Hello! If you go onto the official website (it's in the description), go to where the shop page is (the news feed), and scroll down a tiny bit to find the Cube World Demo. This is literally just a short download for free where you can test if your computer can run the game, I would definitely try the demo if you're not sure if your computer can handle it, if it lags when you run the demo, you might not have a computer strong enough, this game is harder to run than that of Minecraft I'm afraid
I already bought it because your videos convinced me to do so. I've had a bit of trouble to get started, but your tips are really useful, so thank you Hollow, I don't think I'll be regretting my buy!
You should buy it only if you think you can enjoy it as it is without waiting for updates. Right now it is already a wonderful dungeon crawler style game. Wollay wants to make it a full fledge RPG with an awesome quest system he is working on but he works very slowly so even if he showed previews a couple months ago (looks pretty cool) i would not expect it to be released anytime soon...
You did a really great job with this review. You didn't make the usual mistake of simply summarising the game as opposed to reviewing it. Looking forward to seeing more of these!
But...I did explain why it's fun...I talked about all the features of the game that make it enjoyable, never did I once say ''Because it's fun'' or imply something like that. :x
I just managed to get a copy, and man it is so good! The battles are really something to get used to, with the dodge-rolling just in time. Reminds me of Monster Hunter SO much. Loving it so far! And ofcourse; moar Cube World vids!
It's only a tech demo, Wollay put on this demo to see if this game can run on your PC, If you see a screen popping up, that means you can play the game without problems. But if an error pops out, you're out of luck, that means the game might not work
No problem .:) The store is kinda messes up so the only way Wollay and Pixxie could tell people to buy the game was by going to the link. I'm sure the store will be running normally soon and the link will be much easier to get to for everyone else.
They're not being DDosed, it's a marketing techniques making people itching trying to play this game because they fell it was taking away from them and they deserve to play it witch is a really good marking technique if you ask me as it's drives up INSANE hype for this game so when it's finally up for sale they're going to make 2 - 3 x more cash from it.
Hello! I'm afraid you've made all of that up :) Minecraft's Launch crashed the site for around 3 months after the game was released in Open Alpha, It would go up and down, constantly, They never took the shop down, however, the site was not usable during these down times, let alone just access to the shop. This went on for much-o long time-o because of how popular is was! This happens with every big game! I'm not sure why you decided to make that up, but I thought I'd clear this up!
I've only been playing the single player because my friends haven't been able to access the store. its tons of fun if you like exploration, but other than that it's pretty shallow. kill monsters, level up, kill more monsters, rinse, repeat. right now, dungeons are pretty much impossible to go through solo, and its really hard to find gear for your class as monsters drop stuff randomly. some classes are broken from what I've heard, and travel from one town to the next takes on average 20 mins.
Awesome game, and I agree with the verdict (trying to talk some friends into buying it for multiplayer, after having invested hours exploring an ocean region.... which is basically turning into Wind Waker with optional underwater combat)
Throwing it under the bus? I love Minecraft. It's a game that changed the industry completely, and made so many careers! I said I was exaggerating, before even saying the line ''Compared to first release of Minecraft alpha, Minecraft had little to do, compared to how much there is to do in Cube World''. You clearly didn't listen to how I explained it. Be a little bit more open minded.
I think i will pick this up when it comes out. I mostly do not buy a game from hearing someone saying it is good. I don't simply trust reviewers, i like to see some gameplay and hear about the mecanics and make a picture of my own. However i think this series is a good idea, not everyone have time to take an indept look at games, so this will help having someone they trust recomending/tellling to avoid a game they are wondering about it is worth getting
You're kidding? All the adorable animals, that are like, crazy strong and raccoons that fight like ninjas, and so on, we've had a lot of laughs from this game
I kinda agree with Roy B, but you shouldn't be able to build everywhere, i think you should be able to buy a plot of land and build on that (in the cities) :D
You shouldn't worry too much. The system requirements for cube world aren't that high. you'll only need a little more that 1gb of Ram, 256mb of graphical memory and a 2ghz processor, so unless your computer is about 4 or 5 years old, it should run fairly smoothly. You'll also need the shaders model v3 but you probably do as standard. Also, the price is given as 15 euros. That's about £13 or $20, so it's really not that expensive. Hope this helps.
I encountered that problem. On the main website it isn't really clear on how to actually buy the game. If you Google "buy cube world" and one of the first results will be a link to the picroma website. On this page it will tell you to log in before buying the game. Just create an account and you should be able to use the demo to see if the game runs properly and such and you can purchase the game from there. I hope this helps a little.
Make like a (Rage) Perspective with Rage and Fluke and Evanz maybe, and play quests on multiplayer together, it will be much fun watching you guys play it together
A nice video very concise sadly my internet isn't great for multiplayer games so i'm really hoping the single player experience improves with the addition of quests
It's a great game but we wonder if it's still being made. There hasn't been an update to it since July of last year, and the last time the creator mentioned anything about it was in Jun.
