I just received mine two days ago, and I must say, I'm ecstatic! Though the OCW-S100 photographs very well, it is simply stunning in person. All functions, including Multiband, are working perfectly. Casio continues to be an incredible bang for buck.
@@RvP6384 Yes! I absolutely LOVE it. It has lived up to all of my expectations. I get lots of comments on it and would highly recommend it. I will say that I am a simple person and by no means a watch connoisseur but my experience has indeed been wonderful.
Wery nice review. I was wondering if the blue reflections from the houer marks is as strong when you wear it normally as they are in this video. Im thinking that you maybe have a flourescent tube or lamp pointed to the clock while filming. The reflections are nicely blue but also makes it a bit, hmmm, how should I say, not calm in its apperance. Also, I agree with you about the Grand Seikos looking a bit more refined. :)
Henrik Pettersson Hi there! Thanks for watching! The blue accents/reflections are definitely not as pronounced as they are in the review. I have super bright LED lights that I use for filming to bring out detail but they often make the watches look a bit nicer or flashier than they are in real life. But the lights I have are also the only way I can seem to get colors to reflect true to life on camera. To address your concern, I don’t think you’ll have to worry about it looking too obnoxious in real life if you buy :) hope this helped! Cheers!
There are also other Casio Waveceptor models that do what the Oceanus does, but its not made like the Oceanus. Totally worth no matter what you buy, if you ask me. I'd have that S100 tho.
Every Seiko with diashield coating has pretty mediocre finishing. I just ordered a T200. Hasn't come in yet, but the sallaz polishing seems to be more evident on that newer model, especially with the brushed SS bezel. Very interested to compare to my GS snowflake. If it's the same, it will make me question the $1000 cost of refinishing a GS in Japan, when I can get an entire zaratsu finished Oceanus for half of that.
The thing about Bluetooth on Oceanus is that the watch will still function even when it's not connected to Bluetooth because the Bluetooth functionality is not a prerequisite of the watch but just an add-on. And future Bluetooth versions are always backwards compatible.
the blue tooth may get obsolete i realize that , but if the atomic transmitters ever get canceled or if you live in an area with no atomic signal the blue tooth is your best choice at setting the time .. even if blue tooth becomes obsolete you can just keep an android phone to set the time or change settings.
GoTch4 Hi! I am so sorry I don’t know why TH-cam flagged this as a spam comment and didn’t notify me. Anyway - corrected that, and I’d love to hear how you think they compare! I think the Oceanus is great but I would expect more for 5-times the price. 😂
if you dig the dress look ok. but if not you can get a really nice G-shock MTG with what this watch cost, also blue tooth, also atomic and solar but problaly bullet proof and with compass, altimeter or with a bad ass look like the GWG-1000 or the Frogman A-1000
So rest assured: that finishing, while excellent for the price point, cannot hold a candle to my 44GS cased GS quartz, although i will say casio did a smashing job with their indices. Nice watch though. Shame about radio. That tech is about to be deprecated, I've heard rumblings abou Germany stopping the broadcast.
@@Chrissepisje thanks, that wasn't about Germany at all though and that in the US doesn't seem all that certain as you made it out to be as well. We'll see.
@@Chrissepisje The NIST budget was not cut, so the atomic radio broadcast in the US is going strong. My Casio Lineage syncs to it every night. But even if the transmitters shut down at some point there are smartphone apps that can be used to sync the watches to atomic time. So no reason to think RC watches will be going away or become pointless.
comahrn Hey Guys! I have heard similar things but probably only rumor or speculation. With that being said, I do think that it’s an eventuality that is coming, given how advanced GPS can be these days and how most Astron, Edifice, and Oceanus are doing some combo of Bluetooth and or GPS (shame since it dates the watch rather quickly with how fast technology evolves these days). With that being said, Casio did recently release an update of this watch, the T200 model, and that one is still using Multiband 6 which tells me that they still see a future for the radio signals. And if nothing else this is a fantastic quartz solar watch!

Still like it?
does still work good?
One pays more for a titanium watch for it’s lightness. Can’t be compared with a stainless steel watch. This watch is gorgeous!
Pete :”)
Great video, I have this watch and a grand seiko quartz and this watch holds its own. This model is beautiful.
Can’t wait to get a Casio Oceanus S100. I got a Tissot Couturier quartz in place of this watch, but after getting this I need the Oceanus too. 👌🏼
Its an incredible watch. I've had mine just over two years. Solid as a rock!
Still rocking the Oceanus?

Casio G-Shock taught me to hate my heavy watches. Thankfully they offer us the S100 so we can have the best of both worlds.

Excellent review! I think you may have the model number a bit off though. The "FJ" should be "JF" as in OCW-S100-1AJF.

you can set the time manually and it would continue keeping time like an automatic

These are some seriously ugly watches.
Does it have a stopwatch function?
Hans Loepfe It does not, simply a world-timer with radio control.
you can use your iphone and app to update the watch
