    No one else thought to tell me that my stripey boye would lose his stripes because he wasn't variegated heavily enough. Thank you! I'll still love him just the same but I'll have to get a white form one as well.

      No worries. Yes unfortunately they can revert back to the normal variety 😔

    Hey I love your vids. Can we see a video about kalanchoe varieties? I haven’t had great luck with them. Also a video about anything to do for autumn. Should we be feeding etc? I should probably mention I’m in Brisbane and it’s still pretty warm here

    Is it possible to leaf propagate bear paws?

    • @rachel3401
      @rachel3401 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's possible, but the chances of success are a lot lower (as far as I'm aware)

    • @mickssucculents
      @mickssucculents  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes it can be done, but I find cuttings are easier and faster :)

    Hi great vid as per usual 😊. Question, Ive heard these do really well in the ground, have you had this experience?
    Ive had no luck in with them here in Newcastle NSW. I have a really high success rate with my collection but these cuties drag my GPA down 😐😐🤣🤣

    • @mickssucculents
      @mickssucculents  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Georgia, thank you for your kind words 🙂🙏
      To be honest I've never tried growing them in the ground. Give it a try and see how they go. No harm in trying 🙂 I do know they can struggle a bit in high humid areas. They tend to pick up black spot a bit.

    • @mickssucculents
      @mickssucculents  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can, but they take ages. We don't bother and just taking cuttings of them :)

    All my leavesa are falling down? Are there chances it will grow back?

    • @mickssucculents
      @mickssucculents  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, usually leaf drop is a sign of root rot. I would take the plant out of the pot, allow the root system to air dry and plant again in a dry mix and see how it goes.

  • @matildasmom2876

    Hi, I recently purchased a small pot of this plant but noticed that most of the leaves do not have the reddish brown tips. Is there something I can do to bring out the coloured tips or do they come out when it gets older? And how often do you water them?

    • @mickssucculents
      @mickssucculents  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, give them more sunlight, less water and a low nitrogen fertiliser and they will stress a bit and show off those tips. They can also naturally show them off when they are dormant in Summer. Now that they are coming into Autumn (growing season), they can lose their tips as they focus on growth. Hope that helps :)

    I think my bearpaw might be a hybrid since it has longer stems and isn't as rounded.
    I'm trying to figure out how to get mine healthy cause the paws look kind of deflated :C

    • @mickssucculents
      @mickssucculents  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Barra, it sounds like they may need to be watered more and possibly more light given to them.

  • @jy2569
    @jy2569 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    When you say “let them callus” do you mean to just leave them to sit out and then plant them?

    • @mickssucculents
      @mickssucculents  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, yes it's just so the end can dry to prevent rotting 🙂👍

    Hey. I have had my bear paw for 4 months and it’s growing but the new growth doesn’t have the finger like tips. It’s just growing round, like a balloon. I have it in a southeastern facing window. What can I do to make the tips grow or do they normally do that?

    • @mickssucculents
      @mickssucculents  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Michael, it may be lacking sunlight, which is causing that. Try increasing the amount of sun it gets and see if that improves it :)

  • @SmokeySarah1
    @SmokeySarah1 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    My bear paw is not growing as bushy as yours has. It’s growing up rather than out and has a lot of new leaves, but still growing up. It’s in a 2.5” pot, should I increase the pot size to help it grow out or take some cuttings?

    • @mickssucculents
      @mickssucculents  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Sarah, I would give them a small trim and wait for Autumn to pot it up, as they grow in the cooler months. The trim should help encourage them to go bushy :)

      May I ask what happens at the main plant where the stem was snipped? Does a new stem or leaf grow from there?
