She shed a few tears when she finished and someone brought her about 2 dozens roses. Everyone was blown away. I can't think of another female vocalist I'd rather see live. Thank you Linda!

Gorgeous, vulnerable and sultry voice. As much as I love Patsy, Linda has a way better band behind her and way better arrangement. Not to mention she hits it out of the park in all her live performances.
She didn't do it better than Patsy. I think Linda's voice is beautiful. But her version doesn't beat Patsy's and that is a fact I will elaborate on. Patsy had the ability to dance on the edge of her vocal cords just breaking a part and coming back together again. If you go back and listen to Patsy's rendition on Crazy; in sections of this song, Patsy's voice flips up...almost like a yodel...because of the vocal cords flipping into head voice where it's not strained. It's what's cast in the break of the voice and having that control...of that flip into head voice...that is such a rare thing to achieve. In Linda's version, I did not hear this ability being displayed. Another thing worth mentioning is, in this version, Linda didn't have that perfect relaxed quality Patsy has in her voice where she can just let her connected sound go into a vocal fry and connect with the audience with that cry in her voice while singing, and telling you the story. It's this fact: any artist that has that "crying" ability can pull audience in and elicit that same reaction of crying from the audience because they are connecting to that emotion in such a deep level. Linda didn't have that. Linda comes in with a soft pitch range to high pitch; and she reminds me of Olivia Newton-John singing Hopelessly Devoted, but the way Patsy uses her vocal cords...to connect to the lyrics and the audience listening to it...is what makes her version so much better than Linda's. Also, the amount of air Patsy uses is less and rather than her vocal cords just failing...because there is not enough air...there is the optimal amount of air for Patsy to reach those high notes in Crazy with minimum strain and that's that yodel she does. Another thing that Patsy did in her version...besides flip into that head voice sound from chest when she wanted to...was she can really get into that clean head voice sound without flipping from chest voice; she can go straight into that all in her performance. An ability Linda did not demonstrate in this song. And another great quality that I can add to Patsy's vocal arsenal, that really solidifies her version as the best is that vocal fry Patsy had. To explain this technique further: when babies cry they produce that vocal fry you hear coming out of their mouth. Sooo many singers would kill for the technique they had when they were a baby. Babies don't know they are using their voice in the most efficient way possible; they aren't thinking of diaphragmatic support, chest voice, head voice, and falsetto because it's automatic. You lose that vocal fry sound as you get older. This was an ability that was uniquely Patsy. An ability that Linda did not master and you can tell just by her singing. Libda didn't have that "trill" in her voice that Patsy had. Patsy had control of her vocal cords so that she's just beyond vocal fry, and she can produce that crying effect you hear...in Crazy...when she sings, then can just end her lines with that low deep voice while holding on to that note without straining her voice. So no... I'm sorry... but... Patsy's version is THE best and cannot be beaten by anyone, especially by Linda Ronstadt. In this song, Linda's vocal abilities does not best Patsy's.

But if I had to choose, the best version of this song is not by either of them but by that little girl from Norway, Angelina Jordan - I believe she covered it when she was twelve. The kid is a throwback, has insane range, imparts great emotion, and possesses a set of vocal chords that I have not seen in my 60+ years.
Only constructive "criticism": it would be great to hear a little bit more of the audience applause to round out the video, it's not just a singer singing a song, but an interaction between singer and audience. That said, an awesome cover of a song that might as well have been written for her soulful voice. Wish she's sung more soulful material over the years, her voice was as full of soul as her big brown eyes...
