I love making stuff and then selling it in the trade chat because the market has been huge for simple things like bags. It's been so rewarding and you can make some really neat stuff
All except for the RNG. Nearly 1/3 of the recipes in Dragonflight require you to get them from Recipes on a Bottle, which have such a low rate of finding and then you have even MORE RNG when you get one, because it could be any recipe regardless if you need it or not.
No matter how good the rework is, professions are simply to get gold, and other people get the gold that takes you days/weeks, they get it in seconds just by using credit card. How can you not find it pointless?

I think what you're trying to get at when you're describing the travelling is that they made the zones HUGE. It feels like a very big world to explore and even after spending hours in it you still find little nooks and crannies you didn't know were there before. But they made dragonriding fast so it doesn't take forever to get from A to B. It's world of warcraft not town of warcraft now.
Great point on enjoying the game early. I've also not understood why people speed run the content and then get upset when they run out of things to do. I've been playing pretty consistently since Legion, and this is the most fun I've had in years, playing maybe an hour a day. It seems to me like the developers have decided to treat WoW like an MMO and not a competitive instanced based e-sport.
How to fix the microphone problem: go to OBS settings and find audio capture device 2,3,4 .. fill them all up with the one's you DO NOT want recording. "Default" and such goes on these priorities. Depends how many webcams or other audio capturing devices you have plugged in, make sure them all have a slot. After doing that you go to your recording Scene and mute those sources that OBS detects as audio capture devices. The ones 2, 3, 4, ... etc. Depending on how many things you have plugged in that it gets confused with. This happens alot when you have let's say a webcam with a mic and you start the webcam software to boot up the webcam before running OBS, then OBS will switch ur mic to that webcam mic which may or may not record. This is the case for me. Either way this method is a fail-safe way of making sure your good mic is always being used when available, regardless of other funky business other devices might incur, as when it's placed above all other devices in recording devices list; OBS will always use it first priority. Hope it helps and that you get to see this. I finally cracked this dilemma like 3 years later smh.
The new talent tree is so addictive, everytime i play with ppl i see they classes and feel like rerolling. I really cant decide which class i wanna fully commit :D !
I love the class design, talent tree revamp and extremely appreciate the new professions system. All in all a breath of good fresh air with dragon flight.
I hate the new talent trees. Half the baseline stuff is gone, my mage is wack now. The absolute state of moonkin and frost do is garbage. Modern blizzard dropped the ball worse than classic wintergrasp. The loss of Ghostcrawler and its consequences have been a disaster for world of warcraft He was a hero. I just couldn’t see it
It's pretty crazy seeing every youtuber make glowing WoW review vids lately. I'm enjoying it myself as well so I get it. Still a bit surreal and still holding out my doubts lol. Glad my guildies are back.
I’ve never had more fun just cruising around farming rares and doing random quests when I feel like it. I’ve finally got a bit of a routine now but it’s so fun not forcing myself to quest on rails . I’m really digging it
Dragonflight has a lot of depths with all the activities around the new reputations. There are ways to farm them reaching new levels giving you news ways to play with your professions. Professions are finally enjoyable and full of ways to make your progress worthy. Everything is connected , fun and not mandatory. You do what you enjoy .
In the area with the old gods and ragnoros you we’re literally in the fight before Rag became a puppet of the old gods (you went that far back in time to get chromie)
And you didn't even check out the new professions system, another thing that changed and honestly it's kinda cool, also you should try out the huntings in Ohnara and the cooking event with the tuskarr in azure. Tons of stuff to spend time.
Hi Peon, great first impression and I think you are spot on. Do you think you will do an additional follow up to Dragonflight now that the season has started? So far it seems like the community has been very receptive on the new m+ style of incorporating new and old content into the season. The new m+ affix seems appropriate with the opportunity to min max it or keep it more casual. Since the bulk of WoW's content as of later expansions has been the end game do you plan on trying it out to see what has changed? I know in the past the games that you have enjoyed playing you did a recap of how you have progressed (BDO for example). Hope to see more content!
