The 1000 series nvidia cards are legendary. The fact they are still this good being over 5 years old with so many new cards coming out since then is incredible.

It's at the end of it's lifetime and doesn't support ton of features like Kryzzp said which will make it stutter like hell. Just look at 3060 vs 1080Ti comparison in Alan wake, night and day difference and there will be more games like this...
It's crazy how much GPU's have come. I just did my first major pc upgrade last week going from an 2070 super and ryzen 2600x to an rtx 4070 super and ryzen 7800x3d. I remember when I got my first "Good" Card, the MSI 1050 TI 4gb LP. That was in 2017, that thing made me feel like a king for a couple years. Now I can't even imagine how much more GPU's will advance in the next 10 years. And happy birthday 1080 TI!!!
Mine plays Starfield just fine, maybe CPU is bottlenecking? I’ve also learned that 1080p is harder on CPU than 1440p or 4k so I thought it was odd that these benchmarks were for 1080p.
I bought the 1080ti in 2020 used and I still use it with an i7 9700f 2x8 2666mhz, and I don't think about changing it yet, perfect board, i from brazil

I bought the Aorus Xtreme version ,early 2018 , second hand, for about 550 euros. It's in my gf's PC since I changed it for RTX 4080, working like a charm. If that isn't the best tech purchase of my life, idk what it is! Happy Bday Beast!

Then I bought the 4080, no questions asked :p (got a "good enough" price , as I paid just above 1000 (I paid no taxes so that's the reason for that price tag - for the ZOTAC Trinity OC model of the card). I hope you get your 1080Ti into your Gf's PC , if she plays anything, she'll be thrilled. It's different to have it in your PC than just watching :p
1080Ti SeaHawk over here running with OC of 2012Mhz (+100 Core) and 12200Mhz (+600 Mem) paired with 1080p 240Hz monitor, it's amazing how much performance this card got, I was thinking of upgrading but after the OC I got around 20-30 fps more in every game. Best GPU ever
I used to own that EXACT same 1080 Ti model for 5 years and jumped to a Zotac 4080 Trinity OC for my 4K gaming TV setup, but gosh did this card last, It held up so good I skipped the most generations with it, still impressive for 1080p/1440p @144Hz for most games and even 4K on some, the most shocking thing was the sheer size difference between the cards but managed to make it fit. I even managed to resell it for 30% of the value I bought it so it was the best decision to keep it for as long as possible, in comparison the 4080 feels already lacking in some games while this one was a bit overkill for its gen and even held really good through the 20s Series/early 30s (Partially thanks to FSR), hope we'll see another legendary gen like this one from either competitor at more decent prices.

Only thing negative in recent years was the new games "Blurriness" because of the new architecture. STILL Pushing my 1080ti to the max....and believe me mine has seen the "light" several times with always perfect maintenance, it still performs amazing especially for the time it is. And guess what!!! i play mostly LoL, few offline games (hogwards, cyberpunk etc) and Valorant, the fps are just ridiculous for my 280hz screen. Insane stuff at any 1080p screen!! I bought my 1080 Ti in 2017 and "replaced" it just recently with a 3080 Ti. It was just no point to upgrage till now, I played a lot of PUBG, WZ2 with it and a lot of VR games. I had to upgrade because I do a lot of video editing/rendering and it is a very GPU intensive workload, I still have the 1080 Ti working next to my 3080 Ti, a lot of video editing software using them both. If there wasn't need for an upgrade for these video/3D rendering and AI applications that I work with then I still would use only the 1080 Ti. It is a great GPU. Glad to see it still keeping up with the new game titles.
My 1080TI arrived yesterday (used to have a 960) and I'm excited to finally do some next-gen gaming. 30FPS is good enough for me, so TLOU pushing 60 is a dream :D

