We were scheduled for a 4 day cruise on the Conquest In Nov. Yes, it was cancelled. So, have applied for and granted vacation, and booking and paying for our cruise and flights and hotels, I searched for another cruise in same time frame and same port. I found a cruise, 6 days on the Horizon. Cost $1000.00 more and lost $500.00 on board credit. No excursions.

I was on the Carnival Magic for that cruise you are talking about. The delay in disembarking was past 2 o'clock so all excursions were already missed.
Then when it did start we were told random people would be taken from the line to have a "Covid breath test" and I was one of them. Well it wasn't a breath test it was a swab in the nose to the back of your head. The small testing room was very crowded. Some people in the testing line looked at the set up, balked, and went back to the elevator to stay on board.
When off the ship we were restricted to just the pier area shops. About a 2 acres of the usual t-shirts and knick knack shops with the usual liquor, perfume, and jewelry gauntlet at the beginning/end. At least there were some free wifi spots.

First off......GET VACCINATED FOR PETES SAKE!!!!...as far as I am concerned it is way too early to cruise I mean all these problems with the cruise industry is kinda normal. The tourism industry needs to prepare and put in place security measures beit the hotels, restaurant and especially the cruising industry. I do not plan to cruise before at least spring 2022.

Testing on an island or before cruise in Port is a huge problem. Since they are using rapid antigen tests. Which have high degree of false positive. And there's no way to retest there. So this island's false positive result will give you huge problem down the road.

There are tests at the port coming at Carnival. It's called mobile testing, but it does say the tests are before the cruise. See the Have Fun, Be Safe page at Carnival. Seems like departing passengers should also be able to get the mobile testing at the port, especially those who have to have a negative test for the trip home. :) Maybe soon!

My November 11th cruise on Carnival Ecstasy got canceled yesterday. This is our 5th cruise canceled since April 2020 when Covid started. We are totally bummed. I watched John Heald yesterday and heard it. We have a cruise on Carnival in January we will see if it goes. Then we have one out of London England Sept 2022. We are so ready to get back to sailing. We are looking at just booking a NCL cruise because no masks required, everyone has to be vaccinated, no exceptions, and they are testing at the port for everyone.

My Disney Sept 26-Oct 1 from San Diego to Cabo, MX cruise was cancelled. Getting a refund took many on-hold hours waiting for a customer service person. I finally got someone at 5:30 am PST; they opened at 8 am EST (5 am PST) after being on hold for at least five hours off and on yesterday. They didn't allow us to just request a refund instead of a credit on-line. Our reservations were totally gone from our Disney account so we couldn't even see them anymore.

If you are not vaccinated…I think you need to rethink the cruising subject right now, we have to be ready for testing and mask and distance and follow up everyday with new updates. Either we do this or we won’t be cruising, my humble opinion…Ports want to protect their people …we have to respect that…love the Days at sea! Plenty to do!

With the mixed dose she isn’t considered vaccinated on MSC cruises or any other cruise line. Have you heard anything about any changers pending this policy, whereby mixed doses will be recognized like it is in Canada…we may have to unfortunately cancel.

48 hour testing window infers only the Rapid Antigen Test … absent an expensive up-charge for expedited handling, you’re gambling with a PCR test being processed within 48 hours. Is that correct, Don - are those narrowing their window to 48 hours accepting the Rapid Antigen test as sufficient?
