Thank you guys so much for building such an amazing booth! I was lucky enough to attend NAMM this year and see it in person as well as talking in-depth with John Good and Rich Sikra about all of your new products. I've been a fan of DW since getting my first Collectors series kit 8 years ago - DW for life!
I will never ever stop being a DW player. I have used their hardware and pedals for 20 years. I hope someday I will be able to own a DW kit to go with everything else. I love the innovation I have see through the years. DW just keeps getting better and better. Somehow, perfecting perfection.
Richie Huckeby I’ve used their pedals for 22 years. I just bought a design series. I bought coated heads and didn’t buy the snare. I use my acrolite. Leave the pillows out of the bass drum and they mirror John Bonham’s sound. Now I have to get a dw tom stand. My Ludwig atlas stand won’t hold the weight of the 12” tom, I play a four piece. I have an Evans hydraulic bass head. I may try it on the bass drum. I’ve never been a fan of pillows in a bass drum. Fuck Dave Grohl.
I literally just got a butterfly excited feeling when I saw that pedal. I can't wait for people to make a comparison video between the MDD and the Demon Drive!
me too!! I was pretty sure I was going to get the demon drives but now ... im confused! but lets be honest Peal Demon drives puts all the greatest advantages of their pedals in terms of playability this guys dont :/
What a great booth! Definitely the best one I've seen on TH-cam of this years show. Hopefully one day I can meet you guys at NAMM and maybe own a DW kit myself :)
John the drum whisperer RIP Neil Peart 💔🙏 a phenomenal role model, philosopher, educator, humanitarian, author , composer, lyricist o yea also a drummer too lol Much respect 🙏
Sure love that PDP Maple Snare w/ Wood Hoops (along with everything else). Does anyone know the name John mentions at around 7:04 and who they are exactly?
I love you guys at DW. I've been using your 5000 models for the last 10 years. I have your most updated model of the 5000 double pedal and i love it!! Im curious about the connecting rod for the direct drive pedal. I saw that it was to make the slave pedal react the same as the right side. I wanted to know if it would work for the 5000 model as a connecting rod to make the slave in my pedal feel the same.
Why is no one talking about the most simple yet ingenious part of that pedal? The holes to cut down air resistance. This seems like it could easily be one of the best pedals out there, and I cannot wait to try one one.
looking at those pedals all i can think about are my trick pro1v pedals, they really do remind me of them, someone was inspired. but aside from my needless rock throwing. those snares oh god thats beautiful and to be made they way you say they are is massively impressive on so many levels and are incredibly beautiful, i am quite jealous of who ever takes one home
ohhh the joy of watching apples old products with a new look being presented as state of the art, and new... oh wait is this DW, I didn't realise, their lack of innovation while disguising it as innovation is truly awe inspiring. I just adore the way their drums look while still sounding so beautifully average for the price. surely it is nothing but la crème de la crème of slightly customizable kits that cost around the same as fully custom kits. beauty at it's finest
I am liking the new pedals. Wow!! I remember my first one like my first car. DW 5000 double. Man, she was sweet, smooth, and fast as hell! Major upgrade to my old wore out Cannons. I cant wait to check these out, and possibly bring a couple home. You guys hit all the marks on it!! Finally, somebody listened. Cheers DW!! subbed!! 2 used axis pedals for sale... lol
The pedals look awesome! I have a pair of Pearl direct drive and can't imagine going back to chain! With these from DW look to have a lot of adjustments. Makes me wonder how easy they could get out of adjustment.
Really a mind blower video. Wow. I love DW. You guys are the Cadillac! I just want to slam all those beautiful drums....nicely of course. That Queen snare....beautiful. Really curious about 15" mahogany snare. You guys set the bar. I'll take one of everything.
This will obviously be a little late but in the video Rich mentions that the MDD is the first direct drive pedal DW has offered, wouldn't the PDP BOA technically be the first as it was manufactured by DW?
Love the drums..... But that new direct drive pedal looks like an Axis or TRICK. If I'm paying good money for a DW pedal, I want the iconic look of a DW pedal. I'm sure it functions beautifully.
That pedal looks innovative, but seems to be marketed towards the metal genre.. It would've been nice if Dw came out with a simple 5000 direct drive pedal.. Too bad :(
Direct Drive is normally for metal, considering it's the most accurate and balanced in terms of speed. It's much more difficult to get a machine gun sound with strap or chain drive because of their slack.
Would love the Roger Taylor snare drum from the iconic line, unfortunately I don't have the £1086 it costs. I'd give away a kidney to own one though lol
we have a super 32nd over a 16th over a ludwig wrapped in tama then we chewed up and spit out a shell that is amazing! you cant afford half the shit we sell... we can just make up whatever the fuck we want and you will buy it muhahahaha!!
Hello, DW Started out mainly as a custom shop which we will always have. Over the years we have expanded our line of drums to meet every price range and still keep our DW integrity. Please check out all that we have to offer and I m sure we a stellar kit for you. :-) www.dwdrums.com/drums/design/
Hey John, what have you done lately? Still big ugly lugs, extremely heayy hardware.. everyone else is leaping ahead of you with lighter, more attractive hardware.. you have not changed yours in, I don't know, 20+years? Time to roll with the changes wouldn't ya say?
Hi Jeff Ballou We've had many different styles of hardware for many years. Here is a link to our lightest series of Hardware. We hope you like it. Take care. www.dwdrums.com/hardware/6000/
Dude really .... DW hardware is freaking bullet proof ,,, had many different brands over the years and all have gone to pieces ,, but my DW hardware is still hanging strong.....

