I can't say enough how much I am enjoying this trip through my own childhood. I've shared these videos with my brother, who has become paralyzed from the waist down due to an accident, and he is now inspired to dig out our old vehicles - about 50 - and give them the Marty Treatment! We enjoy your sense of humour also. Much like our own. Thank you for your inspiration and willingness to share the HOW in what you do.

09:00 - IIRC, 'Ergomatic' was the name given to this style of cab used across the Leyland truck range - including, AEC, Albion and some Scammels. It was intended to provide the drivers with better working conditions than those of the previous cab designs. Ergomatic was derived from ergonomics, a study of the working environment.

What a great restore...I just bought a small lot of Lesney vehicles and this model is part of that lot. Perfect timing, I think, as I can proceed with the makeover without worrying about any unforeseen issues, thanks to your video. The humor is, as usual, quite entertaining. Thanks for doing these. I have found a new hobby as a result.

When you said how much pressure the compressor developed I thought yes the model will be blown to bits so when it went flying I laughed louder than the bit you did after, looking for it. The phrase "You're only meant to blow the bloody doors off!" came to mind.

Hi friend. I´m Luis from Ecuador, S America. I´m 57 years old. Finding this matchbox cars video brought me to my childhood!
My brother and I had these Matchbox cars 40 years ago! We used to spend hours playing together. then my brother died and I kept those toys.
We used to make houses and cities with Lego blocks, and had a lot of fun!
I had a blue plastic Matchbox collectors case with I guess 80 cars in four plastic sky blue trays and maybe 30 cars outside that case.
Models that went from the 60´ oldest versions with iron strong axels for the wheels and modern ones from the 70´, "superfast" series with finer axels for the wheels like pins, that went faster but didn´t last for long.
When we went to another country, my mother gave the whole case and cars to my little cousins that of course didn´t kepp it in good conditions at all. It all was lost, but the case. And later, 20 years, my step mother gave the case to my youngest little brother for his toys, so at the end everything was lost.
When we lived in France they had this Majorette stuff, that didn´t stand the quality of Matchbox - Linsey - Made in England at all.
I had this exact same truck you are showing, it loocks just like mine was!!

There is something relaxing about watching your videos, it takes me into a nice zen mode. Your calming voice and the background music blend well with an interesting topic. Please keep them coming!

Your best bet to get that zamac to solder is to copper plate the area so the solder will adhere to the surfaces.

I just found one while on vacation that says Ergomatic Cab underneath and Leyland on cab. Missing windshield but wheels and axles are in good shape and all posts are connected. Going to work on a few new cars before I try to restore it. Recently got into this hobby and have learned so much from watching your videos. Thanks for the great work and sense of humor!

Wow Marty another excellent makeover! And yes I laughed out loud with the shot of the truck imbedded in your head! Another model I have from my collection.
    Cheers,