Damn, that's kind of depressing. I'm more of a single-player gamer myself, and don't have any friends who really play much games on their PC. I'm I really going to be dissapointed with the game by myself Hollow? Anyway man, great vid, cool idea for a series, love your content :D
Good review, however I have a question on your comment about the game not being as fun in the long run without playing with friends. I was/am an avid Minecraft and Terraria player, but mostly played alone which is good for my play style. When/if you played those games, did you play with friends or alone?
the 'demo' is literately just a load screen to see if your computer can render the game there is no free gameplay demo but for 15 euros u really cant go wrong :D
you can use a virtual machine. this basically emulates windows without setting it as your system. try looking for Oracle VM ViritualBox, i was able to get Linix, Windows 8, XP and mac on my pc
when guys get on picroma website click on the picroma icon and scroll down and you will see a website that can take to download the cube world demo and buy the full version game
I bought this game, it's very fun. However when buying it keep two things in mind. First: This is Alpha, the character you are playing means nothing because when the final version comes out you will have to restart. Second: Multiplayer is flawed and every sever has major lag, so its impossible to kill bosses and higher level monsters. It is a fun game for it price, has more content in it than most games do at Alpha or even release.
I think if you're giving advice on whether or not people should buy the game, you may want to be a bit more critical about it or go more in depth about what features are actually implemented in the game. Just saying it has "hundreds of things to do" and comparing it to minecraft's alpha doesn't do much for a person on the fence. That said, I've already invested a crazy amount of time in Cube World and I look forward to seeing more added to the game.
that's the problem, finding friends to play whit. On your own, you might fee quite lonely, and some bosses are just so strong that you will be thinking - This game is for co-op. On the other hand it is alpha and future updates might bring something more.. (despite the increased price maybe 20 or more $?) Well if you think you want to give it a shot, go for it. and if you need a companion feel free to message me.
yes it lags a lot , i can run minecraft max settings at 120 fps , on cube world i had to set render distance to 25% and antialising off to get half that with rare lag spikes
This game is not available on their store on their homepage as of right now. Hasn't been there since early this year. Sorry if anyone was hyped about getting it.
Hollow, is there a built in story for the game or do you kind of create it yourself like you would on minecraft? And are there big public servers like there are on minecraft?
What is the Deadmau5 Strobe remix called? Also, great review I may just buy the game is is does get updated fairly regularly from what I have heard. Thanks :)
@nacs I really don't know where do you live... the newest cube world blog post is yesterday... 19/11/2013, and the creator is working on scalable UI...
Well Minecraft has borders like real borders that you can pass unlike Cube World with its endless world i have got to say it has put all of the good games together to make one (you see one there) of the best games
He (PlatinumAsssasin) is not talking about the link to the website. He's talking about the website itself, how it's confusing. I have to admit, it is kind of confusing, if you don't bother to read the whole thing.
I agree with what you're trying to say, but Minecraft has no borders, unless you play on Xbox exclusively. (Which you shouldn't, as Minecrft was originally meant for PC, and Rage: "PC MASTER RACE") It endlessly generates as Cubeworld does. Just thought I'll point that
Played the game, the game is AMAZING,but sadly I can't play with my friends because none of us can make a server that works without lag...that it WORKS, but still. The game is AMAZING even when I play on single player.
So when new things like quest are implemented into the game, if you have already bought the alpha, will you have to buy it again? Or will you get an update
The game is so popular the website cannot handle it, so telling the people on the fence about the game, and my opinion of it, is related to that, how? Pointless, how? :x
Try browsing to the forum and such. All "under maintenance". Also, re your "only alpha features are coming" -- hate to break it to you but the developer hasn't been heard of for months and there are no mentions of updates. Not updates have been released in many months and no blog posts/Twitter/Facebook posts from developer either. He's basically taken all the money and disappeared off the internet after releasing the alpha.
yea but you might have to do this: "To make sure your computer can run Cube World smoothly, right-click the Demo/Game and hover over "Run with graphics processor" if it is there to make sure you run it off a dedicated GPU if you have one."
it will be out for mac, so buying it should be ok. its only a alpha and you only have to pay once, then the updates are free. But waiting for the mac release is smarter then buying the alpha thats currently pc only, cause if mac has a separate sale i am fucked
I love how people are throwing minecraft under the bus for having "like 4 things you can do" when released on alpha. Minecraft was revolutionary. This game rides on its coat tails and adds borderlands. Also this game is really nothing like zelda expect for they are both rpgs.
Please, I am curious, when does it end, because look at someone lie kurtjmac who has been for walking in one direction for something ridiculous to get the far lands, and he as not gotten there. Are you saying the far lands are the edge, because they re just distorted things, not the border.
Hollow, I think this is a series you should keep uploading. Although try to explain a little bit of the mechanics behind it, not just "It is fun, because it is." if you are doing a review you need to at least explain them a bit.

