  • This video is an in depth demonstration of the Celestron PowerSeeker 60AZ Refractor. In this video, we'll unbox the telescope, assemble it, align the finder, and then use this telescope to try to view Uranus. Enjoy!
Note: This video is for entertainment purposes only. This telescope does not meet our minimum requestments for a beginner telescope.

This is a moon/planetary scope - it doesn't need much aperture. I have an Omni 102, and I always use it with light-reducing cap to look at the Moon or planets - less aperture means less chromatic aberrations. As for its finderscope - it is not that bad, it's usable and you don't need to remember to switch it off ;)

Yes you'll see Uranus no problem with such a scope as I've seen it with a really tiny telescope the 5x10 Zeiss Mini Quick Monocular but I've never seen Neptune with it but 60mm will pick it up because my 25mm Pocket Borg refractor does.Well technically Uranus is a naked eye planet but it's very difficult and you need to get somewhere really dark. With the 25mm refractor and a 9mm eye piece I can detect the cloud bands on Jupiter and rings of Saturn.

Saturn is currently not in the evening sky, you’ll need to wait a few months. The $14 telescope I bought at CVS provided a decent view of Saturn. However, if you want to see more than Saturn, the Omni 102az from Costco (not on their website you have to go in) is currently the best sub $200 telescope.

I purchased the 80mm Powerseeker and the barlow for it was not able to come to focus either. The issue might be that the lens (plastic) in the barlow is located in a certain position within the tube. It might just be out of place and might be able to be adjusted by sliding it into a different position within the barlow tube. I thought of this after I disassembled it so I am not able to confirm this.

    Instructions unclear.
Lady cop rolled up, while I was taking a piss against a nearby tree after i got my scope set up.
She hit me with an exeedingly bright spotlight, (completely ruining 2 hours of dark adaptation) and asked what i was doing in a city park "after hours" (park closes at sunset.)
My reply "trying to get a peek at Uranus, so shut off that fucking light! " got me tazed and arested.
I think a homeless guy stole my 60AZ after i was brought in...
    Please halp?

i had Celestron 50Az and it was disappointing. Celestron 50, 60, 70 and 80 aperture Telescope is useless and waste of money. For beginners 90mm aperture Telescope with a good Barlow is Ok.

@@user-go8ei4ib3n I don't usually recommend this, but if you have access to dark skies (no nearby cities or towns) cheap binoculars can be fun. It sounds like you want to take pictures though, which is an expensive hobby.
