    We purchased our used package from Kim and absolutely had no regrets and then when their new adventure package came out with the early purchase deal we contacted her again and she was fabulous she went over everything with us to make sure it would be something that would work for us and then contacted a rep for us and we got it . We stay exclusively at TT/ encore parks in a year we have spent $ 118.00 out of pocket to stay somewhere and then used Passport america for it . These 2 senior clampers are loving life with no regrets .We hope to see you out there , Stay well and travel safe .

    If you're fulltiming on a budget,... A thousand trails membership is a must. Some parks get you to a location while others fulfill your needs. It was one of the best investments we made preparing for this lifestyle. Jason and Rae have videos breaking down the membership levels and how the system works that we are appreciative of. Also. Many people regret the quality of the campgrounds in the TT system. The question is one really of cost. I am not seeking luxury at a campgound. I purchased a zone pass for my winter season of 2019/2020 and recieved great value for my purchase. A zone pass is a 1 year zone pass in the $500 range. No membership cost. Unlimited 2 week stays with a 60 day booking window. I stayed twice in las vegas and once in palm springs. Good value. Your expectations should be realistic, and you need to purchase the appropriate pass/membership that works for how much you will use it.

    Great video guys! We have the elite with trails collection and it’s paid itself off in the past two years. For us, it was spending as many nights as possible in their parks to pay it off quickly. Now it’s just a thing of staying 10 nights a year and our dues are paid too. (We still stay 100+) another issue they have is the reservation system. We notice that they leave about 10% of the spots open for retail customers. I understand the profit of this but it makes it difficult at times. Days blocked but notice there’s plenty of open places. The only other issue is the roadways in the parks could all use repair.... we added another membership that allows us to stay at parks where there is no TT for about $15 on average that are normally $50+ night parks.

Almost $3500 was actually fuel costs. Looked into Thousand Trails.. won't fit into our style as we camp maybe a dozen times. Seem like a good thing for someone who is on the RV Road year round though. tks for the video.. subscribed..

    You really have to decide how you camp and if you’re going to get value from your purchase. What works for me is buying an annual zone pass, currently I paid $520 in 2024. I chose the southwest which gives me all the TT parks in California, Az, Nv and Colorado. I can easily add more zones as needed or not. I can opt out of buying the pass for a particular year or purchase it later in the year if I have other travel plans that would limit my use of the annual pass for that year. It’s totally worth it to me, over the cost of a full membership, which still requires a yearly maintenance cost. The booking window is only a max of 60 days out, but that has not been a problem for me and the way I travel. Happy camping!

    I bought a thousand trails years ago just after they started this timeshare. I bought it used but back then you could buy it directly from a private party which saved you thousands. From what I understand you cannot do it that way anymore. Do they still cap the amount you pay when you get to the age of 65? Also when I had camped through thousand trails they did not allow permanent residents as they do now and after looking at some you tube videos and reviews from current owners it appears that a lot of them are worse for wear.

    We’ve been back and forth trying to decide whether or no to invest in a TT membership as we near our 3/4 time RV status. Have seen yours and other’s videos on the topic. Biggest concern is that it appears many of the parks are run down or sites are extremely tight. Would love to know if any of the regrets have been for these reasons and what you’ve found.

    My parents bought their Thousand Trails Membership in 1974....we purchased ours in 2000. We are absolutely happy with our membership. There are parks that need to be upgraded/renovated, some are in beautiful condition, and others are okay. What we don’t like.....the annual site rentals and the TT Pass, they take spots away from people who have purchased their memberships for thousands of dollars just to be told a park is full!!! People who buy the annual pass are paying the equivalent of our annual dues without having to pay thousands!

    I was considering getting an elite membership which allows me to stay in the parks for up to 21 days at a time.
    But what if I wanted to stay in the same park?
    Would thousand trails allow me to just pay a nightly fee and stay at the same Park for months, instead of packing up every 21 days to go somewhere else???

