here are the rules for the tournament:
For those who haven't fished with us before, here's a recap of what we do. It is a lures only catch and release format where you target a two fish combination of redfish, trout, or flounder. That doesn't mean bring in 2 reds - it means bring in 1 red and 1 trout, 1 red 1 flounder, or 1 flounder and 1 trout. You have to have 2 different species.
The challenge is to catch 2 fish and a boat having 2 fish will always beat 1 fish even if it weighs more. In other words, a 7lb redfish doesn't beat a 3lb flounder/2lb trout combo.
We typically start at 5:30 and fish until dark and try to stay on a schedule of having a tournament every other week. You're going to see a good mix of guys fishing everything from jon boats to bay boats so don't feel like you are limited by your vessel. Anybody can win and you would be surprised at how many times two really small fish have won - with the short time to fish it's really anybody's game because it only takes 2 bites.
$25 per boat donation and winner takes all - if we have more than 7 boats then 2nd place gets their money back.

Yea man I actually look for a loud drag in my reels before I buy cause I just love that sound. Wish I could have gotten on one of those bigger reds on tournament day and my pockets would be very happy! 😂

I actually use cheap 20lb braid from amazon man, works great, and you get more for less so I change my line fairly often. The stuff I’ve been using is called reaction tackle. 1500 yards for like 40$

How do you feel about having an Evinrude motor?
Not very happy that they got bought out! Lol
But I do really love that motor, she has plenty power for my boat and is absolutely great on fuel! Maintenance and overall workings on it is not hard at all.
I bought A Carolina skiff with a 60 Evinrude in March of this year.A 2018 but new, it sat at the marina for 2 years. I’m in the middle of a fix with the boat dealer. I’m not happy with Evinrude’s outboards. When it runs, it runs well. Some transmitting fuel flow. I’m sorry I didn’t make the dealer change it out.
No fun at all!!! They definitely can be tricky. Sound like you might have an intermittent emm issue or one of your injectors are failing. I’ve had intermittent injectors with mine as well, runs great then just loses a tone of power randomly
When does the tournament start
This particular one has already passed but they do them fairly frequently on Wednesday nights. They change the location for each one. Always in the Jax area though. Look up “Wednesday night tournaments” on fb . They post all of there tournaments on that page.