Originally, I bought a 1080, used it for like 4 years and it was great. I upgraded it to a 1080 Ti two years ago, I bought it second hand. It was an AWESOME decision. I got the Asus Strix variant with beefed up cooling and OC capabilities. My only problem is that I am using 2560*1080 so my performance is a few fps below normal 1080p. It is still great today, but now I want to upgrade it.
It will be an old-fashioned card in terms of technology, but what it achieved in its time and what it continues to achieve gives it the title of "legendary."
I'm old enough to remember when 1080p 60fps on high settings was the target for high end GPUs and 30fps was considered good for consoles and passable for PC. The 1080ti still hits 60fps on every game so it's very much useable for 2024 and maybe another 2 years. Wouldn't recommend for anyone to buy it at this point, but if you already have one it's completely fine to wait a couple of years. Hopefully there will soon be a card that doubles its performance in the $500 price range.
It was actually released on my birthday and I got to go out and buy one for my first PC. It was totally overkill for a kid but its really good memories with my dad.
I love Pascal, I have a GTX 1080 MSI Gaming X and it is still a beast. I can run almost everything in 1080p with FSR, I recently played A Plague Tale Requiem with an FSR 3.0 MOD and it works perfectly, I don't see the need to upgrade the board for now, in the future when I can I will buy a 4080 or whatever comes out that time, but for now, I'm fine with this.
I have a 4060 laptop gpu, it hits similar fps in most games (with no dlss), while drawing only 75W (Compared to 200+ of 1080ti). Nvidia has made huge strides in efficiency! Also, Frame gen + dlss upscaling just doubles the fps, sick!
Built my pc 7 years ago, 1800x/1080ti. Switched to a 5800x3d now but Still using my Strix 1080ti oc thats been on liquid metal and water since day 1, 2100mhz stable always, never goes over 40c. Still a beast at 1440p. And FSR and DSR are just increasing its life. Also if using FSR you can mess with DSR too to get a much crisper, closer to native look. I do this on Helldivers since the game runs like doo doo and you can get 15-20fps fps boost going from native to uktra quality and using dsr to make it sharper its hard to even tell the difference between native and runs way better.
Just upgraded my 1080ti one month ago. Man, It is the best card I have used in my entire life. The insane raw processing power and the 11gb of Vram really help for these today's title. Most games uses above 6gb of vram even in 1080p so 1080ti will still last for more than 2/3 years.
Built my PC in 2017 around the time when the 1080 ti was new. Can safely say that this card is still great to play games on. My CPU (i7-7700k) aged worse than the 1080 ti, which is holding me back from higher frame rates.

In Cyberpunk 2077, you can get even more performance by using Cyber Engine Tweaks to disable Async-Compute with pre 20-Series cards. The FPS increase is massive :)
For a 7 year old card to still be up to today’s standards is actually pretty impressive considering the newer architectures and updated graphics on most games. Goes down as one of the greatest in history
My friend had that exact white gigabyte 1080ti model when it was new. The gaming experience on his pc was just surreal. I had just upgraded to 1060 6gb back then and it was good card too but 1080ti was just insane. And even though its 7 years old it still works very well in modern games. Remember, when 1080ti launched, the gtx 580 was 7 years old back then, and it would have been quite bad experience to use it in modern games at that point. The whole pascal line up is great tbh. My little brother is using gtx 1070 and it runs everything he plays very well. He doesnt play cod or the most demanding games but he gets 60fps in elden ring.
I found an used GTX 1080ti for around 150$ with one month of warranty so should I buy it . I m kinda worried if that card gets something damaged quickly as you know it's been 7 years for that GPU
The card that refuses to die. I have it paired with a Ryzen 7 1800x and it's impressive what I can actually achieve both in gaming and professional aplication such as premiere pro and afer effects. I want to test more games with it, but everything that I threw at the system ran like a charm, even games like cyber punk reachin between high 50s uo to 70 ish fps on hi settings in 1080p
was a day 1 Titan Pascal buyer. No regrets as it served flawlessly till the 4090 replaced it. When the 108TI came out it was a WTF moment. But that extra gig of VRAM helped ease the pain ;)

The RX 480 is faster than the 1060 and has more VRAM so works better in today's games. The RX 480 was also cheaper.

GTX 1080ti user here , I have the MSI version red and black and I'm not thinking to upgrade in RTX GPUs all games runs fine without any issue..