Those signature snares are just gorgeous! Great job
Went to DW day this year. Had a ball. Great drums and hardware. Thnx Mr J. Good.
teleporting to 2017. and seeing the Stradivarius kit. and the journey behind it,
Awesome work, as alwaysDW! You guys just keep making incredible instruments for us!
I have played and owned other drumkits but I really love the sound and uniqueness of DW/PDP
I literally just got a butterfly excited feeling when I saw that pedal. I can't wait for people to make a comparison video between the MDD and the Demon Drive!

jamesnikki5 besides the long board adjustment I think it may be super close to the MDD
Agree! :)
What a great booth! Definitely the best one I've seen on TH-cam of this years show. Hopefully one day I can meet you guys at NAMM and maybe own a DW kit myself :)

Great drums ! i wish i could try your new pedal very soon.
Fun fact; the new Machined Direct Drive Pedals are also used commonly by chefs as a cheese grater.
Lol
Looks great! I play Gretsch and just converted to 9000 pedals and hardware. Awesome stuff.
If I ever have the chance to get out to California, I will most surely stop by for a tour
Please do. We welcome you!
So stoked for those direct drive pedals.
DW will be my next drum kit.
Man, I love DW drums. Wish I could afford a set lol
That black fade rainbow exotic is to die for
Sure love that PDP Maple Snare w/ Wood Hoops (along with everything else). Does anyone know the name John mentions at around 7:04 and who they are exactly?
I,am buying that pedal as soon as its available!!!

Those new pedals look siiiiiiiiiCk!
John Good is the Willy Wonka of drums. Great stuff guys!

Thank you. Superb video, as always. Could you update your PDP site with this new Pdp maple wood snare, I would like to see some more info about it.
New pedal looks amazing, with there be a longboard version of it?
Really a mind blower video. Wow. I love DW. You guys are the Cadillac! I just want to slam all those beautiful drums....nicely of course. That Queen snare....beautiful. Really curious about 15" mahogany snare. You guys set the bar. I'll take one of everything.
Great stuff you guys! Are the black nickel stands going to be available as a standard product or maybe it can be special order?
Will there be any plans to implement some of the new pedal designs to the other lines of pedals?
the pdp camp isn't on the website… well at least I couldn't find it
This will obviously be a little late but in the video Rich mentions that the MDD is the first direct drive pedal DW has offered, wouldn't the PDP BOA technically be the first as it was manufactured by DW?
Nick Mason's drum looks a lot like my Ebony Stain Birdseye kit! How different is grey dye compared to ebony stain?
Are you guys planning to come out with a 14x6.5 version of the true sonic snare? I really want one PLEASE say you will :)
when is the pedal going to be on sale? I WANT IT!...no wait...I NEED IT!!!!!!
jcm725 Hello,
the direct drive pedal will be out this summer.
dw drums YES!
Are there any guesses on when the new direct drive pedal will come out? And any idea on how much they'll cost?
Stephen Crosmer The pedal will be out this summer.
John I love the new pedal
That 9000 hardware in Black Nickel looks great! Is it possible to custom order those? Or were they strictly just made for this kit at NAMM?
It is readily averrable for our custom drums. www.dwdrums.com/drums/collectors/featsopts/hardware.asp
Thanks for the upload!
I want to meet john good and get a dw drum set for me to play on and record in the future
That big drum set with the paiste cymbals is for sale for 30,000 dollars
this was a very educational video that I loved and learned whet I should buy
whens the 5000 series stands coming out?
***** Thank you for asking. It will be a rolling change that will be completed mid-march
but where can I buy those double bass pedals and how much?
I will get those pedals!
John loves his drums.. like me,,
Is poplar coming back into the mix?
Hi joshua corbett Poplar has been in the mix for while now. :) dwdrums.com/drums/classics/shells.asp
Interesting how he uses different types of wood in the designs. Probably not necessary but nice. 24 karat gold lugs? crazy..
Why did'nt Nick Mason take Number 1 as well?
Trick is the way to go.
What I wouldn't do for that kit at 4:14 WOW
They could actually send me the kit to do a TH-cam review on. 😏
Well, I know where my tax returns are going..........That pedal is TOO SWEET. Its about time D.W.
Does anyone else hear what sounds like jp bouvet's voice in the video?
Love the drums..... But that new direct drive pedal looks like an Axis or TRICK. If I'm paying good money for a DW pedal, I want the iconic look of a DW pedal. I'm sure it functions beautifully.
I want Dave grohl's drums so bad!!!
drooling...
great video but Gibraltar beat you to the post with the gauge settings and beater weights. other than that the other stuff is cool
That pedal looks innovative, but seems to be marketed towards the metal genre..
It would've been nice if Dw came out with a simple 5000 direct drive pedal.. Too bad :(

I favor Ludwigs for sound, but you can't beat DW hardware and innovation.
Great booth as always, but bass drum claws on wood hoops. Hmm someone has been studying someone lol.
I think its now time to switch to DW... :)
Yes, but your drums are to expensive. I have a set of premier. They sound great. Before,I had a set if Ludwig.
Hi Daniel,
Yes we make custom drums but we also offer amazing drums and kits in every price range as well.
"Good-ies" lol
Your drums are amazing. ..Your pedal look like an axis drum pedal. :-(
we have a super 32nd over a 16th over a ludwig wrapped in tama then we chewed up and spit out a shell that is amazing! you cant afford half the shit we sell... we can just make up whatever the fuck we want and you will buy it muhahahaha!!
Looks great. It's a shame that a common drummer can't afford it.
