I had the same problem with my Samsung washer. This video was more helpful than the others I'd seen because this is a similar washer as mine. It's an easy $400 or $500 job if I had called someone out. Been dealing with this for about 4 months. Finally ordered the suspension rods from Amazon for $60 for all 4 rods. Just make sure the rods you order are compatible with your washer. Folks I know nothing about fixing a washing machine. My plan was to get up tomorrow morning and start tackling this thing, but this afternoon I started messing with it and before I knew it I had it to a point where the lid was partially off, enough to reach the rods, and my neighbor came over and helped me with holding the lid. I didn't remove the wiring harnesses. Start to finish was about 30 minutes. Hint: Just remember where the screws go....take pictures. Got all the rods in and put it back together. I pushed down on the drum when I finished and it didn't bounce, just like the video said. Boys and girls If I can do it anybody can. Ran a load of clothes through it and it worked perfectly. Thank you so much.
Okay. So I googled how to do this and watched the first video, then yours second. I was shocked at the difference. The amount of extra work and time that was spent on your video. I thought I'd take a minute and let you know that you can separate the top from the bottom in about five minutes, with only 3 screws and no messing with any of that electrical or anything. You do take the same screws out but not til about half way thru your video. Hopefully I helped you, the video with the instructions is by appliance repair pros,
I also didn't need to do any electrical wiring removal. There are 2 screws under the lid and 4 screws on the back ant the whole top comes off. I just taped the lid down. The rest was the same as your video! $36 parts and I did it myself! Thanks!
Can't tell you how much I appreciate this video! I was having the exact same problem and before I knew what it was I got a quote for $500 to fix. After seeing this video, I spent $40 on the new tension rods and had this fixed in about an hour of labor time. Thanks so much!!!
Hi there. I came to realize my washer may need maintenace and did some research, came across your video. 100% appreciate it. My samsung washer was a pain in the mfkn a$$. I would have rather paid the $500 for someone to do it. Lol my laundry area us very tight small space. Hubs and i could not disconnect the wiring, we couldnt figure that out, so we could NOT take it off. We swiveled it around, made a big ol sticky mess, changed our gloves 5 times, lost 20 pounds of sweat, nearly slit my wrists trying to get in. But we did it. We both said, we would like to buy a new washer instead of deal with this. So...not sure if i want to get rid of it now or later. Your video was the best one I found, at least we did it. All these other reviews I read on amazon from the rods said this was easy! That was not the case for my model. Pain in the 🍑
This was very helpful. A couple of pictures of the wiring before undoing the clips gave me the confidence to get the washer back together. From constant dc error to a properly functioning washer feels great! Thanks!
The troubleshooting on this video helped me out a bunch. Couldn't figure out why my machine tub was banging side to side and it definitely bounces up and down so here's hoping that's the problem!
The 1st video explained it so clearly. Anybody without any knowledge can follow this step by step very easily. The second video look the way the the guy is removing the top viz the 1st video. The 1st video shows the correct way pulling it forward, wickle a bit and both clips comes detached very easy. Sorry my honest opinion 2nd video jumping around to much. My machine is now working perfectly followed the 1st video. Tony
jack frost I hear what you’re saying. I started out doing it that way and it’s more of a pain for me. Much easier to do if you pop the top off and nothing is in your way. Whirlpool’s are different. You just hinge those bad boys up and there’s nothing to it. Samsung doesn’t make it easy like whirlpool does.
To add to what bearded said, a lot of times the top will fall and the only thing keeping it attached is the wiring …… now you might have broken a wire …. Better just to completely seperate in that case!
Help!! My husband and I replaced the bearings on our front load Samsung washer and when we came to the last shock the bolt will not go in… what is the problem? Can you give me some helpful tips?
I want to say they are upgraded but I am not 100% sure. As for the recall being the cause it’s possible that it can be I’m just not sure that it is. 99% of the time it’s overloading that causes them to go bad. I overload my washing machine too much and I have to replace my suspension rods every couple of years. No biggy to me though. I hate doing laundry and try to get it done with the least mount of load as possible. Good question though, thanks for the comment!
@petradichavich yeah my first ever TH-cam video. I have a better camera set up now and the next time I run into one of these I will have a chance to improve the quality. As for your question, I am assuming you mean the suspension rods. They connect to the tub in a similar way that it connects to the frame. The rod just slides in from the side pull the rod up and lay it in port on the frame. Hope this answers your question. Let me know if you need any further help.
No No No!!! Don’t undo all the electrical! Please save yourself all the additional work, you need to remove three screws in back panel and pop the clips I the front to tilt the top up
Make sure your washer is draining properly. It can cause a similar code. Test the suspension rods again and see if they need to be changed for a second time. A lot of resellers warranty the parts they sell if you find them to have gone out again. Overloading the washer is the number 1 cause of suspension rod failure. Make sure your not overloading to prevent future issues. Good luck!
Or...skip this shit and wedge a length of duct-tape wrapped pool noodle across the top of the blue drum under the lip from the top. Just push down on blue drum and wedge each end in each side across the opening. Stops the drum from waggling and knocking about, the inner drum can spin, and costs about 3 bucks.
You feel for a bad damper. Can’t really look at it to tell if it’s bad or not. You get overload errors though. To test them you pretty much press down on the basket and see if it continues to bounce afterwards. If it comes back up and stays than they are good.
Do you know what you are doing? I don't think so there is no need to strip the machine all you have to do is unscrew the 2 screw on the back and the wire cove and open the top of the machine (hob) from the front with a putty knife
Davey Jones you decide to bleed your brakes (by your self) with the wheels on. I decide to do it with the wheels off. You can do it however you want. It still gets the job done. I prefer not to have things in my way.

