Never use an angle grinder to buff a vehicle, they spin way to fast and you will cut through the clear coat in an instant. Buffers look like angle grinders but spin much slower
19:52 is the face of a man that knows no matter if he wins all the actual races in the battle, he will have always lost to Marty’s devastating premeditated literal CD burn.
For the license plate I prepose: MCMDGT - The Mighty Car Mods Midget - Comboing off the M in Mods as a substitute for the M in Midget. 2 for 1 M. Great series guys. Been watching since the Driveway Days.
V-belts are universal, just walk into the parts store and buy one the same length, the part number printed on the belt tells the length, or it's easy enough just to match a new one up to the old one.
I used to have a JDM jzx110 mark 2 that I imported and had for years. Every time I turned it on it was the exact same voice recording telling me card not inserted. I loved that and hearing it in this video brought back some memories!
A couple of days before your first midget episode I had one come to live in my garage for the next couple of years until it’s able to be placed on historic rego. It’s the father in-laws and is apparently the first midget imported and complied in Australia. Asked him a bit more about it and it turns out he used to import and comply them for years. If you guys run into any issues let me know and I’m happy to fire some questions his way on your behalf.
You should match the bumpers, headlight bezels and fog light covers with the goldish/brass of the rims. That would make the midget look complete and possibly show us the process in getting it matched other than rattlecan! FYI I bought one of your MCM collector edition Books with your guys’ signature. I was in the Afghanistan war on terrorism for three tours and this is my favorite book in my collection. Much love and support from the USA!
i think the cable ties in the back could have been used as tie down points for nets, having them big keeps things adjustable and easy to use. it didnt look like there were many/any small hook points, nets usually have pretty small hooks. just a thought.
I think the back" foggies" are meant to look forward, try turning them around. I love this Midgets, every video you are making on this makes my day, good look for the final battle!
i was looking at those too, It feels like one might be able to just loosen them to twist them back forward. or completely take them off and put them back on backwards. It might looks funny that way but in a good funny kind of way
@@The_One_Over_There at first I thought they had unbolted them and flipped them for shipping, but the covers with the Cibie logos are on correctly. I think they were meant as rear lights.
@@Tyler-ts2ld yea that was something that crossed my mind too, Simply to make it smaller even though it's already small. But during shipping, A lot of things can never be small enough. I didn't think of the logos though but that's a good point
Fixing something is so much of our life’s meaning ( cars, jobs, our kids) it hits us at different times and the feeling is so addictive. I love you guys so much and really appreciate all of the years of MAAADDDDDDD FUN 😊
As it was likely used as a cargo run around it it could be quick tie downs. Or, they may have used them to put pool noodles in to protect the load/paint and keep it from moving about.
Dude, i laughed so hard at the " I used to make the music for this channel, i guess there is a new player in town" comment!!! I need more newb music from Marty.
These are so weird! The interior is really asymmetric. The rear view mirror in not in the middle, the head unit is on the wrong side, if you want to get out on the passenger(?) side you will cop a gearstick knob right where you don't really want it. Quirkiness aside though, I have to say it's a cute little bugger!
The two seater versions are even weirder; only available as a column shift auto since a manual would be awkward with the gearstick between the passenger’s legs, and the second seat is literally just a little stool grafted on to the end of the driver’s seat. Would be very cosy to say the least.
You can create a mold with paper and slap some two part epoxy to create those tabs again. Use the flexible two part epoxy. I have done this a few time. I even fixed a smashed up dashboard internal part after a radio theft.
my guess for the cable ties is an easier way to just quick bungie cord some crates down being as it was probably used to transport alcohol around town.
Yes definitely a long time viewer of approx 15 years!! Got the second generation of MCM supporters with two teen boys 15 & 18 already sporting the chopped fingers on their vehicles (admittedly one is a boat, but a heavily modified tinny rat)! Keep up the great work!!
The cable ties in the tray were probably to hook some kind of cargo net to. MID•63T for the plate. Edit: I just checked... MID•63T isn't available in NSW.
Seeing as the wheels were sitting on spacers and the tyres look crap, could you not ask barrel brothers to widen the wheels ? then you might get some normal tyres on it.
Out of all the cars you guys have bought, fixed and modded, this is definitely my fave! Oh, and.Marty............ "boom boom ch, boom boom ch, you're gonna get so so chopped"! Love it guys.
3:40 I think the cable ties were used to have put something like a pool noodle in between them to use it as bumper for items rolling around in the tray.
Moog: This has got nothing to do about whether - Marty: -makes big power man. Moog: -I like it or whether I like you - Marty: -biiig power... Moog: -or whether i don't like you - Marty: -biiiiiiiiig power... Moog: -or your truck . I'm just saying - Marty: -Turbos Moog: -happy people - Marty: -have a turbo Moog: -you - no no no, no... Marty: You got no turbo. *beep* Moog: -w - yeah - we know we've had this conversation, I know. This is, this is this is............ I love you two.
For the zip ties, I bet it was one of those truck bed stretchy nets. They usually just have little plastic hooks to connect and wouldn't fit around that tubing.
Moog's point about that "feeling of accomplishment" right before it didn't start, lol. Was the reason I became a builder/carpenter....at the end of day, you could see result of your work and even better feeling when the whole project finished
FANTASTIC VIDEO LOVE IT.... Thank you very much for sharing and please keep em coming. Everyone keep yourselves and love ones safe and healthy and remember to SMILE 😃 😊
The midget was probably used as a village school bus of sorts and the cable ties were for children to hold on. Given the payload is 150kg you would have had 15 x 10yr olds in there so that many cable ties makes perfect sense.
i actually am building a rhd subaru legacy outback its been a struggle over the past 2 years but ever little achevment makes me so happy and keeps me going everyday
The zip ties were probably used as “hooks” for bungie cords to hold cargo in the tray! Pretty easy and cool idea instead of welding brackets to that bar.
It looks SO GOOD. Can't wait until you put some crazy motorbike engine into it as a new project ;) ;) ;) No? Nobody? I tried. Yes I'm one of the OGs! Cool to hear the turbo music in the end :D Excited for what's to come!
Oh man it's so exciting to watch another episode of mighty reactor mods! Also maybe RAD-CR because if you put two of these too close together they heat up 😉.