I'm old enough to remember when 1080p 60fps on high settings was the target for high end GPUs and 30fps was considered good for consoles and passable for PC. The 1080ti still hits 60fps on every game so it's very much useable for 2024 and maybe another 2 years. Wouldn't recommend for anyone to buy it at this point, but if you already have one it's completely fine to wait a couple of years. Hopefully there will soon be a card that doubles its performance in the $500 price range.

I love Pascal, I have a GTX 1080 MSI Gaming X and it is still a beast. I can run almost everything in 1080p with FSR, I recently played A Plague Tale Requiem with an FSR 3.0 MOD and it works perfectly, I don't see the need to upgrade the board for now, in the future when I can I will buy a 4080 or whatever comes out that time, but for now, I'm fine with this.
as someone who pairs a gtx 1060 with an i7-3770 in 2024 I think the gtx 1080ti would be a great card for me to use
1080ti was a real emperor of Gpus.
I have a 4060 laptop gpu, it hits similar fps in most games (with no dlss), while drawing only 75W (Compared to 200+ of 1080ti). Nvidia has made huge strides in efficiency! Also, Frame gen + dlss upscaling just doubles the fps, sick!

Built my pc 7 years ago, 1800x/1080ti. Switched to a 5800x3d now but Still using my Strix 1080ti oc thats been on liquid metal and water since day 1, 2100mhz stable always, never goes over 40c. Still a beast at 1440p. And FSR and DSR are just increasing its life.
Also if using FSR you can mess with DSR too to get a much crisper, closer to native look. I do this on Helldivers since the game runs like doo doo and you can get 15-20fps fps boost going from native to uktra quality and using dsr to make it sharper its hard to even tell the difference between native and runs way better.
Just upgraded my 1080ti one month ago. Man, It is the best card I have used in my entire life. The insane raw processing power and the 11gb of Vram really help for these today's title. Most games uses above 6gb of vram even in 1080p so 1080ti will still last for more than 2/3 years.
Future games will probably be built for 12gb of vram. That's kinda becoming the new 8gb and will likely remain that way for years.
Built my PC in 2017 around the time when the 1080 ti was new. Can safely say that this card is still great to play games on. My CPU (i7-7700k) aged worse than the 1080 ti, which is holding me back from higher frame rates.
I just finished Resident Evil 4 Remake with this monster with everything ultra at 1440p. I got it new in 2019 and I'm still rockin it.

In Cyberpunk 2077, you can get even more performance by using Cyber Engine Tweaks to disable Async-Compute with pre 20-Series cards. The FPS increase is massive :)
For a 7 year old card to still be up to today’s standards is actually pretty impressive considering the newer architectures and updated graphics on most games. Goes down as one of the greatest in history

still a proud user of 1080TI / if you pair it with a good CPU, Mobo and RAM, you still have a pretty decent machine for gaming.
My friend had that exact white gigabyte 1080ti model when it was new. The gaming experience on his pc was just surreal. I had just upgraded to 1060 6gb back then and it was good card too but 1080ti was just insane. And even though its 7 years old it still works very well in modern games. Remember, when 1080ti launched, the gtx 580 was 7 years old back then, and it would have been quite bad experience to use it in modern games at that point. The whole pascal line up is great tbh. My little brother is using gtx 1070 and it runs everything he plays very well. He doesnt play cod or the most demanding games but he gets 60fps in elden ring.
I found an used GTX 1080ti for around 150$ with one month of warranty so should I buy it . I m kinda worried if that card gets something damaged quickly as you know it's been 7 years for that GPU

The card that refuses to die. I have it paired with a Ryzen 7 1800x and it's impressive what I can actually achieve both in gaming and professional aplication such as premiere pro and afer effects. I want to test more games with it, but everything that I threw at the system ran like a charm, even games like cyber punk reachin between high 50s uo to 70 ish fps on hi settings in 1080p
was a day 1 Titan Pascal buyer. No regrets as it served flawlessly till the 4090 replaced it. When the 108TI came out it was a WTF moment. But that extra gig of VRAM helped ease the pain ;)