This XPac has so many good stories that really deserves the read and listen in every zone. There is much more different questing alternatives than just killing stuff and people with their own customs you get to participate in and become sort of one of them. I am so glad I came back from legion to this after many years that I get to benefit from all the shit they did wrong. This is blizzards saving grace and they know it. Now that they saw what China does business wise and decouple themselves from their business model, they know they have to do everything right for us the western markets and go back to what once was their own philosophy of making games. Anything from now on should be guaranteed good for the OG blizzard games audience. It has to. Hope this renewed focus keeps going. I even bought this Xpac for my best friend. Back to the old faithful MMO.
Dont wanna be that guy but I feel the need to correct something. The timey wimey questline doesnt take you to a version of Azeroth that fell to the Old Gods, it takes you to Azeroth before the Titans arrived.
10:53 The Tauren that goes with you explains that is not the future but the past, a very far away past of Azeroth when the Black Empire was ruling the planet.
I also quit in Legion, {after having tried Panda for 2 months and Draenor for 1 month}. - Hated them all. Played the classic versions instead of BFA/SL and had an absolute blast, it was so fun. Trying DF now and well, its pretty decent but I dont like the combat mechanics in modern WoW - the gameplay is very rotationheavy kinda like setting up mortal kombat combos. Questing is very linear and forced storymode and trust me, some npcs are extremely annoying having to follow and listen to. Whats worse, the magic that exists in the classic versions seems lost in modern WoW.
The bulky dragon people in the isles are not Drakthyr. Just pointing that out. They are Draconids. We've seen them ever since Vanilla. They are actual dragons, not mutations created by Neltharion. They belong to a specific flight, and can only use 1 type of magic, that of their flight. Meanwhile Dracthyr uses all of the diferent dragon types. The Dracthyr are exclusively casters, which is another distinction. The draconid usualy have the bulky types that are melee, or melee-casters, and the lyzard type that are pure caster types, and then there is the last type which i cant remember their exact name, the bulky 4 legged ones like the last one in UBRS, they are mostly melee types as well.
@@filips2146 Yes. And that is what i hope. If this expansion is a success and people ask for it, that could help they add the Draconid with a more varid type of classes, or maybe they will have their own class, but of course, something that will be a mixture of melee and caster, as they have always been represented, being able to be tanks or dmg dealers.
so why is drageonflight a thing at all? During wotlk I had a dragon as a mount and could fly. Guild wars 2 introduces this mount completely new and suddenly Blizz has to make a big deal out of this like it wasn't already in the game like a decade ago?! Or did I miss them taking these dragonmounts away?!
Is it too late to play WoW again now with this expac and have fun? I dont have much free time, but it not being hardcore anymore sounds really promising, but I'd hate to feel I get left behind, since I prob wont hit 70 before in like a month or so at the fastest
Dragonflight has definitely been a breath of fresh air and I've loved everything so far. Splitting time between this and the new Pokemon game has made me feel not overwhelmed or burnt out at all and makes me keep wanting to come back and do something else in WOW
@@naur1917 guess he/ she/ they are someone who's triggered by seeing people play a game xD. As long as a game is fun to play, who cares if the player base is dead or not :D
I tried WoW in the past and got burnt out quickly cuz I played the first content they released that’s available, do you recommend I retry the game and start on dragon flight?
This expansion has had one of the best starts that I can remember. The key for Blizzard is to have consistent updates. Never again can we go through an 8 month content drought like in Shadowlands
I've decided to jump back on after leaving in the 3rd week of Cata and never looking back. Any videos out there that covers all the chances I'm about to face as a new character? I'm at level 12 and did the new character island for alliance and just escaped prison where Jena is locked up. Is there level scaling or something?
Small nitpick. the "dractthyr npcs" arent Dracthyr. they are a different. While id like for them to get the looks people want, they arent "actually" the same race.
I feel the opposite about joining on expansion/patch release. Whenever I play on initial release I find quest areas are swamped with other groups and there's more pressure to keep up gearing with other players and not fall behind. Whenever I delay a few weeks or months, I feel much less pressure to stay up to date and can generally find lots more guides to get what I want faster and spend less time grinding.
8:11 Did they take away Insert and Delete button steering in newer expansions? I haven't played in a long time, but I know it was possible in WOTLK to do loops while flying with Insert and Delete buttons.
