s first tittle victory
I always feel like I enter a different reality in not liking Wrestlemania 38. Night 1 of 39 is top 3 for me and FULLY agree about Otis and Mandy... Still upsetting that didn't happen in front of a live crowd.
I liked 38, but I definitely feel it’s overrated. Both matches involving the Royal Rumble winners were disappointing, Night 2 was just average and there’s not excuse for leaving both the Intercontinental and United States Champions off the show when you have a 2 night show that runs almost 8 hours in total.
I dont know why people not like 38 its a great cool vibe show like i dont i feel a very positive and happy to watch that
On the empty arenas: Gunther and Draganov had that classic on NXT UK where the lack of noise ENHANCED the match, surely by design.
24 is the most underrated mania ever, so many good matches
I was looking for this comment
Yes!!
Best: X7, XIX, XXIV, XXX, and recently XL
Worst: XXVII and then honestly XXVIII (I have no idea how anyone defends this Mania as one of the best ever, so so incredibly overrated)
Wrestlemania 11 is the worst mania and it blows my mind that it's not higher on peoples lists
4 is also an under hated one, it would be in my top 10 worst Manias
11 and 2 are both terrible
Wrestlemania 9 is on my list at the worst
@@joshuamelton91489
Isn’t that bad
@@joshuamelton9148 close second on mine. The thing that saves it from the worst is the total presentation, the opener and the Steiner/Headshrinker match
WrestleMania 2 is objectively the worst one. It's at least 3 times worse than the 2nd worst one because they stunk up 3 venues across 3 time zones.
I'm biased toward attitude era ones cuz thats the only time I watched wwe, I havent watched any since like 2012 so I cant speak on them, but I was at 18 so I obv think highly of that, but I think 17 and 20 are great too
I was at 18 too and it seemed lacklustre even at the time for me, outside of hogan rock
I love the Austin heel turn at 17. It lead to Funny Man Austin which to me was so damn funny. His work with Vince and Angle had me in stitches
WWE will Never admit it. But Wrestlemania 20...
That moment between Eddie and Benoit.. fans will never ever forget it
Sure, but otherwise most of that card was rubbish
A classic example would be the Royal Rumbles 2000-07 aren't uploaded to YT because he's in it
It's not fair on Batista, Undertaker, Rey Myserio etc.
An episode of Insight inside the NotSam Studio? The world wasn’t ready for this level of brilliance.
Wrestlemania 18 in Toronto, iconic.
The crowd made it better
Main Event was horrible
Oh yeah. 34's main event was not even a good match. Just Roman getting pummeled. 1 hope spot, and them back to pummeling.
XIX is way better then X-Seven.

Taker vs AJ boneyard
Firefly funhouse
Walter vs Dragunov
Orton vs Edge (G.W.M.o.A.T)
etc
there are quite a few. No one is going back watching a lot of matches for before 36 as well. The product was literally DOG SHIT (Dog Food Match, remember). People were complaining left and right that matches were boring, storylines were boring. WWE was boring. people were walking out main events.
17-19 top notch. I didn't complain and I haven't about it since. It felt like mania man. I remember having jitters during the opening.
Nah no wrestlemania in my lifetime has ended and felt so emotional quite like mania 20. That one was incredible

38 is brought down by one of the worst main event matches of all time....
@TheWrightMovies Yeah, that main event was the epitome of underwhelming. If they had that last man standing match from SummerSlam on that Wrestlemania, we would obviously look at that main event differently

However, it did have the return of Daniel Bryan and it had the rousey match so it wasn’t a total dud
27 was awful though
For me, worst wrestlemania are all those which feature Roman in the main event.

People may not want to admit but Wrestlemania 20 has the best Wrestlemania match ever
They are always gonna say whatever is current is the best. Most in the media won’t admit wrestling used to be better than it is now. They will always promote what’s current as being the “best”
Wrestlemania 31 was like a party where all your favourite people show up and then at 3am in the morning someone shouts you cocaine and all night a hot girl gives you attention but then she gets too drunk so you get with her hotter friend
WM38 was the first and only (so far) I’ve been able to attend in person and it was incredible. Nice to hear ppl praise it.
38 wasn't all that good...Brock vs Roman for the millionth time, and other average matches...only Cody's return was the good thing...props for Stone Cold to take a bump on the concrete that no one expected
Kofi vs Jimmy vs John Morrison, KO vs Seth and Charlotte vs Rhea were bangers from that Mania that I would re watch. Plus love the Boneyard and Firefly Funhouse matches. Oh I forgot and the culmination of the Otis/Mandy storyline. Plus Drew winning the title. To me it's a great Mania. Obviously no fans bothered me but it wasn't the worst Mania like 27 makes sense to be the worst.
WrestleMania 19 Was One Of The Greatest Ever.
I was there live and I 1000% agree. It was even more disappointing because it was my first WM in person. Thankfully my second live which was WM 31 made up for it.
Shawn Michaels and Kurt Angle, Randy Orton vs Undertaker, the first ever Money in the Bank match.
It's 17 without any question. It was the peak of the company with arguably the two biggest guys in the history of the company headlining with the most stacked card you could think of. Had 3 5 star matches and 2 or 3 great matches
You guys need to get an official podcast together.
My childhood favourite would be WM21. Rey/eddie, MITB, Shawn/Angle and as a kid watching Cena and Batista beat the bad guys was amazing.
My favourite has to be 25 because I was there live, so seeing Shawn and Taker live was incredible.
Two of the best wrestling commentators right there

I loved Wrestlemania 27. Dam acknowledged HHH v Taker being great. I think that was a major contributing factor to it being great. Many other great matches. I loved the video package leading into Miz’s entrance for the Main Event.
Until now. Regardless of how it goes, Mania 40 will most likely become my new favorite as it will be the first WrestleMania I will be attending in person, and it is now my most hyped Mania ever just because of that.