Im about to embark on this job soon as i order my parts. I see how a "Maytag" man makes his money! Lol thankyou and to the guy that made this video.

Which 3 my man?
Thanks man
Yeah because you didn’t need to do all of that

Thank you! The repair guy wanted $700 to replace the drum. $40 and 30 minutes of work saved me a lot of money.

Thank for the video bro, i have learnt how to test for bad suspension rods.
Dion Toussaint Thanks man for giving me a positive comment on this video! I’m glad I can help you out. That’s what these videos are for.
The tub on ours dropped immediately(at the start or the spin cycle)after installing the new rods, what else could cause the failure?
You don’t have to remove the tires to change a battery. The top can be popped up with out removal to change the rods.

Awesome video finished and less than 15 minutes
Thank you for saving me a lot of money

Is there a rod brand that you recommend besides own rods?
Are these the cause of all the violent machine failures from the recall? Are the replacement parts upgraded over the original ones?
I want to say they are upgraded but I am not 100% sure.

thats some great camera work there. how do they fit in at the bottom?

Do you have to calibrate this one?
Thank you sir I really appreciate this video 📹
How much force did you use to get the front panel off? Yours seem like at just folded forward. I feel like I'm going to break mine
Awesome video. Helped me so much. Thank you!
Thanks for the video man !
Hey sorry for the delay. I Got them from fox appliance parts. They are out of the Southwest. Foxatlanta.com
No No No!!! Don’t undo all the electrical! Please save yourself all the additional work, you need to remove three screws in back panel and pop the clips I the front to tilt the top up
I changed mine with new dampers but started getting the codes in about two weeks again

That‘s really help!
None of the videos I find have the same top removal process as the wa50t5300ac model. The differences are aggravating
Where did you buy the suspension rods?

Why did uou greese the new rods
What is the actual model number on this one?
what does a bad damper look like
You feel for a bad damper. Can’t really look at it to tell if it’s bad or not. You get overload errors though.
To test them you pretty much press down on the basket and see if it continues to bounce afterwards. If it comes back up and stays than they are good.
even with new rods mine still jumps like a rodeo buffalo lol
You can do this by turning upside down instead of taking it apart
My brand new Samsung washer sucks.

He has to disassemble the harness to remove the top completely to work more comfortable and safer.
There is more than 1 way to skin a cat, snowflake.
However, there is only 1 way to utilize punctuation... Look in to that.
Throw the Samsung aka samshit away and buy speed queen
Or appliancev8deo
The quality of your video isn’t helpful
The quality is fine.