I think its more fair to say atleast for the dragonriding both wow and guild wars copied spyro, or maybe guild wars copied spyro and wow copied guild wars
i havent played wow since few months into wow. havent really followed it either, blizzard sent a free 3 days game play for wows new expansion. Is the new xpac any good?
I can't wait to play it again, I used to play 14h+ per day, but now that I have a job, a wife and 4 pets, I'm so happy to know I can be a casual and have fun!
While in general I agree with all you describing sounding promising, I must disagree with the idea of new patches being the only focus. The game wasn't like this back in the day. In Wrath, many guilds on my server were doing all raids of the expansion even after IC released. Heck, people were even doing vanilla raids (and wiping in them now and then, even without triggering insta-kill mechanics). Not trying to be annoying nor rude, if you base it of your personal taste, you do you. I just think it's quite telling how people used to run old raids and meet a challenge and even have fun while doing old content once upon a time, and nowdays even stuff from the previous expansion or things from earlier in the expansion's end game (at least as late as BFA) are often little more than loot piñatas. Or have other things causing them to just not function.
Question, for new players could they start in dragonflight’s new zone and level up there? Really want to get into WoW & gw2, but I’m not sure where to start with WoW.
You could with the Heroic edition, it gives a level 60 boost meaning you can level like everyone else from 60 to 70. But don't feel obligated to do that, you'll probably get overwhelmed. Leveling from 1 to 60 doesn't take a lot of time and it can be pretty relaxing. You won't see a lot of people out in older content since we just got a new xpac and the world is huge but just take your time with it and you'll enjoy it I'm sure of it.
@@xRichhhx You can use the boost whenever you want to right? I may just level each class to 20 or so and get a feel for them before using the boost and head to the new zone. Would that work? I did level a druid to like 10 a few month ago when I was trying the game out a few months ago.
@@Chronic_Gainz Yeah they're indefinite and would work. I'd still really recommend just leveling the class you like the most and not boosting that one. Maybe when you get a good feel for the game then you can boost a second character. All your choice though ofc, just warning you because the talent system can be overwhelming to newer players, unless you're an ARPG/MMO vet haha.
I must admit, I rejoined based on Lazy's vid... not been overly impressed so far. I mean there are improvements but the lore and feel of the world is awful.
Dragonflight is by far the most fun I've had in WoW since Legion, and its really weird that everyone playing WoW ingame is talking HIGHLY of it instead of complaining..
“I don’t know why people play wow as their only game” You won’t know if you did not play in the MMO boom of early 2000s. MMO to some of us is a second life to real life. It was built on the very foundation of being playable after end content. The idea was to live in this world and be part of it. Loyalty to one IP made it more real for us. So yeah, not everyone whores around different game titles, some of us look for one home. This is what MMOs we’re supposed to be, and are the complete opposite now. Even the old vision of an MMO you can play casual, it was all up to the player what his success meant, not what you tubers or meta gamers think.
It really blows my mind now that I think about how popular the very few world events in WoW are , the legion invasion the DF pre patch and world bosses . Makes me wonder why blizzard refuses to capitalize on this and limits them so severely. Every time I played those events in the world I've never seen it more alive. WoW needs to incorporate some timeless isle into the world as a whole , much like GW2 and ESO does.
I don't know if it's still a thing since my bindings are all wack, but there is was a way to do loops while flying. I wanna say it was Home and End, Page up/down, or ins/del.
I've been a casual MMO player since I knew what they were, but WOW is one of those games I was always to intimidated to try. Recent years it seems like everyone kind of hates it except people who've played it since release. Is it worth jumping in as a casual player?
Seems certain Dragonriding will be a returning feature, I think it would be cool if after this expansion the dragons come along with us to the next one as like a "Oh you've helped us a lot, we'll help you with this next threat" thing. We can accrue stuff like that, new/old allies over the next couple expansions and then get an MCU style scene of all the allies from the last three or four xpacs uniting against the inevitable world ending threat in like five expansions
One of my biggest issues with modern WoW is how faceroll easy the open world is. Would love an Ironman mode with harder leveling and open world, which could give unique rewards, more xp from each mob etc.