+Funke Motor yup

I just managed to get a copy, and man it is so good! The battles are really something to get used to, with the dodge-rolling just in time. Reminds me of Monster Hunter SO much. Loving it so far!
And ofcourse; moar Cube World vids!

Thanks man! Great video! Really needed somebody to be completely honest so I could get a final opinion! You earned my subscription.
Great idea for a series! Can't wait to see the next episode!!
Thanks for the link! I can't wait for the shop to come back up!

You will be able to use blueprints to create structures yes. Check the picroma site or wiki.
I like the idea behind the series. Could be a good one to continue.
Good job Aaron this was awesome! I really enjoy your videos, you are my favorit youtuber.
I think i will pick this up when it comes out. I mostly do not buy a game from hearing someone saying it is good. You can, It's in picroma, you press the picroma thing in the top left corner
I've shared this video with my friends, hoping to convince them to get it. It's an awesome game for sure!
Dude you are so right about the game, personally I think its amazing
:)
Awesome man , really enjoyed this!! In the future i would like if u added the current price of the game!
Make like a (Rage) Perspective with Rage and Fluke and Evanz maybe, and play quests on multiplayer together, it will be much fun watching you guys play it together

It's fantastic alone, I don't have much experience at the moment with multiplayer and have just been enjoying the game on my own.

Great series idea, I really like.
You can find it by clicking their logo and scrolling down a little bit. You'll see the link to the shop.

They are soon adding home building, but it would be like building in Ace of Spades. :P
It is open world, you create your own way and do what you want
Please make a video on how to make a cube world server! I really trust you!
dont worry it doesnt lag like minecraft so it should work. try the demo if the demo works it should work.
It's only in alpha ^^ lot cool features are coming, like advanced skilltrees.
that's the problem, finding friends to play whit. On your own, you might fee quite lonely, and some bosses are just so strong that you will be thinking - This game is for co-op. I tried to make an account on picroma and it never sent the confirmation to my email address so I never got to the game.
This game is not available on their store on their homepage as of right now. Hasn't been there since early this year. Sorry if anyone was hyped about getting it.
does anyone know why this is?
JAD They have closed the Shop because their communitism is limited since they are working on the update.
ok
thx
You can play alone, but it may get pretty boring. Just ask some friends and try and get them into it.
keep doing this..please.
cube world and this series
Freakin done buttons next to the backspace

Great idea of video now I realy want to buy this game
@Hussam Motwea sadly no. But they are hoping to make a mac version
Please all note, due to Ddossers, The site is often down for maintenance, so if you cant buy it from Picroma (official site) Its due to maintanance.
looks great, but one thing is missing a place on the website so we can buy it.
mmmm, i think im here a bit late here. im gonna get it def
enjoying it?
Kivelocity nah, the armour system is wacky
@@spencerhorton1937 well dang thats ok
still the best intro song on Youtue.
They need to put it on steam and the sales will skyrocket. 90% of the dutch people use iDeal, almost only compatible with steam.
@nacs
I really don't know where do you live... the newest cube world blog post is yesterday... 19/11/2013, and the creator is working on scalable UI...
thanks dude im going to buy it, it seems awesome.
you forgot 5: wait a week for the shop to come back online
Well I guess that makes me feel a bit better
but is there really other classes that would make sense in cube world
Yes
It will be 5-10 dollars (Dont know in Euros) cheaper then when in beta or made. :D
Well Minecraft has borders like real borders that you can pass unlike Cube World with its endless world i have got to say it has put all of the good games together to make one (you see one there) of the best games
The creating account on the website is down for maintenance for some reason
If they add building mechanics i'd buy it. Just heard that they don't have that.
simple question why can you not buy it?
how do you buy it? theres no option on the website
He (PlatinumAsssasin) is not talking about the link to the website. He's talking about the website itself, how it's confusing. I have to admit, it is kind of confusing, if you don't bother to read the whole thing.
How much does it cost? In U.S dollars. Also, Hollow, I didn't know you liked Zelda! Which is your favorite?
I agree with what you're trying to say, but Minecraft has no borders, unless you play on Xbox exclusively. (Which you shouldn't, as Minecrft was originally meant for PC, and Rage: "PC MASTER RACE") It endlessly generates as Cubeworld does. Just thought I'll point that

Played the game, the game is AMAZING,but sadly I can't play with my friends because none of us can make a server that works without lag...that it WORKS, but still. The game is AMAZING even when I play on single player.
Not being able to get it here in Europe either.. been checking all day long.. no luck...
I have to say I completely didn't expect you to suggest that we buy this game. I mean you've only uploaded half a dozen videos on it.
So when new things like quest are implemented into the game, if you have already bought the alpha, will you have to buy it again? Or will you get an update
The game is so popular the website cannot handle it, so telling the people on the fence about the game, and my opinion of it, is related to that, how? Pointless, how? :x
