I think one of the girl who should be on “ MET HISTORY” is not even in the video(i meant alia,not a fan but it was my #1 fav met gala).

Mona Patel and Alia Bhatt yes. Nicki Minaj was couture and on theme but it was a mess. Her team constantly drops the Met ball and it’s very disappointing

agree with mona! the look ate, no crumbs, and the butterflies 😍 imho designers really *should* incorporate more tech, so many advances in robotics and material engineering these days

There was a very recent documentary and they were interviewing very well-off women. These women were speaking about how they no longer purchase authentic purses and have chosen to purchase really good *esluxs* of the designer bags that they do like. They then take that saved money and invest their money into other things such as real estate, stocks etc.

That dress with the wooden bodice is incredible!! It looks like her skin. I love Grecian style gowns. I would put it in MET History.

hi cassie! i’m from brazil so sorry for my bad English. I was SO surprised by Tyla outfit, because in the first metgala Anna Wintour doesn’t let people ✨shine✨ mostly, people from other countries, but Tyla DID IT!
First look into Gigi's gown I thought flowers garden, very classy, beautiful silhouette, suit/dress like count/countess, cute. I had a second look now and it looks like she's a flower coming out of a disintegrating suit. Like what was left of the Count's suite became a beautiful garden again. A take on time and the inevitable cycle of creation, destruction and creation. Is this what they were aiming for? Genius.

Personally, as a vintage lover I was a bit disappointed. I was expecting much more rare vintage pieces, like the one Kendall Jenner was wearing. I would also have put most of the dresses into the « nice but forgettable » category too.

I loved Quannah Chasinghorse's dress. It simple and elegant, and doesn't overpower her. The dress could have been tea length and slimmer but it's a gorgeous dress.The hair and jewelry worked. Love.

This was a fun theme that I feel was a lot easier to interpret than some in previous years and really looked forward to the DRAMA that might come down the carpet. I absolutely loved Taylor Russell and Tyla and the moving butterflies!!! Holy crap, that was a moment and I think that should have been in MET History! All that said, I wish there had been way more DRAMA, I needed more!!

Love your take on the dresses. Although I'm missing Mindy Kaling, her dress was a work of art.
Doja interviewed on the carpet and said the inspo was Cotton being the most used "flower" of all time... and a t-shirt being forever timeless
also the tears on her face may be dedicated to the cotton harvesting industry being quite unethical with lots of ppl dying from inhaling huge amount of pesticides

Tyla was my number 1 she looked stunning and surprised me the most. great look for her first Met. Nicole Kidman, Gigi Hadid, and Kim K were solid. I wanted more from Coleman Domingo but his look was lovely.

The moving butterflies dress has a steampunk vibe to me. Absolutely stunning and my favourite dress of the night! Although I have a hard time deciding between the sand dress or this one as both are just out of this world 😍
Just an FYI, Cara's outfit was actually refreshingly on theme as at least one person on that team actually read the short story and decided to do something that wasn't just a flower. One of the central "characters" in the story is an army mob that is held off by plucking "time flowers" which eventually run out. It's a very good story and worth the read. It's only 6 pages long and can easily be found online.

Bad Bunny’s outfit seemed to be the only one that referenced the encroaching army from the story. The military stripes on the pants though moved to the inseam, and the Jacket that read like padded armour were genius. The moment was the conquest of the garden and obtaining the flowers. I loved this outfit.

I cannot believe you didn’t put the Iris van Herpen on Mona Patel in “Met History”. She was a walking garden attracting butterflies, then the movement of the butterflies brought in the aspect of time, both by appearing as living elements and in the mechanical “clockwork” aspect. That was THE outfit of the night. That one really deserves to be in Met History

Loved the review Cassie! Three looks you didn’t touch on one that I thought were interesting, Mindy Kaling’s look! Loved! It was like she was blooming. I loved the color of Kerry Washington’s look. Lastly, Madelyn Cline’s look was understated, especially for the Met, but I liked it!

I have to preface my post by saying I feel like the Grinch who stole Christmas tonight. I’m going to have to disagree about Zendaya’s second look - I found it as underwhelming as the first. I also didn’t like her look from inside the gala as well. Maybe it was the hair and makeup, too? Because I don’t think her Met Gala carpet looks gelled this year. Unfortunate, as I’m normally a huge fan of her outfits.
Apparently Anna Wintour originally wanted a theme dedicated to John Galliano’s history as a designer but was talked out of it (because of his scandalous past). She did manage to get two of her co-chairs in Galliano - Zendaya in two looks and Bad Bunny in one - although I don’t think it paid off for Zendaya.
Agree about Tyla and Tyler’s looks though - although Tyla’s isn’t Met history worthy to me. I don’t find it memorable.

I actually thought that Zendaya’s first look was net history to me but the second look was just nice but forgettable. I do think that the Swarovski looks are on theme based on colors because it’s very much a garden of colors, particularly as a group. On Kim K, the sweater ruined the dress for me. H&M actually had some really beautiful gowns.
Are you doing a part 2? There are so many others I would love see you talk about. Like Eiza Gonzalez, Dove Cameron, Karlie Kloss. A lot that looked interesting. Like Gabrielle Union’s, not going to lie looked like a big under the sea themed dress

I loved Zendayas looks,on point. Mona looked exeptional in my opinion she deserves to be in MET history. Tyla looked great ,very different and out of the box interpretation. Bad bunny did it for me in the men's section. Jenne looked gorgeous and I loved Nickis outfit.
