@@Evilixie I never said I hated it...? I actually loved her look! And yes, I did my fair share of research on the book, as well as the theme for the exhibit. It was just funny because you expect people (especially Doja) to do something really dramatic and big and deliberately on the theme (based on her looks from previous years) and then she showed up in a wet t-shirt dress with a very left-field take on the theme. As for Rosalia, I didn't see her interview or her saying the quote from the original comment here, but the way they phased it seems like she stated it in a very deadpan manner and like she may have misinterpreted the "sleeping beauties" part a bit 😅
And the theme for celebrities wasn't even sleeping beauties
Tyla understood. The dress code short story of Garden of Time, in the end all the garden was destroyed and what was left want a two statues that turned into sand! Making her Sands of time🙌🏼🔥also her sand dress was so fragile it can only be worn once like the sleeping beauties in the exhibition.🙌🏼👏🏼she delivered

The Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion exhibit is about showcasing/displaying items that have degraded over time and are too fragile to be worn anymore. So the people with the more torn up looking garments are still on theme. Charli XCX for instance. Her dress looks moth eaten.

Kendalls look really grew on me to be honest, it's giving mischievous forest fairy. If she had like little horns (maleficent vibes) or small twigs woven into her hair it would've been even better.

Lana's heavenly bodies look is one of my top met gala looks ever. This year's look is also so iconic. It's a reference to another dress from the 2006 Alexander McQueen autumn/winter collection.

yeah it is because kids were being MURDERED while it was happening and this was just a distraction from the LITERAL GENOCIDE(S) HAPPENING.
I think what some (many) people missed is that the title is "sleeping beauties" not "sleeping beauty", is about beauties of the past that are "asleep", forgotten even, that are in fact in the past and in this Met those beauties were supposed to be brought back, once again, to the public attention with a "The Met" touch (I don't know if that makes sense)

I loved Dove Cameron and Danimo David looks. Also cause I crush heavily on both of them. Also Zendaya SLAYED in both her looks

Emma Chamberlain, Zendaya, and Tyla had my favorite looks of the night! I love when people commit to the theme wholeheartedly and they all looked GORG!!!!!! Special mention to Elle Fanning and Gustav Magnar! Go boy, give us Roman Empire!
you know Jennie was there, stray kids were also there, yes they were wearing suits but there's one guy where you could pass his natural face as on theme, cus his face looks like a whimsical fairy.

They had the floral theme running throughout and Tommy Hilfiger did a reimagining of his prep theme throughout time. The details are exquisite and on brand for Tommy Hilfiger

Doja wore a T-shirt dress which is made from cotton, cotton comes from a cotton plant which is a timeless material used in clothing. So you could say she was on theme but also wish she did more with it and took that and the drapery from Hellenistic Greek statues and made something a little more creative

Although, not as much of a fan of Greta Lee's look (doesn't do much for her silhouette). Not a fan of Gwedoline Christie's outfit either mostly because of the velvety fabric. I find Bad Bunny's look to have TOO much going on, we don't know where to look. Same, Ashley Graham is not my vibe BUT Lil Nas X I LIKE IT.

Barry and Lewis Hamilton were my favourite men. Look up the interview where Lewis shows and explains the detail in his look. i had the same reaction Elle Fanning’s fountain look too. without the perfect execution it might have been to understated for the met gala but it was actually perfect.