    Thanks for your balanced and informative video. We're new to RVing and will be taking week-long seasonal trips rather than full time living. The RV dealership briefly explained the "free" Thousand Trails membership during the paperwork session. All sounded like a nice perk until the endless voice messages, emails and hard sell that followed providing our contact info. Reminded me of those annoying timeshare sales pitches at the resorts and theme parks. We haven't been camping yet since delivery on our 5th wheel RV is in April. The marketing folks at Thousand Trails need to realize that this is a BIG turn-off.

    This is our second year with TT and we have saved us money. Normal campground costs in our area is $70-$90/ night, last years TT per night costs were $45/night. Pre owned memberships are the way to go

      @james-rd4dq happy for you that you are soooooo into boondocking, to each their own. For a lot of people TT has been a positive, but i will only speak for myself. I like the option of scheduling and knowing I have a spot. The TT" s I've been to are in better shape than some private campgrounds, and the more you camp, the less your membership cost. There's a number of reasons for the resale. Original owner of the membership passes away and the family would rather sell the membership. and you have people that bought it and full timed for an amount of time, now want don't need it. I'm certainly not an expert in this, but TT has worked for me.

      @GetawayCouple  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is an older video we did about our decision to join and what it is: th-cam.com/video/5zQxKYDD2OQ/w-d-xo.html
      We also have several articles that Jason has written on our website: getawaycouple.com Just search Thousand Trails on our site and they will all come up 😊 Thousand Trails is a campground membership organization that operates in a similar fashion to a resort timeshare. You pay an upfront cost and then are able to use the facilities for given amounts of time throughout the year.

    1000 Trails on the West or East Coasts & their add-ons get into more expensive budgets. The parks are very particular with your Furbabies. Lots of reservations restrictions as well (know your length). If you can't understand all the rules, the millions of rules, you won't enjoy. BTW, we've been to Encore Parks the ones not on either coasts with our RV PARK Membership (Not 1000 Trails). If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything.

  • @ParryPickleballking-es2el

    I spoke to someone from Thousand Trails today and I think you are making it seem more difficult than it actually is. If the resale person you keep pumping can explain it, so can the sales person from Thousand Trails. He did a screen share and it was explained very well.

    • @ParryPickleballking-es2el
      @ParryPickleballking-es2el 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @james-rd4dq that is exactly why we didn't join. When I asked if they cap the membership, he said no. So I said, it's possible that you wouldn't be able to get a spot. Case in point would be your friends.
      It's an great deal if you can get into places. But if you're not going to limit memberships then it will get to the point where you it's a waste of money.

    The other thing people should know is if you buy a used membership, you're it! There is no reselling it. So you just helped the people you bought it from recoup up to 75% of their membership fees!!
    Plus a new membership gets 10 years of 1 week free cabin usage. $3,000 in RPI credit. I think buying new is the way to go myself.

    I'm planning to join and I'm considering a more expensive option but I'm struggling to find the value in the more expensive options??
    Can someone help me see the value?
    From my understanding you have the annual fee either way, So the cheapest option seems way better to me?
    Because with the cheapest option you can stay 3 weeks per month, with the more expensive option you can also stay 3 weeks per month ?
    Longer booking time is that really worth thousands of dollars more?

    The thing I fear about TT/RV parks is noise.
    Anybody else's machine audio drives me nuts. Others too. Other "big name" RV TH-camrs say they absolutely Will Not stay in RV parks b/c of that.
    If TT could promise to protect campers from machine audio, they could get the "I hate RV parks b/c of noise" business.
    What's been your experience?
    How do you deal with it?
    Is it a problem for you guys?

So far our cost has been ZERO in 54 days. And we have booked to January 12 2023 and all sites is costing us ZERO. I have seen the sights before and got several great recommendations at all the sites we are staying. I also have 210 advance reservation set-up on my TT.
