Cool video,I think your neighbor with the 4 wheeler had to many beers. I use to live in Racine WI 20 years ago reminds me of the 1987 blizzard olso remindes me why I moved to Florida
I remember this, I had to climb over a 5 foot pile of snow to get my brother and sister to school the next day. I was 17. Had snow in our yard that was up to the porch railing it was insane.
Omg I remember when this happened, I was ten at the time and my dad, little sister and I spent the whole day shoveling the snow and clearing the sidewalk and drive way. It was tiring and very time consuming but it was a somewhat good memory lol
I lived a block or three away from you at that time. That storm was ridiculous. Got up in the morning and literally could not get out of the driveway - our car was parked and had accumulated so high that we had to unbury it to even get to the street.
A snowblower certainly would not be faster. 2 1/2 feet of snow with 4 foot drifts is much harder to get off the sidewalk with a snowblower than a ATV with a plow blade. Snowblowers are super slow because they bog down easily with high snow.
I remember that year but it was nothing like it was in 2013 up in northern wisconsin. I was out plowing 3-4 times a week with it never being less than 6 inches. Made a good check but still beats up on the plow truck and me. When you hit a hard bank the plow it connected straight to the frame and so is the driver's seat. It was the first year since 1998 I had to shovel off my roof on my house. By spring was good 5ft of snow in the yard couldnt even see the corn stalks anymore. Now this year plowed only 2-3 times and its been raining the last 3 days up here.
Wow I still live in Racine and I remember being on Jean Ave my entire house had a snow drift up to the roof. Me and my stepdad didn’t have a snow blower at the time so it took us like 5 hours to shovel. But yeah that was a crazy storm.
I live on the other side of the state, but I'm not sure if it was 11 or 12 when we got a lot of snow. Snow drifted over our driveway which is cut out of a hill, about 20 feet of snow in one spot over our driveway, wasnt that fun
I wish I had heat in my storage. I have a late 80’s JD 524 walk behind with 10 year old Tecumseh 7hp Snowking engine. The starter teeth don’t engage well. In 2017 a guy gave me a newer Poulan 724 walk behind with a broken worm gearbox. He said he never used the electric starter. The Tecumseh engines look similar. A month ago I picked up a free Snapper 522 2 stage walk behind snowblower left at the end of a driveway. Giver said that the engine needs a tuneup. It’s a smaller frame snowblower and I might keep it for the sidewalk at the house with 3 apartments we live in. It’s better than shoveling at age 52.
Scrolling yt and randomly suggested, i remember getting drunk as hell that night watching this storm, then a lady with snot froze to her nose beat red in the face came stumbling upon my neighbor and i who was out there snowblowing, eneded up giving her a ride, i truly think we saved her life she couldnt even tell where the hell she was at
I live in Wisconsin I was in the 1st grade when this storm hit I remember my dad and I going for a drive in his 01 Cherokee xj before the plows came and we had so much fun
It is, but the kids in school aren't. They talk about sexual topics on the bus, and they're in 6th grade.. But it is a nice place, still. There's Lake Michigan nearby, and you could take a train to Chicago.
Oh, and you should watch you for people that act like this guy above my comment. ^ They try to be negative about things all the time. Anyways I hope you have a Merry Christmas! ^^
LoDoesStuff you think the 6th graders are all that they ain’t shit go up to 8th grade and there fucking intense they will do everything possible to try to make you cry. They’ll fight you if you call them dumb or s little tiny joke
Cool video. I like the naration, I need to learn how to overlay a narative. I have a couple of videos about the same storm on my channel too. Keep up the good work!
A year ago today. I was 16 at the time and i remember hearing thunder walking with my friend to McDonalds... we thought it was good idea and that was the worst stprm i ever been in.
Mark Czerniec Ooh thats some america-only crap, here in northern europe city workers and contractors clear all roads, sidewalks, paths, and really anything that might cause an inconveniance.
our town does our sidewalks and streets in canada, they even come along with a snowblower on a loader and dump trucks and take the snowbanks away after big storms
U might get some snow but it melts within a couple days..up here in northern Canada we get -20 or colder in October.. -40 or colder from November until April..we have winter 7-9months of the year
Street plowing buries the sidewalks. Keep your sidewalk clear or else a big fat fine. Unless it's a bank owned foreclosure. Racine's local government doing what it does best. Sold a house dirt cheap just to get out of that horrible city.
Born & raised in Racine...yup, don't miss this at all!!
I love Wisconsin, i've always visited during summer so i hope i get to visit this Winter!
Its unbelievable what you guys have to go thru to live in snow!✌😎🌴 Much love from Orlando FLORIDA 💖🍀

Wow! This was a surprise to find on my recommended since I live in Racine and have for over 15 years.

Great to see neighbors helping each other
i like to help anothers too
Jeez, I remember that year & getting stuck in the snow lol
What was the atv trying to do? Looks like they were making more of a mess than anything. A snow blower would've been faster.
larrabeejl clear the sidewalks
@@vasthockey4382 I know they were trying to clear the sidewalks. They were doing a horrible job at it.
@@larrabeejl bruh, this was posted in 2011... u really hurt his feeling didn't u ;o
Just trying to break the drifts up and make it easier for a blower to get through
A snowblower certainly would not be faster. 2 1/2 feet of snow with 4 foot drifts is much harder to get off the sidewalk with a snowblower than a ATV with a plow blade. Snowblowers are super slow because they bog down easily with high snow.

