    Really enjoyed the ten 365 units Scotrail acquired for their "holiday", 2018 was excellent riding around on em between Glasgow Qst - Edinburgh, Stirling, and Dunblane. Interestingly I learned that during a placement at the time that their timings were so similar to the turbostars they just used 365s on their paths rather than generate entirely new ones. You could also use 1st Class on the latter two routes mentioned above as they were blessed with "declassification".

    Ive travelled Class 465 from London Charing Cross to Kent and drop off at Longfield in 2000s. Very simliar internal of Class 321 when 321s were entering services in late 1990s at Liverpool Street. This 465 was quiet and smooth than Class 315s (Liverpool Street) in late 1990s & 317s (LTS / C2C only, not WAGN). Also I catch Class 165 from Paddington to Windsor via changing trains at Southall. That Class 165 using own engine, like the buses.

    The 466s haven’t got accessible areas because there is no point because of how small the unit is so therefore having no point to put the areas in due to the little seats anyways

    • @MaverickHunterDaniel
      @MaverickHunterDaniel  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      1. There are 4 trains in the UK that are smaller than the 466. The 139, Pacers, 150 and the 153. All of these trains have a dedicated wheelchair area where there are folding seats to allow a wheelchair to ride in.
      2. No point?! Equality Act 2010 says hello: www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2010/15/part/12/chapter/3
      and 3. If you're talking about size of the unit overall, the body of the 466 pretty much is the same as the 465, which has said wheelchair area. A few tweaks here and there and I feel like there would've been plenty of space to add one.

    No 165s and 166s in this video? I'm very disappointed, how dare you not include those diesel Networkers!
    Jk 😂😂😂. The electric Networkers are amazing (especially the 365) and one of my fav British trains alongside the Hitachi AT300 and the Electrostar. 465 Hitachis are also good, and I can even remember, when I was a child (about 6 or 7 years old) going on some with Brush GTO motors! (All now replaced with Hitachi IGBT VVVF as you know).
    Shame Great Northern withdrew their 365s. The 387s (the train that replaced the 365s) could have instead been used to replace Southern's 313s and 455s. The 365s are rather young and replacement was not necessary.
    The class 313 and 455 are both nice trains (haven't been on a Southern 313 yet but I remember going on some Silverlink ones and I quite liked their sound) but starting to get a bit old imo, and in need of a replacement. The 387 could have been the perfect replacement.

    You're just wrong. 365s accelerate MUCH quicker than 465s. 50-52 seconds to 60 for a 365 and 58-60 for a 465/9, and 70 for a 465 BREL. Looks like you didn't look at the figures...

    • @MaverickHunterDaniel
      @MaverickHunterDaniel  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This is one of those situations where I can't wholly blame you for saying that that due to conflicting sources. RailforumsUK and Wikipedia say the 365's max. accelaration rate is 0.65m/s^2 whilst Eversholt rail's page which I only accessed via the Wayback Machine says it's 0.81m/s^2. Comparing the graphs there too give results closer to the 55-60 seconds to 60 than 50 seconds too.
      I'll accept the BREL ones being a bit weaker in terms of accelaration too, though not seeing a 365 accelarate anywhere near as quickly as it's maximum didn't help either. Again, no blame but when presented with conflicting specs like this, an average between the two seems to make the most amount of sense.

    • @Solomon_C

      @@MaverickHunterDaniel th-cam.com/video/i6Ta4seRYu8/w-d-xo.html - it gets well under 40 seconds to 50mph here. This is the fastest a 365 can accelerate.

    • @Solomon_C
      @Solomon_C 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@MaverickHunterDaniel I have looked at the railway performance society archives and spoken to people - upon applying full power from Stevenage, a 365 can just about exceed 70mph by Langley junction, getting there in around 70 seconds.
      A 465/9 (the fastest 465s) take well over 70 seconds to get to 70mph. It's all thanks to the 365 being under AC power.

    • @Solomon_C
      @Solomon_C 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@MaverickHunterDaniel If you're wondering how the 365s compare to modern units, they hold up well.
      The fastest Stevenage- Knebworth passing time for the 365 is 2:18 (full power from Stevenage allows it to pass Knebworth in around 2:20). They are very near 100 by this point (someone's took GPS measurements and found that they can get up to 91-93 AND stop at Knebworth). A 700 is practically the same though it saves 5 seconds passing Langley Junction - a 700 is a bit quicker from 0-30 but that's about it. The Eversholt graph is too pessimistic. In reality 365s were much faster than it said.

    • @Solomon_C
      @Solomon_C 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@MaverickHunterDaniel Finally, I'll say that a 465/9 takes around 100-110 seconds to get to its top speed of 75 mph on a flat track. In 100-110 seconds a 365 can well exceed 85mph and even hit 90mph on a flat track. I've been talking to people who used GPS on them and looked at the archives - trust me.
