So many people say no good music came out of the 80s. I was there and it's still my favourite decade musically. And this is easily one of the most beautiful songs to come out of that decade.
Agreed. The 80s were when you had to be able to sing. There was no autotune the way there is now. I was just discussing this with my daughter - who could only name two artists today who don't depend on autotune to reach 1/8 of what Freddy could do.
After being married just ten days before leaving for the military in 1989, I heard this song while in the middle of Basic Training and had to send it to my young wife. We will be married 26 years this April and I love her MORE than I could imagine. The best of luck to the younger couples

A DJ in Vegas knew of the song, played it and his phones lit up. He sent it to a bunch of other DJs and the same thing happened. The record company re-released it, and this time it went to #1. Unfortunately for the band, they didn't get a dime, no tour, no follow up record deal. Great song! Thank these guys for making such a great song!
The song was actually a top 10 hit in Canada in 1983. I herd it on the Canadian stations at the time when I lived in Buffalo. Was a great song then and a great song 7 years later when it was re released in the US.

People told you he couldn't hit that note because it seems they don't want to believe something beautiful. People still fawn over the old and broken-down Elvis, but few give props to the truly talented, like Freddy. (I love Elvis, but Freddy blows him away vocally.)