@@filips2146 Retail is overall much better in the dungeon and raids department; it's the open world I have issues with. Open world in Vanilla certainly wasn't as faceroll as in Retail. The difficulty curve felt much better. People would die all the time, often if they pulled an extra mob or two. It isn't without reason that there has been growing an Ironman community on Vanilla private servers and even in SoM. But yes it was time consuming due to all the traveling and stuff.
completely agree with what you said about mmo's only being as fun as the current patch. I personally waited around 3-4 days before jumping in just to make sure it wasnt a complete shitshow. Glad i eventually jumped in towards the 2nd half of the 1st week because I didn't miss out on any of the mmo launch hype either
The professions being overhauled was big. I’ve been a blacksmith/miner since vanilla. I don’t think I’ve ever used my skills aside from making gear for myself since Lich King and we had to make titansteel for people. That change to the profession system really blew me away. It was akin to FF 14 in some ways. I’m so glad the narrative started including more characters. I think we were all a little sick of Alliance leader vs bad guy. I think Dragonflight is exactly what WoW needs at this stage in it’s life. I’m very excited for this expansions life cycle.
The biggest thing I can't believe they actually fixed is trade chat. Boosters have been forced into a new channel called services due to TOS changes, and you can just mute or delete that channel permanently if you want. Meanwhile all the profession changes make it so that being a crafter is actually very valuable. Trade chat is actually a huge spamfest of people asking for fellow crafters who can make a certain item or component for their own crafting. I just can't believe that nearly everything they set out to do this expansion was a success. Talent revamp was a success... profession revamp was a success, dragonriding was a success... It feels really strange to not have a "but" with WoW for the first time in years.
Just a suggestion, if you looking to get into Albion which you says is bad for your ping, just turn the graphics down as that is what i do since I play from Australia
@@naur1917 shut up tool. stop defending wow in 2022. get a job, get a hobby. defending the game for free is justpathetic. they take addons and make them a new feature in next updates, they reused demon hunter model to make dracthyr horrible looking model. they stole mount system from GW2 and races from GW2, lore wise this is another toddler level of writing.
I returned. I completely fell off the game over the last 2 expansions - I played a bunch of BFA but slowly found myself disillusioned with the direction and systems the game was sticking with. Shadowlands I initially enjoyed the leveling but quickly fell off post-60 with how annoying the Maw was and how time consuming and unfriendly the game was toward alts. Decided to give Dragonflight a go as I've been connected to WoW on and off since the original Beta...and glad I did. A real breath for fresh air. I already have 2 70's and a 3rd close, and the quality of life systems are great. Dragonriding feels like the best system they have done in a decade or more. You're right...they can't remove it and it needs to be here to stay. Thank you for the video and sharing your thoughts!
8:21 I haven't played WoW since Pandaria (the big 25m bug tower I believe was the latest patch of the game), but unless they've completely redesigned the game, I would regularly fly upside down. I used to enjoy doing that as a druid, turning into a bird, performing a weird midair back flip, then flying awkwardly upside-down to my next destination.
I leveled a Druid from 1-70 and fully geared him up. Only to switch to priest, just like you did. Priest just feels more fun to play for me. A lot more straight forward and shadow is a powerful solo spec.
Yeah, Dragonflight is absolutely a breath of fresh air, it feels like World of Warcraft again. My only issue with the game these days is that all the changes to game mechanics and systems; for example, the GCD, ability pruning over the years, UI changes and professions etc, remove that feeling of nostalgia. Whilst it is WoW at its core, it has been altered so much that it feels like a new game, rather than true to its roots. If they reversed some of the changes they've made over the years, such as the above, save maybe professions, I think it would be in a perfect position.
This is the first expansion since I started in wotlk that, over a week later, I'm STILL not at max lvl. Not because it's not fun, rather the opposite!! I hard focused msq (turns out it only gets you to about 67 with no extra stuff done), then with adventure mode unlocked I been playing around on alts already. Got my dragon glyphs then other day, and last few days I been deep in the profession stuff. Which is another cool thing they've done, a LOT of this stuff can be done before max lvl! With adventure mode scaling everything especially, you can progress a lot of different systems without being 70, and it's a fantastic change of pace
There is a benefit to sticking to one character for the first little while though, rep farming is faster on alts once youve reached renown milestones with each faction.

