I am a first time weaver and so I am trying to learn all that I can. The logcabin looks simple from what I can tell. Thank you so much for your tutorial.
Great video. I noticed that it was easier to follow with the heddle in the up position. I tied the heddle from front and back to make it stable while feeding the yarn through the eye and slots. Made it easy to keep the count of 5 in each eye. Thank you so much. I tried to read a pattern book but your video made the job easier for me since I'm such a visual person.
Hi thank you for your video, I am a newbie, what’s the name of the type of shuttle you were using? Where could I find one? I have no weaving shop near me, I have to buy it online. Thx
I am really struggling to get to grips with the log cabin, I am convinced I am following the instructions correctly but it's not looking right ..Any help would be really appreciated
When are you changing sheds? Up black, down white, or up white and down black? It is hard to see..especially when you are changing blocks. Thanks! Great videos. Please do more. I also saw your video on how to use left over bits of weaving for a pillow. That was also clearly demonstrated. It looks like you have a floor loom also. How did you get interested in a rigid heddle?
Oh boy! It is quite clear...sorta. I might watch the video a few more times to do it doubled but it might not hurt to do it with single strands. There is always a way, right?
The warp looked a little too short to make a really good warm winter scarf, but the pattern was very nicely done. Then again, I suppose its not winter right now where you are. Here in Wisconsin we are getting our first (and way late in the year for a first) measurable snowfall for this winter. Anyway, I enjoyed watching.
+curmudgeon66 Thanks Andy glad you enjoyed it, I am hoping any beginner weaver finds it easy to understand. We are having a heat wave here at the moment, I much prefer the cooler weather.
Beautiful work as always, Tess! I had missed this one. Is that an Ashford 48"? (I love their Maori-esque reed hooks!) You are a great teacher--I so appreciate your sharing. Thanks again.
Using this tutorial, I made a log cabin scarf as my second-ever weaving project. Your instructions made it easy to do!