Good narratives , enjoyed very much , thank you for sharing!
J B&walter Thanks!
she says " it may be small but it gets the job done" boy have I heard that before !
RaiderNation Napoleon you’ve just roasted yourself dumbass
2:51 he’s really proud of his. It may be small but it gets the job done😂😂

I’m from Oshkosh and winter 2020 is suck city so far. The good old days of when Wisconsin got snow.

I live directly across the lake from you in West Michigan and we got pummeled over here too

Didn't the guy with the new snowblower know that it has reverse? And probably 3 different gears for reverse. Or at least 2.
I wish i was there i loved to experience this snow fall an shovel in snow...😁
LOL I could watch the guys on that quad all day.
Why not a snowblower? Because four-wheelers are way more fun
Remind me to never buy a used 4 wheeler from that guy.
Just giving you a little reminder 5 years later :)
I laughed so hard when I saw your comment.
Little reminder just in case . 10 years later
Where did you get the Royal Mail jacket?
Amy found it at the American Science & Surplus store in Milwaukee: www.sciplus.com/
Them guys on the quad are having too much fun lmao
Shout out Racine.
I stay about six blocks from Mitchell M.S.
You did not have as much as we did on the south side of town near 16th and Memorial Dr. you could NOT use a small blower. and plows were useless.
I live in Wisconsin I was in the 1st grade when this storm hit I remember my dad and I going for a drive in his 01 Cherokee xj before the plows came and we had so much fun

Do these guys on the quad not realize you have to make many passes with the blade on an angle? This is just complete stupidity
I remember that. My hometown.
I remember that my grandmas house had a snowdrift that literally went over the roof of her house
That blizzard was soooo fun but a little bit scary, but not as much. I live in Racine, and right now, Racine is a very good place to live.
Marija Markovic Wait, do some people think snow makes a place bad to live? How would snow make a place bad to live in?
I wish i was living there.. My god it looks beautiful i wanna experience snow so bad one day..
Racine does get lake effect snow once in a while -- but nowhere near as much as, say, northwestern Indiana.
nothing says efficiency like doing the same spot 4 times or more..
Need some tire chains
It may be small.........but it gets the job done.....hahahahaha
lol
That's what she said, I know it was too easy but i had to.
@@Peter-pv8xx she literally said that.
ATV's will never replace tractors.
I believe that the school in the background is Horlick high school
It's Mitchell Middle School.
Cool video. I like the naration, I need to learn how to overlay a narative. I have a couple of videos about the same storm on my channel too. Keep up the good work!
That ATV sounds like top fuel dragster :-)
As a Canadian. I can not see any type of blizzard in this video
Hasn't anybody hooked a plow or a snowblower to a snowmobile, would that be possible it seems they would go through anything.
Peter it’s called an atv with tracks
That snow ain't Nothin.. Y'all need to come to north Dakota or Alaska!
Its just wisconsins wether in winter well i live in la and we live close to the core of the earth so we hardly get even an inch of snow
Thomas Schexnaydre did you say core of the earth you would’ve died and I’m 13 and I know that
Love Thunder Snow. 👍👍👍👍👍

I live on Douglas Ave I remember this storm. My neighbor had to pull someone out of the ditch with his truck.
I LOVE WISCONSIN'S WHETHER
And their weather as well.
This might be the most Midwestern video ever lol
They need tracks on that quad
Is pay money to see the guy on the quad clear that mound "in one shot" like he said he could.☠☠☠☠
Is that a Royal Mail coat I see
Yes - purchased in Milwaukee at American Science & Surplus ( www.sciplus.com/ ).
Oh thats right you close schools during a blizzard... Where I live, I’ve never heard of a school being closed. For any reason.
Things a beast! Awesome
I remember this istg I hated everything that day with all the shoveling
Man I'd love to have a nice snow blower and help all those people out.
its Wisconsin.
why does most everyone have a mickey mouse snowblower?
They have republican rule and all the good jobs went bye bye.
I. Love. Winter
@HyperFoxTails it was six of us shoveling down on 12th that day and it still took us all day.. 1 House!!
this was in between Super Bowl 45 week when the Packers beat the steelers
Closing schools? When we had like 100cm in one day we didn’t close school.
Terry because your school district is retarded and wants kids to freeze to death
+cirmyカーディー What I meant was the snow fell after school
if that snows hart for a 900 quad to move in 4wd thats so heavy snow
Does the city not clear the side walks there?
I have never heard of any city clearing sidewalks. Streets, yes - but sidewalks are up to the property owners anywhere I have been.
Mark Czerniec Ooh thats some america-only crap, here in northern europe city workers and contractors clear all roads, sidewalks, paths, and really anything that might cause an inconveniance.
The city never does
our town does our sidewalks and streets in canada, they even come along with a snowblower on a loader and dump trucks and take the snowbanks away after big storms
Canada’s nice
i six at the time and 13 now but i dont remeber this day
I live in Buffalo we are use to the snow
That's fab
Sadly we need that snow
No. That's not how to move snow.
I got scared diring this storm and i still live in racine
One inefficient use of an ATV….snow blower would have done a much better job and a lot quicker. He's just goofing off.
I KNOW MIKE THE MAIL CARRIER!! lol
Uhmmm? Why is this on my recommended again?
i feel bad for that atv he is riding it way to hard
Kostelnick how's he riding it hard?
Luv it !
never buy a used 4 wheeler from that guy
That atv needs snow chains ! They make a huge difference
