On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.

That's probably true for a guns only fight, not a Fox-2 fight.
thats usually how gunfights go with the f-16. fox-2s change everything. otherwise modern jets like the f22 would have also been built to be 2 circle fighters

Toxic did a pretty good job other than overshooting twice in the first fight. Had some impressive moves. Should have gunned you down a couple times in that one. He's got some skills but he shouldn't have ever lost to you once he forced you into the 1 circle. Still has a bit to learn. Great video.

What's crazy is that first fight, he just goes to Idle,then CRUSHES a Flanker in the One Circle in a STOMP- I LOVE these vids where GS is in the enemy's den, and then still- beats them up at what they do best. So he's out-two circled the Viper in other planes like the tomcat and Fulcrum , has out-maneuvered and shanked the Raptor in the Flanker and Cobra/post-stall out-AOA'd it to a fast iR kill(longshot did this too) , he'- can't remember if he's fought the R_37 hypersonic missiles with phoenixes before... Just need him to outmanuever Felons now lol
SO interesting, even in the enemy's specialty- it doesn't mean they're the only ones who can do it - when he says the other guy can still compete - they still can, amazingly ... .- you can do it too -even to the guy who's best at it - GS just proved that lol...
(Unless it's that supermanueverability 120 degree AOA post-stall Cobra aerodynamics, then you can't quite match them- but you can still survive)

The F-16 is so small compared to the flanker! In that first fight he kept missing you but man easy to saw the wing off something thing the size of a building!

Dude, i dont know HOW you do it, but everytime, fr everytime i peak into your channel to watch you for some days and then be off again etc, you upload exactly what i want to watch fighting against each other
He was doing differential thrust in the 3rd round too at least. When you did the first gun burst that took off his nose, I thought it had taken out his left engine at first, but a second later he put burner back on to both engines. I've been having fun getting my arse blown up trying to learn to fly the F-16 recently. For laughs, I put on that BVR mission from a few days ago and I tried to see if I could survive long enough to merge and kill the MiG-29 with the AIM-9X. Let's just say that of the 3 times I tried that... I did not do well. I managed to get myself to the merge (sort of) then I realized I actually don't have the first clue how to actually manuever and basically ate the first shot the MiG fired from that point on XD. It was fun though. I think part of it is I really have no idea how to use the rudder, and I always pull too hard.
That first fight was sick...... well done....

The R-73 uses a traditional infrared seeker from what I understand. The AIM-9X uses an infrared imaging system. It's a lot easier to tell plane from flare if your seeker system can tell you more than the brightness of one 'pixel'!

1st round the Flanker should have done a Cobra to avoid overshoot. But easier said than done in heat of battle

To be honest, all russian fighters including Su-27 look weird to me comparing with western counterparts.
@@WNrHuot idk in terms of looks I really prefer the russian desgins - especially the look of the Su57 is so sattisfying to me... the only western jet that kinda comes close is the YF23 desgin

Do you think there would be any different results in the first turn if you use the 9X in Bore instead of Slave?
It would give you close to an extra 30° of launch angle and near instant tone. You wouldn't have to wait for the radar to travel to the target, and gain lock. Just uncage and go.

Interesting seeing how the F-16 fares in a High off-boresight/HOBS environment. I'd expect to see 2-cirlce optimized fighters like the F-16 struggle in a HOBS fight; as opposed to aircraft with better High-Aspect performance, like the Hornet or Flanker. While the F-16 seems to be operating at somewhat of a disadvantage, it still clearly is a capable aircraft in that scenario.

Would love to see you fly the F 35 to show how capable it actually is. It's not designed with WVR as a priority but my understanding is it can hold its own with a pilot who knows the aircraft. Also, maybe when DCS simulates the magic helmet you could pull some little tricks by being able to maintain visual even when the bandit is under your seat in certain one circle situations?
The Flanker is so much bigger than the Viper that in the first kill it looked like the Viper was super far away 😂 I wonder how the initial prototype Viper (with extra wing area) would do vs the Flanker

would love to take a look at tacview to see how all these maneuvers look relative to the ground. The way two planes move relatively still to each other makes it hard to follow how certain maneuvers are executed

In these fights with only 2 IR missiles I think shooting after the 1st turn is a waste. Its defended successfully most of the time. Better to save the missile for a better shot. Also it makes sense to hold on to one missile so the other fighter can't go to the rate fight after the deck transition.
Would like to see how an F16 Vista would fair against a Sukhoi 27.
