Shoulder Pain Relief Stretches - 5 Minute Real Time Routine

  • These shoulder pain relief stretches are great for helping to relieve general shoulder pain and shoulder tightness. The shoulder stretches are done in real time, so they are easy to follow. Buy a worksheet with these shoulder stretches: www.askdoctorjo.com/7-shoulde...
    In general when stretching the shoulders, you should hold most stretches for 30 seconds, and do them 3 times. Sometimes you might not have enough time to go through your whole routine, which can be time consuming. If you are in a hurry, still hold the shoulder stretches for 30 seconds, but do less reps.
    A quick warm up will help warm up and loosen the shoulder muscles to help get them going.
    A great way to stretch the shoulder is by stretching out the joint capsule. You can stretch the posterior capsule or a cross arm stretch, and you can stretch the inferior capsule with a triceps stretch.
    Also, stretching some of your rotator cuff muscles, like the subscapularis may help relieve the shoulder pain. If going into external rotation of your shoulder is painful, you can modify this stretch.
    Finally, a chest or pec stretch and an upper trap stretch will help the shoulder and neck areas.

      Probably they don’t have any muscle tension in the areas that they thought they needed to stretch. For me, for example, the last exercise was the best, but with the rest of the exercises I didn’t even feel that I was stretching , cause I just don’t have muscles to stretch.😄

    I hurt my shoulders by staying in my bed and playing mobile games for 7 hrs,I hope this exercise is gonna help

    I'm at work with bad shoulder pain, so I don't have the ability to do anything more than 5 minutes. This helped a lot! Still a bit painful of course, but now I can turn my head without feeling like I'm gonna cry haha

    After having a heavy benchpress session my shoulders were feeling really tight and uncomfortable. I was about to sleep but my shoulders were bothering me like crazy. When I watched this video not only did is relived my shoulder, I feel way better on my upper back and chest. This is the best video I’ve seen so far and I’m happy that you posted this because now I can go to sleep without any pain!

    Every once in a long time I get a tightness and pain in my shoulder. I know If I don't do anything I'll tweak it. And that one funky looking stretch at 5:20 relaxes it. I appreciate this video. I can never remember it and always have to hit youtube.

    Subscribed!! On day 4 on extreme shoulder pain! Doctor said “keep moving it” but seems when I workout the next day I’m in pain for days hoping doing this and some other videos I’ve come across will help me get back into my fitness routine! This short video definitely helped, still can’t lift my arm over my head without it hurting 😭 but hopeful now :)

    I was having severe pain in my shoulder I did this excercise twice in a day and results were amazing. Thanks a lot for sharing this exercises.

    I hurt my shoulder and was had intense pain and was waking at night with pain going down my arm. Decided to look for advice on TH-cam and found this channel. I did the routine and it has helped me tremendously. I can feel the difference and will do it daily. Thank you so much.

    Been working 7 days a week for some months and experiencing constant pain on my shoulders. Did these stretches just now and the pain went away :)

      Keep it up. I have a torn rotator cuff. Did this for over a week. Pain went away. Stopped. It came back. Am now back to stay 😅

    So I recently did all upper body workouts at the gym and when i got done man I had so much pain in both my shoulders I couldn’t even move my arm up as much... then I came across this video. This was SOOOOOO much what I needed I appreciate this so much

    Thank God i found your video. I had shoulder pain for 5 days, couldn't sleep, eat, and felt like I was going to die from it honestly because when I would breathe it would be painful. I took every painkiller, used every ice pack and my GP was useless. Did these stretches yesterday before bed when I was feeling the most excruciating pain- and immediately felt relief. Woke up with a little pain but it no longer required painkillers. After doing the stretches again today I am completely pain-free.