superbike engine swap it
Probably quick hook points for a cargo net. And they say ‘nagetto’ in Japan for nugget. Might be a cute name.
I hope they choose that
aussie-fy it to fit a 6 character plate "negato"
NAG80
I reckon so too.
Came here to suggest this. Cargo cover.
Cable ties in the tray secured "permanent" pool noodles for load protection. somewhat common in the food services
Was about to post this and saw you beat me to it :) They definitely for pool noodles.
I was thinking anchor points for ropes or bungee cords to keep the load secure.
Also I think it's possible the cable ties were used to secure spent uranium rods.
this is the correct answer
Lol
😂😂😂
Nar the radiation proof cable ties are blue. :)

If it's getting a turbo i'd love to see MIDJET plates on it
I think they said it wasn’t possible
MOOGIT
MIIDJET, with the two Is cause it's a midget II
@@yeoj_ if it is an internal combustion engine, it can be turbo'd
@@yeoj_ - if they did its because it'd be too difficult for their skill set.........trust me, its possible.
Would love to see a wheel cover for that 5th wheel with chopped fingers!!
This!! 😀
I dug that! A wheel cover with chopped logo!
Yes I need one for my bug spare
That would be an iconic mcm car

my guess on the zip ties in back is to give a cargo net a touch more clearance for something that was a bit bigger than usual.
I agree, instantly thought cargo net with hooks if the truck doesn't have anywhere for em
think you're right
Came here to post this too.
That's what I was thinking
Yep pretty much
If it fits in the back of Marty's tipper truck, I think you should drive it to the track like that! I believe An epic story that would make
Speak like yoda, you do

I would say thy are work lights for lighting up the load area, or possibly for lighting up whatever advert was in the back before?
@@iamaparanoidandroid1 yea probably, But 2 of those lights for such a tiny bed? Seems overkill to me XD Might as well aim them forward :)

I'm with Marty, loser plays that cd every time they're in the losing vehicle. Moog can even make his own CD for Marty 😂
I love that quote about contributing to a purpose and getting stuff done. One of the many reasons I’ve been here since season one
If you wanna chop Marty, you should try and find a Hayabusa engine for it.
There's actually some videos of people who've done it.
18:48 just made my day LOL, that music was soooooo fitting
It’s the “Smidget” 🤙🏻
Also love the idea of no pinks, and instead the “lovely” CD Marty made!
I laughed so hard at that. Best troll by Marty ever.
Hey Moog, I’ve been watching since almost the beginning! I started watching in early 2009!! Been a huge fan since. Love the content.
Love your analogy for life moog. That’s exactly why I do what I do. Although I don’t usually get to turn the key to start my stuff.
That analogy to life motivated me more than any motivation video ive ever seen on youtube! Thanks.

Moog you can rotate the bezel on that tacho so that the little red triangle on it points at where you want the redline to be.

I replayed that tire bounce in the start of the episode twice, the confidence to bounce the tire was high!
guessing the cable ties in the tray might have been hooking points for those elastic cargo nets
My thoughts also. Or places to tie something similar to.
So looking forward to this battle. Small cars make low speeds feel more fun. Could be the slowest battle you’ve ever had, apart from the mopeds…
I'd like to think that the cable ties were used to hold tube lighting of some sort - that'd be pretty cool

Cable ties could maybe be for a cargo net 🤔
Yeah it's a cargo net for sure

Drift lyf
That bass run was amazing. Very talented moogination
The cable ties probably held a cargo net that had radioactive waste underneath it
3:55 a mesh. Likely had a tight fitting one and wanted more reach in access
Can you imagine a hayabusa engine in that thing...
Around a 7 seven second 0-60 factoring weight and traction. Probably less in reality. Stock busa around 2.5.
Fast but expensive, noisy and impractical for road use.
3:40 I think the cable ties were used to have put something like a pool noodle in between them to use it as bumper for items rolling around in the tray.

swimming pool noodles to keep the cargo safe was probably mostly transporting lots of asahi and kirin

That had me laughing so hard...
The zip ties were probably used as “hooks” for bungie cords to hold cargo in the tray! Pretty easy and cool idea instead of welding brackets to that bar.
3:50 for cargo net or tarp to protect the cargos for all conditions, used with carabiners
You guys said in the first video that inner-city bars used these are transport. The cable ties are probably related to tying down kegs of beer.
Nice one guys. Funny, interesting, good stuff!
Saucy montage bass 🙌 9:20
