Great run. looks like a lot of fun to run duo. 4:40 is why I wish we had a pistol whip feature. seems like a waste to shoot at that range. Personally I jet in with my Swift/Stam Jet and get WAY high, basically not loading properly high, and then sky dive in. I can make up the horizontal distance with the grapple/Galeclaw so i just need to be high enough to not get beamed. quick tip, the beams track left and right quick, but not up and down, so avoid by holding ascend rather than swerving. it looks like you two were pretty short on damage. I would suggest going in with 3 Vanguard/Stronghold pals minimum, with them being Gobfin ideally. For weapons I'm still using the Legendary AR as its got really good accuracy, range and the ability to headshot for more damage. I use it over the pump because of the range advantage. plus I can just get ammo from the vendor and I'm cheap. I looted a Nade +2 and am considering using it instead, but the oil cost has me debating... So long as your wearing plasteel armor the turrets hit like a wet noodle. I don't even bother shutting them off and opt for just taking cover on the syndacte and pals. the ones you have to watch out for are the "Elites" like the one at 4:50; those rocket launchers hit like a truck and that guy specifically always catches me off guard. For loot stuff, the Oil rig is on a 32 minute timer, if you stay past that mark the stuff you killed earlier on will all reset. There will only ever be 1 big chest (9:00), but there are a ton of little purple ones all over. The big chest has all the weapon schematics, including 2 exclusive weapons (one of which you got at 9:50) and the +4 versions of the rest, however expect to grind as the +4s are at
I usually go in very high; I just didn't get it this time. And honestly, I wanted to show what happens if you don't get high enough lol We really should have put more thought into who we took with us and Donk literally said that we needed Gobfins as soon as we finished it LMAO I somehow haven't managed to get many of the good weapon schematics no matter how many times we grind for them. VERY frustrated with it. I really appreciate the info about the rig, I have only done it a couple times and only watched one or two videos so that it was a little bit of a surprise. Knowing the timing and chest info is really useful!
@@AzaleahGames I'm to the point with it now where I have to make a choice about how I want to play moving forward. I have most of the stuff short of the +4s but at less than 1% they are going to take weeks to get. There are some manipulations you can do, loot rolls when you *open* the chest, but I'm not sure I'm ready to take that leap.
@@bobnewkirk7003 I figure that what boils down to save-scumming is about the only way I'll get some of the legendary schematics, so I'm willing to do so. Otherwise it'd take forever to get them.
My average oil rig run is about 2-3mins. I fly in on Jetragon dodging the lasers & then use a fast Dazemu I bred to run around picking up the chests & dodging fire as much as possible & then using a pal to teleport back to base once finished & then wait another 30mins for the next run & repeat
@@AzaleahGames also another tip.. I use the Dazemu because it’s small enough to fit inside the containers to grab the chests… however.. you don’t even need to go inside as you can very easily grab the chests through the walls of the containers making a drive by (run by) grab & go very quick & easy so you don’t even have to get off the mount for most of the run 👍🏼
@SparkyMTB that sounds right up my alley. My favorite way to move around my 3 base setup is on my rayhound. I use stations, hatch eggs, use storage, etc, all while still on him 😆
The Jetragon survives if you fly super low and as soon as the laser starts to target you immediately start flying up and don’t stop sure you’ll be high above the oil rig but you can fall and pull out the glider just before u hit it
I realized pretty quickly that a rocket launcher comes in extremely handy, especially against the crushers (minigun guys). Before this update I already farmed for legendary schematics so my loadout is shotgun, assault rifle/gattling gun, rocket launcher, grapple gun. Also, I have, at least a couple times, been shot down by lasers when riding Jetragon even without actually flying.
@foxbird123 I'm going insane trying to get even a good schematic at this point. The only legendary we have is the pump shotty. No amount of grinding has helped. I almost left my grappling gun at home for this fight, but I thought it might be handy to get around there? 😆 Next time, it stays at home.
@@AzaleahGames Yeah it took me a good amount of time to get them, my luck in general is horrible. I like to use the grapple gun launch (just before you hit the surface of what you're grappling to, disengage the grapple and turn your back so you don't latch onto the surface and you keep your momentum) to either get somewhere quickly or get from a bottom level to a higher level easier.
@affablesage9582 not sure what you're referring to. What's the jiggling down the sights mean? Not even sure if it was me, but I do lots of stuff I couldn't name so it might be me? Lol
@affablesage9582 okay, asked donk, and apparently, he does it to practice aiming down sights for other games. One specifically is 7dtd, where there are perks of increased damage if aiming down the sight, and in that game, you use stamina to aim, so he practices in palworld (I had no idea he did that lol)

I noticed when she's fighting, she sort of rapidly goes in and out of aiming down sights. Is that some sort of technique I'm not aware of?

That's a great way to do it! I hadn't thought about a dazemu or dojen. Pretty sure our next run will include those!
