  • Heres a step by step how to video on a temperature blend door motor/actuator video for you 2004-2010 ford f150. Very common for that part to fail on your truck, good way to tell if it's broken. Sometimes it will click or it'll be stuck on blowing hot air or cold air that easy! Tools you'll need are a 7mm socket with a ratchet preferably 1/4. Trim panel tool small screw driver or pick, 8mm wrench the ratchet one work best! Here's a link to this part on Amazon. www.amazon.com/Ford-9L3z19e61.... Thank you please like subscribe and share. Great video! Thanks for the walk through. Clearance on the 3 bolts was difficult on mine, but luckily I got the TEKTON 18063 Stubby Combination Wrench, 8 mm on AMZN and I was able to get'er done. It took a while though, but my heat is now working after years!

    Thanks for the video helped a ton.
    Only thing you forgot to mention is that you need hands the size of a 4-year-old to get to the screw on the back side through the glove box.. at least on my 07 f150 lariat I had a heluva time getting my hand back there. My hand and forearm looks like I stuck it in a weed wacker lol but I got it.

    Thanks Trevor! Works like a charm now! Those 3 bolts were tricky... I needed to just take a mental picture of the them and then just go for it by feel. (08'_F150_5 speed)

      What does it do

    • @Relic67
      @Relic67 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jeffreyslay1607 It moves a door inside the HVAC system that either lets in hot air from the heater core or cold air from the AC system or a combination of both.

    Thanks man I replaced mine. Was a challenge cuz of the tight squeeze but I got it in, n got all 3 8mm bolts in snug. Couldn't fit a ratchet wrench in because the walls of the wrench head were too thick and there was very little clearance between the bolt head and the housing of the actuator so I had to use a regular 8mm wrench.. Lost a bolt and the wrench at one point. Retrieved them some how lol. Heats working good!!! Also I initially thought it was the heater core, paid $35 to have diagnosed at the automotive shop

    I "think" this is my issue however, how do you know its not an issue with the actual controller. Hope its actuator, a lot cheaper than controller! Thanks for video, this is great!

    Would this fix my air not coming out of the dash when selected on dash. I have ac and heat but only comes out of the dash if I have it set to floor.

  • @hatteraslabuf
    @hatteraslabuf ปีที่แล้ว

    Sure wish you would’ve shown how to get that ratchet end on the screw hex head. The ratchet end is thicker which prevents you from getting hit next to the housing to back off the rear screw.

    Are you supposed to "calibrate" these after replacement on an 07? Seen a lot of forums talking about that with different methods of doing so.

    Great video. I could not get my new actuator in. The splines on the old one are not in the location, The space does not line up with the line on the housing one the one that I removed - tried to turn on ignition to move the shaft around some so it would drop in - no luck. Any tricks?

    I have replaced the the actuator on top and the one near the gas pedal and I still have nothing but heat. I can see one on the right/passenger side but ductwork is in the way. I can’t find a video for removal of the ducts or the actuator.HELP! I’ve been working on this truck several days. I bought my replacements from autozone and O’Rielly, both DORMAN brand, now I’m told that they might not even work.

    What if the gate is open or closed? Does it matter? I would think the actuator has to go in while it is open or closed? I dont know which one.

    seems like it wasnt the blend door actuator but the air flow directional door actuator

    My truck has a ticking sound that happens sometimes but not always. The heat still works fine. It’s just a noise that sometimes happen, like a “tick tick tick “ kinda sound, sometimes it lasts 10 minutes sometimes it lasts longer sometimes it doesn’t do it at all. Any idea ?

    • @Mongo_mav
      @Mongo_mav  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sounds like a blend door is stuck wanting to switch from hot to cold air but since it's stuck it won't move and cause a clicking noise. Could way to test it is when it's clicking unplug the connector and if the noise goes away you just diaged the problem.

    • @jojojo57
      @jojojo57 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Mongo_mav okay. you're talking about disconnecting the connector of the actuator ? then would i have to replace the blend door or the actuator ?

  • @carlosquintanilla3742

    Trevor how many blend door motors are there. I just had mine replaced and the guy told me there were three of them.

    • @Mongo_mav
      @Mongo_mav  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes there is three of them. Mode door actuator air inlet door. Mode door actuator defrost/panel/floor floor. And the one I'm replacing in the video temperature blend door actuator.

    • @jimhans1
      @jimhans1 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Trevor Pehrson what does the air inlet motor control? Outside or recirculating air? My 2006 f150 lariat king cab won't blow hot or cold. It blows air, and the vent options (defrost, dash vents, floor) works, but the temp stays the exact same whether I select 60 degrees or 90 degrees, the temp never changes. Guessing it's the blend door actuator motor.

  • @raditzsayayin7481

    • @Mongo_mav

      Yes that is what this actuator was doing before it was replaced.

  • @466htrd

    Hopefully when you take the actuator motor off, the blend door itself isn't broken down inside the heating unit

      Terry Dillard i have the same problem but I think that i may need a blend door actuator like what he showing

    • @Mongo_mav
      @Mongo_mav  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Terry Dillard You have a restriction somewhere. Either a vent door partially open and closed. The actuator can allow the blend door to open all the way. Condensation can go many different ways. Depends where you live to.
