I've been a long-time fan and subscriber. A little worried, Marty. We haven't heard from you in over 6 months. I hope you & your family are well. At this point, even a 1-minute "I'm OK" would be a relief. Best wishes to you & yours.
I had one just like that! Mom made me give up my Hot Wheels, Matchbox and other car collection at somewhere around 16 years old. At least I was able to pick out my recipient! I guess that collection was doomed from the start. Make if she had made me give the collection away, it would not have survived me being in the military and if left at home when I went to the military, Mom would have sold it bearing her garage sale days. You have refurbished quite a few toys that were in that collection. Those videos bring me back to my childhood. Thank you very much for reviving the memories!
I think that Marty's A.S.S. should get worldwide recognition. We should have wall-to-wall Marty's A.S.S. spread all over the place. Magazines, walls, and even on double-decker bus advertising placards! Hooray for Marty's A.S.S.!
I knew you would have had to jump from that moving bus with Kevin at the helm! 😁 KEVIN!!!!!!! Well, at least he's off the baking soda. Nasty habit that.
Therein lies the reason you and your channel are so successful - not only is your principle talent so amazing, you take the time and effort to enhance a video with intriguing effects and photography as well as a bit of humor - and you take your dedication far enough to make the necessary props (to wit Kevin's clever cap) that make those effects worthy of your style. Never could give you enough kudos for you production quality and standards......................
Thanks for the hat extra. I had just commented to the wife I was impressed you found a busman's hat to fit Kevin for the skit when of course you had made it from scratch. Well done.
Hi Marty, Very nice makeover of a classic bus. As for your sticker issue, back when I worked for a local trucking company, they used a spray bottle that had a couple teaspoons of liquid soap then the bottle was filled with tap water. I've seen the recommend mixture listed as 5% soap, 95% water, but you might want to experiment with what works best for you. They spray the soap water mixture on the door, allowing them to position the sticker. Once they had the sticker in position, they'd squeegee out the soap water mixture with an old windshield wiper (windscreen wiper? ) allowing the sticker to adhere to the door. Great job Marty on Kevin's hat, I sure hope your wife wasn't looking forward to using that bag on her next trip to the local market? Cheers, Rich S.
These models from the fifties have their own challenges versus your favourite golden years models, but you managed to overcome the hurdles. Of course Kevin is the star with his new driver hat. Brilliant as ever! ❤
Hi Marty, As a former Lesney employee, I can tell you that the company used hot caustic soda to remove paint from any spray shop mistakes. Also, they used to run a fleet of double decker buses to ferry staff to and from work. They were originally blue, with LESNEY on the side, under the lower windows. In the 80's they had them resprayed white with a swooping orange and brown stripe on the sides. It would be nice to see one of the models in the company logo.
The Axle Separation System gave me a good chuckle. When I replayed the film, I caught the "Toenail Clippings " storage. Marty, you are hilarious! And subtle.😂😂😂😂
I was glad to see you paint the interior of both pieces before you assembled it. I thought the other approach would have been a bit hokey, not up to typically 3M standards. Well done.
Nice Makeover Marty. If you're on a septic system like I am, don't por the caustic soda down the sink/drain as it will kill the bacteria that breaks down the human waste matter. It is best to empty the used caustic soda bath water into a bucket. Clean and rinse the container you used in that bucket to clean it. Pour the water contents in that bucket over any weeds around the yard. I'm now experimenting with a $35 sandblaster kit from supercheap Auto with a homemade sandblasting cabinet. Cheers Michael
Awesome as per usual. I agree with the other comment using windex. Works well. Try paint removal with oven cleaner as it won't harm the plastic. Super vidiography, love it! All the best from Canada. 😎
Hi Marty, it was very nice to se you again so soon. And it is also nice to se that Kevin has got a new job. Very good video Marty I really like them.👍👍
Beautiful! I was actually thinking you skipped the undercoat, and also that you could put clear on. So you have taught us well. I was hoping to see Kevin in the excavator makeover you did, so this was very satisfying.
Have to say, Kevin's bus definitely was "Puttin on the Ritz." Off-road tires with custom bead locker rims! Kids these days, puttin' rims on everything!
Great work, as always. The painting of the front grille was a nice touch. Your bus adventure with Kevin was one of your best bits ever -- you had me laughing out loud the whole time. Really magical and funny.
A two pence fare as a youngster and jump on and off when you wanted. Either sit on the long bench seats downstairs or the back seat upstairs, which always seemed to have more room!
Heyy Marty... nice episode as always... your little clips of 🐨 always keep improving and i enjoy them very much. Keep up the good work and Greetings to You and the Family from Germany!
Thanks for putting the ritz on this bus, Kevin, and finishing the hat (Soundheim would be proud!) God bless you, Julie and your family. Have fun with your toys!
Frank from Germany
The greatest cigarette packet design I've ever seen was for a Korean brand called, I kid you not, THIS PLUS. It featured a starry sky, a ship's wheel, a whale, and the motto THE SEA HATES A COWARD. I'm not a fan of smoking or cigarette promotion in general (being a lifelong asthmatic will do that), but I make an exception for a package design as brilliantly weird as that. :)
Hi Marty. I just want to offer my thanks for your great, interesting and entertaining videos. I’ve been going through a difficult time recently and have been off work. Your videos have helped to chill me out and reminisce about the Matchbox cars I used to have as a kid. Thanks bud and look after yourself.
Marty, I am a US follower. This vid featured the “Players Please” cig advert. I knew it sounded familiar and after some looking, found a pic taken on a family trip to Ireland in 1969. This pic was taken in Dublin and shows a “Players Please” advert on top of a building. The building was located at the corner of Abbey St. Lower and O’Connel St. Lower, two doors down from Mooney’s pub. 55 years later the pub is still there but the sign is gone. Go figure…. Thanks for the memories.
I have always enjoyed and learned from watching your tutorials and the restorations you do are fantastic. I like how you go through all the steps to do a restoration. I appreciate the work you put into each model. Thanks for sharing this.
There's a few wallabies breeding in Scotland. Confuses many a late night drunk. Love this one, it's fun seeing how they developed from the earliest ones.
Hope you're good Marty! Miss you, but appreciate your priorities.
I was just thinking of Marty.
We're all missing you, mate. Looking forward to your return, along with Kevin! The diecast resto scene just isn't the same without you.
Please return, you are terribly missed. Above all, please be well.
Agree... its been many months again... we get worried.
I think so too🥺, greetings from Germany
I totally agree, look forward to your future restoration videos Marty
Hoping Kevin isn't holding you hostage....
....missing your witty restorations.

