But I guess that would make the system to complicated(perhaps an idea for a future version). For $40 this is something I would be interested in, but with the sellers tax doubling the price this will only be for me if it is launched in the European stores.
nah, if the waste was those wet rubbish the compactor will be stained with rubbish liquid and smell. it will become more troublesome to wash it and potentially breeding ground for insects

Janimi unlike other trash cans that takes 4 D battery....this is rechargeable.....which is good because it probably uses more power....and if you want to keep it plug in that's OK too...
This would be perfect for a Cat Litter Box. Do they plan a design one for those? Of course, they would only seal when the button is pushed, as not to seal up any cats.
Jonathan Koay I know your comment is sent a while ago, but have you tried turning it off before placing it in the cabinet and then turning it on while it’s already under the sink? It might fool the sensor to believe that there is nothing over it.

I just got it after seeing this video a few days ago. I expected it to be smaller inside because of the huge plastic frame on top, but it was a fairly comfortable size for me. It's really convenient. I still wish they had for example a taller one that could take both the old cartridge and maybe even a extended cartridge. I hope it catches on. I also feel like such a piece of shit because most of my friends live a simple life meanwhile I'm here optimizing my trash.

Is it possible to change those plastic bags with transparent color and replace them manually as in the case of Italy based on different locations, for Germany it wouldn't be a problem.,
the light inside is uv in order to kill bacteria and smells (rumors say). as for the prices... maybe it's better that you don't mention them at all because they are nowhere near to what your audience (us) can actually buy them for. the web price for this bin is 80 euros + shipping + the import taxes. so.. it's actually near 110-120 euros for that bin which is crazy. i don't understand how Xiaomi Youpin store sells it for 39 euros and gearbest, banggood, aliexpress... sell them for 80.

Short review: 1 it’s very pretty 2 the sensor works very well 3 pretty amazing when you see it change the bag the first time - wow effect for friends 4 not suitable for food - it doesn’t seal 5 the battery has lowish capacity- it gets used up quickly and then you have to recharge every couple weeks. That’s a meh
I counted the bags that came with it.....15 bags! Also I ordered a box from Gearbest 6 weeks ago and they still haven't shipped them. BE SURE TO ORDER A COUPLE OF BOXES BECAUSE you never know how long you will have to wait..... especially with some companies.

So I step on cans....recycle the plastic bottles, and use rubber bands tie anything that would expand when tossed into it like rolled up grocery bags.....etc etc....so i can usually make a cartridge last a month....or more.
Everything is good, One only problem is creating waste plastic with replacement , Xiaomi should plan for recycling or collecting the plastic caps (which contains trash backs) from the customers for reuse or recycle.
Next up, automatically sorting trashcan (plastic batteries aso) that incinerates the incineration trash and produce electricity to your Tesla (Gotway or the real, your pick) and the rest is teleported to the dump automatically. THAT i would buy for 40$ :-)

Basically if someone goes near by it it will open automatically 😂 LoL... If a toddler is playing near it than it would open so that the baby goes inside and it will automatically detect overload and the baby would be packed inside the bag as a trash 😳

(while there were 4 or 5 other seller's asking for from $98 to $159.....and no they were not gold. So it does pay to go thru all first.
