I will always say this, till my grave, the Rightous Brothers, are among the best of all time vocally. What they did back then, with zero computer or autotune help, even today is hard to match. Pure talent.

You should check out Modern Renaissance Man's reaction. It was hilarious, but in no way racist at all. I say that because of how many snowflakes will melt hearing that. People are surprised because of the group's name and his extreme bass voice.

And THIS is the reaction I've been waiting for! I knew that you'd appreciate this duo. Bill Medley (tall, dark hair, beautiful baritone) and Bobby Hatfield (shorter, blond, supreme tenor) are the Righteous Brothers. A moniker bestowed them by troups from an army base at a club they played back in the day. After they sang people would say 'that was righteous, brothers!', and so they adopted the name. Both sang solo as well. They are fantastic! Thank you! Love & Light and many blessings to you Billy! ❤️🙏😇

And I read up on some of it yesterday and I was kind of investigating when they recorded their hits like that they had more than the two hits that these kids are listening to it was done by or the man that did the arranging for it is the famous Phil Spector known for the maker of the wall of sound and you'll have to go to your musical history of Phil Spector I think you there are some books on it to find out what that means and I can hear it in the background but not as much as you would on a record or when they recorded it on a record that's where the wall of sound is true it's only on the record they you know the arrangements for the TV shows and the appearances and other places were you know just straightforward Arrangements that you know but the records are from Phil spector's wall of sound

  • @barrywood7322

According to Medley, they adopted the name "The Righteous Brothers" because black Marines from the El Toro Marine base started calling them "righteous brothers".At the end of a performance, a black U.S. Marine in the audience would shout, "That was righteous, brothers!", and would greet them with "Hey righteous brothers, how you doin'?" on meeting them.

The Righteous Brothers consist of Bill Medley (the tall guy with the bass baritone voice) and Bobby Hatfield (the blonde with the high tenor voice). They teamed up in the early '60s and were playing a club in Southern California when some black military guys ran into them outside the club and said, "you brothers are righteous!" And with that, they became the Righteous Brothers. "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'" was their big breakout hit. Their debut hit a couple of years earlier was "Little Latin Lupe Lu," which was written by Bill. After "Lovin' Feelin'" came "Just Once In My Life." Later in 1965, they released "Unchained Melody," in which Bobby sang solo. The song was such a big success, they came with "Ebb Tide," another solo performance by Bobby. In 1966, they left their producer Phil Spector and his label and went to Verve Records where they recorded "(You're My) Soul and Inspiration," which was their song that shot up to #1 on the charts the fastest. Their popularity then began to wane as the material they sang was not as strong. In 1968, Bill broke away and released a solo single under his own name titled "Brown Eyed Woman," a song about interracial love. This came right after the landmark Supreme Court decision in Loving v. Virginia which made interracial marriage legal in the US. Several years later in 1974, the duo teamed up again for "Rock and Roll Heaven," a song that honored so many of the rock 'n roll stars that had died much too soon. "Unchained Melody" was used in a critical scene in the movie "Ghost" and was subsequently re-released as a single, and it became a hit all over again in the late '80s, almost 25 years after its initial run in 1965. In 2003, the Righteous Brothers were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and their performance that night of "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'" with Paul Shafer's band doing a credible recreation of the original "Wall of Sound" arrangement in their 1965 single was a highlight. Although Bobby had lost his falsetto voice by then, their performance that night remains a classic. Sadly, Bobby died a short time later. Bill still performs under the name Righteous Brothers with a new partner named Bucky something in Las Vegas. It's just not the same without Bobby.

I danced to this song in high school. All the girls were crazy about them.

@BillyYSC you do our hearts good to see yet ANOTHER young man get to see, hear, and enjoy one of the WAY older classics. For the best of film, music, and book has already been done and they fade away when they cease to be appreciated by the younger generations. Was a smile to see you understand greatness has NO expiration date.

This was the most played song on the radio in the 20th century. Based on the reviews of a song on TH-cam it’s on its way in the 21st-century

If you think this was good, you should check out their 'Unchained Melody' performance. It's done by the shorter one (Bobby Hatfield) and the man has all the talent. You'll know it's the right one because he's rocking a salmon pink suit.