Always a pleasure to watch your makeovers. Thanks for the additional hat making skills. Kevin looks grand in it🇺🇸
Got love Kevin!!!!

What?
Great job on the bus. Love the hat making time laps. Kevin looking dapper there.
Beautiful work as always and that spray booth liner was a veritable cornucopia of headlines!
Greetings from Nottingham, UK, home of Players cigarettes.
Kevin was definitely Puttin' on the Ritz!
I knew you would have had to jump from that moving bus with Kevin at the helm! 😁 KEVIN!!!!!!! Well, at least he's off the baking soda. Nasty habit that.
An extra thumbs up for Kevin's hat!!!

Thank you so much George! - That bought a tear to my eye! - I greatly appreciate your comment, it makes it all worth it, Marty.😀
great video. as usual Kevin steals the show... great!
He was rocking out, in his own little world. 😅
Yea, Kevins back !
It’s never just about the restoration, you always have another story going on. Making Kevin a bus man’s hat… from scratch… dude, you rock!
What a treat for a Sunday morning. I get to watch a MMM and have a cup of coffee before our usual breakfast out and shopping. Thanks Marty
The ending gave me quite a laugh! Thanks for that.
I do like these older models. I was seven years old when that bus was made. Memories. Good job on the resto. 😊
Thanks for the hat extra. I had just commented to the wife I was impressed you found a busman's hat to fit Kevin for the skit when of course you had made it from scratch. Well done.
Sunday morning, coffee and Marty's - perfection.
Always loved the iconic red Double Decker British Buses
Job well done. Entertaining as always and funny with Kevin being Kevin.🙂😀😃😄😂🤣

Kevin’s days as a freeloader are hopefully at an end.
The end segment was brilliant.

Axle Separation System.. LOL😂
Nice makeover. Kevin’s hat was impressive!

Nice restoration, details and paint job 👌 👍
Nice work on the London Bus, I'm guessing Kevin didn't take any Bus Route Training when he'd got himself the job.
Nice restoration 👍
Instant delight. So glad life has eased up to give you time to restore.
Another great video Marty! Love it when you post while I’m painting, give me such inspiration. Thanks again!
Nice to see you gave your hands and nails a little bit of care.
And nice work as ever of course !
Miss the old route masters the desk at the back where the conductor used to stand with pram storage behind them
A two pence fare as a youngster and jump on and off when you wanted. Either sit on the long bench seats downstairs or the back seat upstairs, which always seemed to have more room!
Those manly paws should not be afraid of a teeny weeny cobweb😅 So glad you're posting regularly again👍👍
Great show has ever Marty keep them coming

Marty spray Windex under your stickers and you can move them around until the Windex dries. I put boat numbers on like this.

fantastic restoration I absolutely loved this video! Cheers! ❤

Awesome restoration Marty😎
Another great make over. The older busses are one of my favorites.
I was, in fact, eating at the moment...
