Thanks a lot for this video. After a major storm this weekend in southern New-Brunswick (Winter is brutal this year!), I realized that the auger cable on my new-to-me 1994 YS624 was stuck and the auger was constantly turning. After a bit of work, I was able to fix it, but while working on it, I noticed that at least one of the belts need to be replaced. This is the only video I found that clearly shows how to replace the belts. I'll make sure to add this video to my bookmarks for future reference.
Out of curiosity, how much $ was that OEM belt?

I appreciate the comments!! The belt was $50 CAD

The belts are Mitsuboshi LB33 for the auger and LA35 for the drive and cost about 25€ each on online belt supplier.
No idea where to get them in US/Canada.

Shame with the unhappy ending. I am seriously hoping the machine lived to fight another day. I have TWO of those, and working on a repair video for the gear system.

I have a YS828 Ive been trying to find the rubber friction disc for here in the USA and its discontinued. It looks like the same disc as that machine. Are they available in Canada? Im also in need of a carb

Unfortunately, most parts here in Canada are the same > discontinued. It's too bad because they are great machines

Are these better than Honda snowblower? I live in North America (United States) and these Yamaha snowblowers can be found here, but are older. I like the design of these Yamaha units but I worry about finding parts vs Honda. It looks like Yamaha still makes snowblowers, but they are only sold in Canada. I get Canada gets more snow, but you would think Yamaha would sell snowblowers in the Northern States where lots of snow is common, especially since 50% of Canadians live in a latitude lower than North Dakota and other Northern States the border Canada.

Yamaha makes a great product. The one in the video and similar models using the same engine has issues with the carb leaking. The engine vibration wears the carb needle. I have an older Honda HS 90 and I like it too. The issue with mine is parts availability due to its age. In my opinion, buy one that you can find parts for in your area and/or a dealership you trust that can help you if you run into any issues. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!

Wonder if this is similar to Honda track replace belt. Nobody has videos on it

As a matter of fact, I have an older Honda HS 70 on tracks. If I can make the time, I'll make a video of the auger belt replacement. 👍Thank you for the suggestion 🙏

By chance would you know about finding any used parts for this Yamaha ys624w snow blower machine especially an air canister or would you have an idea for me converting an aftermarket air canister to work for this machine. Thank you

Unfortunately, I don't know of a particular place that sells used snowblower parts. I'm sure there. I'll do some digging and if I find anything, I'll be sure to get back to you