How to fix the microphone problem:
go to OBS settings and find audio capture device 2,3,4 .. fill them all up with the one's you DO NOT want recording.

Dragonflight has a lot of depths with all the activities around the new reputations. There are ways to farm them reaching new levels giving you news ways to play with your professions. Great vid and I agree with your take. I really love the new talent tree tbh.

And you didn't even check out the new professions system, another thing that changed and honestly it's kinda cool, also you should try out the huntings in Ohnara and the cooking event with the tuskarr in azure. Tons of stuff to spend time.
it took 16 and a half years for them to implement rated solo que pvp
You can get the book mount you mentioned was cool.

The draconid usualy have the bulky types that are melee, or melee-casters, and the lyzard type that are pure caster types, and then there is the last type which i cant remember their exact name, the bulky 4 legged ones like the last one in UBRS, they are mostly melee types as well.
still feels like a miss if they dont add draconids as a allied race
@@filips2146 Yes. And that is what i hope. If this expansion is a success and people ask for it, that could help they add the Draconid with a more varid type of classes, or maybe they will have their own class, but of course, something that will be a mixture of melee and caster, as they have always been represented, being able to be tanks or dmg dealers.

Wouldnt dragonriding essentially make every other race of mounts useless? How are they solving that?
Small nitpick. the "dractthyr npcs" arent Dracthyr. they are a different. While id like for them to get the looks people want, they arent "actually" the same race.

I feel the opposite about joining on expansion/patch release. Whenever I play on initial release I find quest areas are swamped with other groups and there's more pressure to keep up gearing with other players and not fall behind. Whenever I delay a few weeks or months, I feel much less pressure to stay up to date and can generally find lots more guides to get what I want faster and spend less time grinding.

Or have other things causing them to just not function.
nice video i have been enjoying the game so far but i cant settle on a main class to play
Question, for new players could they start in dragonflight’s new zone and level up there? Really want to get into WoW & gw2, but I’m not sure where to start with WoW.
Pretty sure it comes with 1 boost that you can use on 1 character that’ll let you jump right into dragon isle

“I don’t know why people play wow as their only game”
You won’t know if you did not play in the MMO boom of early 2000s.
ACTUALLY........Those gigachad dragon people are not Dracthyr. Those are Draconid, who have been in the game since vanilla. They just got a new model.
Is there a subscription to pay monthly and if yes does it cost real money or in game currency?
Yes, $15 or you can use a WoW token to keep your sub going, those can be purchased with rl money or in game gold.
The gigachad dracthyr are called drakonid and they have been around since forever 🤓 but we never got to play them 😢
I've been a casual MMO player since I knew what they were, but WOW is one of those games I was always to intimidated to try. Recent years it seems like everyone kind of hates it except people who've played it since release. Is it worth jumping in as a casual player?
Wtf everytime i think of going back you make a video.. The timing 😂
Priest is fun , to learn my keybinds for discP i lived as one, you are bit behind on damage but overall nearly unkillable my mobs aswell.
One of my biggest issues with modern WoW is how faceroll easy the open world is.
Would love an Ironman mode with harder leveling and open world, which could give unique rewards, more xp from each mob etc.
litterly the only hard part of classic wow everything else is faceroll, or let me rephrase not hard just time consuming
@@dannyp9210 yes it was never really hard just more time consuming, classic players mixes up the two

Hopium. Copium. WoW How to train your Dragonflight! BAH🤣🤣🤣

Worth playing again? Haven’t played seriously since Mists of Pandaria but I honestly miss it.
I like how it is almost universally agreed that the buff dragonkin would have been WAY cooler than the dracthyr as a playable race.
