I like the photos without air brushing more because she doesn’t look plastic.
I think that’s the point. She looks great as is. All the extra airbrushing to try and look fake, plastic, and unrealistic is not necessary.
Sorry I don't think she looks great at all. I know where everyone is coming from. Like aging naturally. Okay. I get it, but when you're used to seeing her look, a certain way and she's always on these talk shows and on TH-cam talking about. "Oh, my beauty products can do this and that" while being heavily filtered while she's talking about these products and profiting off the insecurities of the audience she's selling to only to look like THIS😅 Probably worse than the women she's defrauding for goodness sakes! I'm sorry, no, she doesn't look great. She looks awful and she knows she does. That's why she photoshops.

I would say it’s a blessing to have a long, full life. However, getting old doesn’t necessarily have to be part of that. Getting old is not the blessing. Things breaking down in your body is about as much of a blessing as things breaking down in your house or your car. I told my boyfriend let’s not grow old together, there’s nothing romantic about that. Let’s live a long time together and keep each other young.

You can clearly see, if you zoom in, she has wrinkles around her eyes and mouth in the stiils from the videos. But no wrinkles in the Instagram photos. It’s definitely photoshopped. I’m about to turn 53 and look much younger but I’ve never had any plastic surgery and have more wrinkles around the eyes when I smile. Sad when people try so hard not to be themselves. She also clearly dyes her hair.
Jlo had her time. No one stays young and attractive forever. Let it go n be rich

Those filtered photos are just as filtered as every other instagram girl that is in her 20s. Facetuning pimples away, adding dramatic light and snatching their waists.
Are older woman just supposed to post Getty images or unflattering photos so they don’t risk discourse of people saying they’re trying to cosplay their younger selves?
Not saying I have much sympathy for the kardashians or jlo, but I do empathize with every other 50+ year old women that wants to look good or just looks good period. I don’t want them to see comments basically patronizing other women their age saying to sit home and knit and make peace that their time of ‘enjoying their beauty’ is over.

People enjoy getting glammed up to events no matter their age. And they FaceTune their pics because like the rest of the population are self conscious of their looks, whether it be because of wrinkles, acne, or not having a "snatch waist" ect. all stems from insecurity that can affect anyone at any stage in life.

Same! I just don't wear much makeup anymore like I did when I was younger. A little mascara and fill in my brows and I'm good to go. All that foundation just settles into fine lines and wrinkles which I'm blessed to not have many❤
I think people seem to believe that women should feel confident in their older age out of nowhere. Like we are all supposed to turn 50 and just be like.. oh yea I don’t care what people are going to say even though I’ve been socialized to care about getting older for half a century. Trying to be a detective for people doing something like this when we can clearly see she still looks good in the vogue videos.. just more aged.. does nothing to help the stigmas. All it does is make this woman MORE self aware and many other women self aware that people literally care WAY too much.

Ok, so I just looked up the interviews in their full context bc I remember Ashanti saying she felt some kind of way.. She said that she was mad she had to give up the song SHE WROTE ("I'm Real") WITH backing vocals to Jlo. Christina claims she wrote "Play" for Jlo at age 19 and was only given a a partial writing credit on the track.
Jlo doesn't seem like a classy business women, imo. Learning that she turned up these women's vocals over her own (or at least that's what a lot of us on Tiktok hear when we listen) is..unseemly. I never knew that Ashanti & Christina WROTE those songs; a lot of ppl didn't know. But if you want to support someone who who doesn't give writer's credit, go ahead.🤷♀️

It is confronting when you start to age and the wrinkles become more defined in your 50’s but there is no escaping it. I don’t often compare myself to photos of me in my 30’s or 40’s because I can see how I’ve aged and I don’t look like that anymore. Having said that, I’m grateful to still be alive and blessed to have lived a full life. It is very freeing to be able to accept your older self and the way you look.
