Cass Scenic Railroad - Whistling Through Spring

- On May 19th I made the usual visit to the regular excursions operate as well as ride the Bald Knob train. I had a great time seeing the Greenbrier Express run as well as riding the Bald Knob train. I once again road in the cab of Shay 11 and got the opportunity to blow the Modified C&O 6 Chime at the Spruce crossing on the way down the mountain. Shay 4 was wearing a Lunkenheimer 3 Chime and this time was pulling a caboose which has replaced the generator car until June. Overall I had an amazing time at Cass and can not wait to make plenty of more visits throughout the year. As always thanks for watching!!

@@cassscenicproductions8888 That's really good news we went to East Broad top 2 weeks ago for a first and ready to go back when 16 is under fire again
that echo is hauntingly beautiful, im a locomotive engineer myself
For a second, I wondered if it was Cass legend Danny Seldomridge running Shay 11 (since he often blasted whistles similarly to the grade crossing in this video). To my knowledge though, he hasn't been working there for several years, so it must be one of the younger guys he trained or something.
Good morning seth
Good morning!
Is Cass still doing the Whittaker train regularly? Or is the Greenbrier Express replacing it many days now?
They do Whittaker trains on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. This was near the beginning of the season and they decided for the first couple weekends to not operate the Whittaker trains.
Is Chris not running the 4?
Chris left in April
Well that sucks. Is Matthew taking his spot?
